Knowledge should instill humility, not arrogance or boastfulness.
Arrogance manifests in two forms:
1. Rejecting the truth.
2. Looking down on others.
Both are destructive traits and must be avoided.
Maalik bin Dinaar (rahimahullaahu ta’aala) said: “If a servant seeks knowledge to act upon it, then it humbles him.”
Maalik bin Dinaar mentioned: “And if he seeks knowledge without acting, it only increases him in arrogance and pride.”
