I never understood why the rock band version, and thus yours, is half a semitone too high. You can use Audacity to correct this. Use Change Pitch, and have it go -0.53 semitone on it, and it will sound like the original version.
I don't know how the Rock Band source differs from the album cut, or if they changed the pitch on their end. I've never been happy with audacity's pitch correction and didn't want to alter the audio. Always makes it sound weird even at a semitone. So I just left it alone.
It's hilarious that these teenage kids didn't even like this type of music but they wrote this killer song because they thought it was what would sell. Their newer stuff is VERY different.
Wow I didn't know that! I loved this music and this song when I was a teenager in the 90s. But even then I felt a little almost like they were doing a parody, or like a simplistic version of grunge; not super profound or as emotional as other songs but still did the trick. Knowing that, it makes sense 😅 Smart kids haha.
