I did consider the 57 because of it's lighter weight, but went 97 ,know what you're saying about the new stocks but actually they handle very nicely and that flat surface is much nicer to fit a sling attachment..can't wait to see how it performs, don't think I'd want to let it go either once I got my hands on it 👍👍
@@AndyEllis-qz6uk yeah truth be told the 57 was one of those rifles I wish I'd never sold. Excellent little gun that doesn't pull your arms off carrying around the woods and fields. 👍👍👍
I guess I just need to order this one the price her in Norway isn't to bad the hw 50 i have was also quite affordable i just sold two gamos so i guess that i ned to invest that money again 😂
@@three-phase562 they handle very similar to the 99s. This one has a very sweet firing cycle indeed. If the weather plays nicely I'll get it onto the range tomorrow 😁👍👍👍
Great gun! I live in the US and mine is a .22 FAC and I put a Williams receiver sight with an adjustable diopter on it. With the sight mounted all the way to the rear it gives a huge sight radius, and the adjustable diopter allow me to make adjustment for different light conditions. It is an absolute tack driver. I agree with you on HW guns. Every time I purchase a springer air rifle that is not an HW (other than Air Arms) I have been disappointed.
@@dtm6190 sounds great my friend. I really need to do some iron sight shooting videos, too many people are too quick to write off iron sights without even attempting to shoot with them 👍👍👍👍
I bought the 57 in .177, was so impressive l got the .22 as well, kept the open sights on the .22 kept in a slim shot gun slip. Very pointable, love the loading port, down up and pellet in👍🏻good value for money and as accurate as all my other HW rifles
Hi Vince! I,m looking forward to see you shooting the 57 😁 The 99S and 57 are the only model HW springers i don't have in my collection yet. I have a few MTC scopes and a Hawke airmax compact that came with a big wheel and for the FT shooters it will be certainly good to have but for hunting and target work at home i don't like a big thing like that on my scopes. I hope the 57 shoot as well as the 99s. Cheers!
@@rapalaron6348 yup agree Ron, the wheel will be removed for hunting, I'll keep it on for the range though. My old 57 was an absolute tack driver, I'm hoping this is the same. 10 metres testing has been promising. The 57 has handling characteristics of a 99s/50 albeit slightly front heavy with open sights, fitting a scope negates that. 👍👍👍👍
I also like the HW57!!! Handy little gun...very accurate! Have two...one in .177 and one in .22. Enjoy my friend... enjoy! I like a smaller scope on my Hw57 guns. 2-7x32 is perfect on these guns!
@@tomsvennblad8374 I hear you Tom, I'll probably put a smaller scope on it, going to try to kill two birds with one stone and try both scope and rifle at the same time 😉👍👍👍👍
I bought a victoptics scope on AliExpress an sold it on, I have had vector optics veyron scopes (which a lot of reviewers rate) but I found the eyebox to be tiny.. so got shot of those as well. Most scopes that come out of China all come from sun vector optics factory.. and if you buy a discovery scope the manual has the westhunter logo “watermarked/faintly printed” into it
@@Airgunfunrich this scope seems ok, I'm going to be interested to see how it holds up on a springer (lol I'm taking my Hawke with me incase of worse). I'll do a box test on it as well to check the click values and return to zero. I have to say I've used victoptics scopes before and wasn't impressed, however I'm willing to give this a fair crack to see if it'll change my mind 😉👍👍👍👍
@@vincentenglish8489 hopefully you’ll be surprised, that’s why I had more than one veyron, thought the 4-16 ( had the 6-24 ) might be better, unfortunately not. Then westhunter brought out a compact 6-24 so bought that, tiny bit longer than the veyron but a much forgiving eyebox, my brother now has that on his HW77 as he was using a scope the same age as rifle (think it’s late 80’s early 90’s)
Thanks, you too Paul. The 57 is a really underrated rifle compared to the 77 and 97 although in my experience it shoots just as well as it's more well known stable mates 👍👍👍👍

Hi there, yup it's a lightweight full power accurate sporting rifle. It's lighter weight in my humble opinion would make it ideal for ladies and juniors who may find the weight of a 77 or 97 a bit too much. It's a Weihrauch so you're buying quality, you wo,uldnt be disappointed 👍👍👍👍👍
Hi, Vin. Lovely rifle and I’m looking forward to seeing it in action 😊 I’ve a couple of the vector optics brand scopes myself and I’m impressed with the quality. I really like there hight adjustable mounts to. I’m curious how your going to clean the barrel with the restrictive barrel access. Only asking as I might have to get one myself 😂😂 later mate
Great looking Rifle Vin, I might be taking a file to the foresight blade to thin it somewhat (once you've paid for it) and reversing the rearsight plate to the Vee notch, if it does ? I think my HW35 did, or am I thinking about the Mercury I used to own ?
The loading port is very easy to remove to clean the barrel 👍🏻
Thanks, I didn’t know that 😊👍

Does anyone know how to clean the barrel on this type of under lever rifle?
