The Jayhawks have been with me for a quarter of a century, like a trusted friend. Hollywood Town Hall, was and remains, a masterpiece.

Opened for Matthew Sweet at Tuxedo Junction in Danbury CT. I was blown away grabbed a pen and wrote the bands name down so I wouldn't forget. Went out the next day and picked up HTH. Loved them ever since greatest band to have not become superstars

Absolutely one of the greatest and most overlooked albums. The shining star of the Jayhawks catalogue.

Hard to put into words how much this group changed my life. They opened for my group Gigolo Aunts at the Rat in Boston in 1988 and I had never even considered "country" music. The harmonies, the songs and especially the guitar playing knocked me on my ass. I made a point to catch them every time they came through town after that. I've never been one to learn other people's licks, but I think I can still play almost all of Hollywood Townhall note for note. Gary was my gateway into country picking. Still one of my favorites. Rainy Day Music is another one of my all-time favorite records. Thanks for many years of great music!

I can remember my brother giving me a mixed cassette of Gigolo Aunts, Archers of Loaf and Ass Ponys in about 96 or 97. Thanks to you and yours as well!

Starting with Hollywood this became my music, but very few of my friends even heard of them. Then one Thanksgiving we went to my sister in laws outdoor block Turkey day party near Tampa. Some of the guys produced guitars after the meal and started playing Jayhawks and Ryan Adams. Finally I found my peeps ! LOL

In the end they will leave a legacy of one of the best bands ever. Gram Parsons would have loved them.

I remember reading a review for their album Sound of Lies. Based on that review I bought the CD the same day. Been a fan ever since. Very very underrated band.

Ah the juxtaposition of life... the simple life, before mobile phones, before social media, when you had to get up off your arse to see great bands like these. Then, the current world where we can reminisce about those great times with a library of material at the click of a mouse in the comfort of your armchair... Give me life pre this digital convenience any day of the week!!

Tom Perry’s estate owes them $$$, IMO. Every time I’ve ever heard Last Dance with Mary Jane (a song I love) I hope, after those opening chords, it’s going to be Waiting For the Sun

    Can't believe it, it's almost 30years ago.
Around that time they played some shows in germany, Mark Olson was still in the band, and I missed them.
I also wish Mark returns to the Hawks.

She likely developed friendships with Gary and the others during her time with the band. So it's really not a surprise that she would continue to play with the band.
