We all love old Mors Kochanski, his experience and wisdom in bushcraft, who first stated, "The more you know, the less you carry." You are very knowledgeable, and since you do know more than most, it's obvious you carry less to to enjoy the great outdoors. You look well and comfortable because what you carry is what sustains you, including the proper clothing and sleeping gear and shelter, so you do not need a huge fire. Fine bushcraft indeed.
+Marcel Lafond Thanks for your very kind comment Marcel, yes, Mors is the Godfather of modern bushcraft the the saying is so true!!!! all the best, Taro
Thank you for another great Taro movie, I love old military equipment, back in 1958 my dad gave me a ww2 shoulder bag to use for school and now in 2015 I am still using the same bag, you can't beat military grade.
I remember in the service we had to construct these and get a fire going in 120 seconds to complete the cold weather training course. This was a lot nicer and smoother and although it looks simple the elements of this simple task can save your life in the event of an unplanned stay in the wilderness. WELL DONE ATB. BILL
Hi Taro. My favorite equipment is military surplus. For me, old tech, used, inexpensive equipment, bring back memories and the challenges from the past. This is not to say I that new tech is bad, rather it is a different experience. As always, your videos are excellent. I alway learn new things and relax when watching your channel. The extra effort you put into videography is greatly appreciated. ...ken
+KennethKramm Hi Ken, thanks so mach my friend, you mentioned so many things and the same things i like on you channel, you have always great contents, great videography!!!, and to watch you is also very relaxing!!!!! all the best, Taro
Not only do you have good information, our camera work is fantastic! Since I don't get out to the woods much I use military equipment and like you said, you can find it at a good value and it lasts a very long time.
+wyattoneable Hi Wyatt my friend, it alway a pleasure to read your comments, as i said before its a great motivation for me to carry on, have a great week!!! Taro
You have a gift, with Bushcraft, and video. I have truly enjoyed all your videos, your Bushcraft is home grown and original, not a re-hash of someone elses ideas!! Danke!!
Another great video Taro! You're right, you don't have to go broke to enjoy the woods. Military surplus is a great way for people to be introduced to the woods. I know with the price of higher end gear, I'm almost afraid to take it outside because I don't want to ruin it, haha, but military surplus is definitely a good alternative. Thanks bud, take care!!
Taro and Mike / Josie from +bushcraftbarton are the bees knees of winter camping. I love military gear; my only fear and thus caution is being mistaken for being military by undesirable "persons or agencies" in hostile times / areas, with the obvious consequences? Would love to see a vid with you and your family out together Taro. Your wife and girls have a great guy around!
+RhodieFreedomCamp Thanks my friend for your kind comment!!! yes its possible that somebody understand the meaning of military gear for bushcraft wrong, but thats how it is, to take my family out is again for a video is not that easy to decide at the moment, they kids are growing up and the should know that they are watchet by a huge audience, so many our older daughter if she likes, but is up to her, all the best, Taro
Taro, nice way to get away for the day. I'm going to Germany soon. I'll be there for about two weeks. In Münster. Have friends there. I hope I can go camping while I'm there. Love your channel. Ronnie, Texas.
Love your video! I use thrift store military surplus and sometimes modify clothing ,backpacks gear and tents. The Polish Lavuu I have has a zipper in front ,swiss waterproof backpack, pouches,German WW2 mess kit, wool clothing, mukluks, etc...In the city I may be laughed at but in the woods I know the critters would not care and I will be safe and warm. Keep inspiring me my friend!
Macht echt immer riesig Spaß, Dir zuzuschauen, Taro!
+bangalorebobbel Vielen Dank Robert!!!!!

Thanks for the video as I'm always interested in how people do things other than those in the U.S. Only foreign military gear I have is the Polish lavvu and though it's great, it is a bit heavy. Just haven't gotten around to installing a zipper for it.
Yes you are correct about military equipment being functional and cost effective. Especially the USGI cold weather glove systems. The military understands how to keep hands functional in cold weather with their liner systems.
