I think Aztecross still has a video on it, where he had screenshots of the cheater forums for one of the top cheat sellers and it was weird shit like; "When are the cheats coming back?" "Are we being shut down?" "Bruh, I just started to improve at this game thanks to the trainers."
I use to play old online WWE games and it was riddled with hackers who would freeze the match, be unpinnable and had moves you couldn't counter... they ALL acted like this Acting like they were really good and spamming "LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL" all the time. That was back in 2009...... not much has changed with online gaming hackers and DBD seems like a game hackers love
Teleport cheats still exist aswell, went against a skull merchant that just teleported to everyone one by one and instahooked everyone in basement, everyone died instantly on first hook aswell.

A new cheat that cheaters have been doing is opening the exit gate, starting the timer and then glitching out the exit gate so nobody else can escape. Happened to my brother and I the other day, all because we were trying to help the killer get the hacker.
I wish you had shouted out the ttv who dc’d bc they thought it was a bug and was concerned for the killer. I’d love to show some love to them but I understand.

Oh hey, I went against that guy too! Kinda glad to see I'm not the only innocent one. xD He played Huntress in my match and I was soo impressed by the insane snipes for the first half of the match. Until he hit me through walls and held me hostage with the mori. :') He didn't do it for too long tho, maybe because I didn't gave him the reaction he was looking for. So I can definitely recommend staying chill in those situations, even tho I hope no one has to experience it.
I did! Reported him in game and on Twitch. Luckily, Twitch already banned him, like Spooks said in his video. I got a mail from bhvr too, that they're on it but they said they're unable to inform me about the outcome. Can't imagine them not perma banning tho.
I remember one time my mom and I got out in a lobby against a cheating killer and there was a cheating survivor too. They gave me a flashlight that was super bright and I couldn't put it down after I picked it up. I was so confused 😂 Also the killer was teleporting around like crazy
Went against a hacker around a month ago, was a legion who had access to every perk whenever they wanted to have it. We didn’t realize until endgame where NOED appeared yet didnt show up in their endgame perk setup. Its scary how subtle some cheaters can be.
I encountered the first obvious cheater I've ever seen in game which is pretty crazy since I've been playing on and off since 2017. It was the survivor teleport hack where when downed the survivor teleports to the furthest away teammate.
Thanks for bringing this up. I got targetted by him on two separate days, and I'm a nobody with at most 4 viewers lol. Afaik he's got at least 4 separate steam accounts, and his ''main'' account has 3.3k+ hours of DBD. After games he always hung around my chat & tried to snipe more games. I also watched him for a bit & saw him queueing up and leaving lobbies that had no ttvs in them - that's his M.O.
I used to stream DBD and was targeted by a hacker. After finally getting out of the first game, they targeted me due to a lack of reaction and followed me into the next round. And the next. After three rounds, they just decided to DDOS me personally so I could no longer play the game. This IP DDOS issue is still a problem, but has flown under the radar since the big spike in 2021 affecting big streamers. BHVR needs to protect its players more, issuing hardware bans a lot more to slow these hackers down.
I told someone in a discord server that there are cheaters in DBD and plenty of them. She said that the devs banned mostly all of them and it’s a rarity…. Like maybe for you but there’s still swarms of cheaters out there. I don’t trust any unusual gameplay from a killer.
Where there's a competitive game, there's cheaters. To be absolutely honest, i wouldn't even grace these types of people with the title of "hacker". It makes them feel far to important and special. Leave the term "hacker" for people who breach databases and leak info. This guy is a script kiddie, pure and simple. 7 months later, hackers are still rampant. had a cheating teammate the other day, made all the gens finish within 30 seconds and held us hostage. i dc’d and lost a pip for it. i hope bhvr is truly looking into this, it’s insane just how /much/ cheaters are able to do in this game
I encountered a speedhacker recently, and then 2 guys who suspiciously let me down them. When I went to pick them up, the game would freeze at my end for a few seconds, and auto drop them. After the 3rd or 4th pickup, I crashed to desktop. That scenario has happened twice to me in the last fortnight.
The only cheaters I’ve gone against are ones that kill everyone instantly or pop every gen before I move I don’t understand that like congrats....you didn’t play the game?
What a waste of space these cheaters are. I had one the other day that was Insta flashlight saving even though they had no flashlight, pallet stunning me for almost 30 seconds with the same pallet over and over. Flying around the map and when I didn’t give them any attention, instead got survivors to finish the gens quickly, the cheater closed the exit gate and wouldn’t leave the switch. But I outsmarted them by grabbing them, got them on a hook and watched them die as all the others escaped. Success!
I remember a few months ago I was taken hostage by a hacker while he was shouldering me. Flying around, jumping on roofs and so on. That lasted a while, and I was worried that some algorithm might ban me because of unusual movements or something. I was also in a hurry because I wanted to finish my rank before the end of the season. That was not cool.
I had a match with a friend against a cheater that just proves that anonymous mode does more harm than good. We were on Coldwind against a trapper, by around the middle of the match we had figured out all his perks, or so we thought, turns out the trapper had extra perks. Worst of all we could only use BHVR's in-game report feature cause they had anonymous mode on and we couldn't check their steam profile and report them there.
Yikes... I'm lucky that I have yet to encounter a cheater/stream sniper, at least to my knowledge, but I can't imagine the frustration others must feel having to deal with this, especially when they stream themselves using exploits and think it's some sort of fun tactic and that they're so good. I don't understand how this can be fun for anyone. What's the advantage of cheating, other than making the game miserable for everyone else and holding people hostage until they're forced to DC and get a penalty for it? It just blows my mind that people are like this. I'm glad this person was finally banned on stream, but unfortunately I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they either make a new account or someone else starts this ridiculousness again. I hope BHVR continues to work on stopping cheaters/hackers and continues to ban them. Maybe one day they'll have a better method implemented to make it easier to just automatically get rid of these types of people.
Stream sniping tools and functions exist and that is how ppl snipe certain popular streamers, however there are restrictions like you need to be on the same MMR as the person you intend to snipe. Targeted cue snipes happen using names, steam64IDs and cloud IDs. So someone can just put TTV in their names list alongside a bunch of variations of it and get streamer lobbies every time.
I feel like the obvious cheats have become a lot more rare, but I also feel like a lot more people are using wallhacks and other stuff... I play in anonymous mode and my profile is private as well, and I've had a bunch of people be like "your name is funny" or "you have 4K hours, you gotta carry us" when there's no way they should've known that...

I was running into hackers quite a bit. Most of it was just speed hacks but the last one was a hacking Claudette who downed herself on top of the little shed next to guard shack on Ormond. Super proud of themselves too. Sadly, I've been leaning more and more towards finding other games, not because of hackers. I just don't have the fun that I used to have with DBD.
My friend vs a tunnel head (pyramid) have teleport and speedhacks on midwich 💀 I myself had a blight freeze my character and my friend’s character after an unhook so he could get 2 easy downs 💀 all happened before the 7th anniversary event
In the last week and a half I've had only two hacking survivors, thankfully...but have had quite a few over the years.....they didnt hold me thankfully, but it's still a bit annoying to get them even if they're chill about it because I have to then tunnel out the other survivors just to make sure they dont end up being held
I wish we had fun hackers who give everyone a terrormisu for the match, or swapping models for killer and survivor, or things like confetti parties but no these people are just as boring and dry as the release of the gollum game.
I am so lucky that the whole cheater epedemic went almost completely over my head. I faced maybe 5 cheaters during the whole time, and I play daily. I think this is mainly to me A) not being a streamer and B) that my more altruistic playstyle during the EGC prevented me from reaching high MMR where all the cheaters are. Besides from the one or two lagswitchers I encountered when the game was still P2P, I faced a duo (right when DBD came to Windows Store and had crossplay with it) who did all the god-mode stuff before it became popular. They even cheated Legacy and used the fact, that you could not look at a cross-play profile (they cheated the "globe" next to their name too) so you could not properly report them with a ticket. During the epedemic I faced a screaming and speedhacking god-mode Claudette, who threatened me to hold the game hostage, 2 insta-gen cheaters, a Terminator Bot Spirit and a Nea who was subtle speed hacking but i caught her using auto-DH and getting impossible blinds. The only recent hacker was a really insidious player who got the impossible flashlight blinds as i carried people to the basement for an archive challenge. I found out who it was because all used flashlights with different blind durations and i measured the timings.
While the behavior of the hacker is kinda lame on its own, it really makes me wonder why there aren't more system checks in place to cancel a match if certain conditions change that shouldn't be possible. For instance, maybe have a collision detection above the map where players shouldn't be able to get to, and the moment its collided with, the match immediately ends. Even better, have the end game screen indicate WHY the match ended abruptly. I dunno, I know I'm not a game dev and for all I know these sorts of things are far more complicated than that to implement. But it still begs the question why the game is still so easily exploited.
There have been a lot of cheaters popping up. I have videos I still have to break down and send to BHVR from the event. Teleporting, speed hacking killers seem to be really common for some unknown reason (*cough* MFT *cough cough*) but it really sucks. Survivors are just as questionable to. I've had multiple, who I could see with aura reading, just teleport away from where they were when I blinked to them as Nurse.
I used to be targeted by a hacker. An Elodie in the pajamas. They changed their name or switched accounts a lot but I knew it was them. They used the same hacks and did the same thing every time. When they added the hidden matchmaking delay feature it stopped them but for a good 3ish months I could only play one or two killer games before having them in my lobbies. It was really annoying. But it got sorted out in the end I suppose
Yep, had this happen a couple of times, now. Mori me with no way to mori, locking me out of my game. I'm not a streamer - but it makes me suspicious of matches.

I recently faced against a console player who would teleport to all of my totems and immediately break them. Since I was knight I sent a guard to the totem and then she disappeared and the guard was just running into the wall. I don't understand how behavior still hasn't made a good way to report console players
no matter what I always find hackers funny because their either A. Terrible at the game and need to cheat, or B. Cant be arsed to try and be good at it. But this is getting ridiculous now, hackers are everywhere nowadays and game devs need to take action
Yeah, sometimes it’s funny when it’s just gameplay hacking. But they have DDOSed and doxxed players, from big streamers to regular players. That’s when it gets serious. BHVR needs to take much more swift and harsh action against these people, an IP ban is not going to stop a hacker, they’ll just use a proxy next game. They need to be issuing hardware bans to make it much harder.
Cheaters are the saddest people. They pay to "win" at games that mean nothing. Winning with cheats isn't even real winning cause you have no real skill. It's pathetic.

I just played vs this guy, I had a ttv in my lobby. He has a new twitch and dbd account (he said on stream that he used VPN to get it). He still has a stream of the streamer he's sniping in a corner. He played huntress and had enormous hitboxes, which had me suspicious but then he used speedhack as well and made it obvious. What is more interesting, while using speedhack he covered his screen cause he was scared xD. Unfortunate for him I recorded both his hitboxes and speedhacks and reported both his twitch and dbd acc with video attached.
I played against that guy, made a clip of it and a ticket on the support forms. he felt really good doing it and started trash talking afterwards thinking he was actually godtier hahaha
Met this hacker around 10 days ago. 1st time i was surprised he was able to find me that quickly while he was playing Spirit and thought he had lethal pursuer. Funny thing is that i was able to juke him once with him using hacks XD. All of us died, said GG and moved on. Next game i met him straight away again. My chat warned me it was him again and i knew i would lose. I was simply laughing at him bc of him using hacks. He moried me and had to DC after being kept hostage. Reported him to Twitch and steam. Unfortunately his steam is still up. Glad he's banned now but hope it was a IP ban :/
Had a cheater in my lobby over the weekend. Flying around, trying to permastun me, getting impossible blinds, opening the exit gate with 1 gen left… the other survivors helped him bully me. Hope all 4 get banned.
I played against this guy. He was playing huntress and he was hitting hatchets through objects and then proceeded to mori me (when he didnt have any mori offering/perk) and hold me hostage, so i had to dc in order to get out
My first game tonight on stream was exactly this, Hunty on Temple. Went for me, caused the 3 other survivors to dc, carried me to top of temple and mori’d me and I had to dc to get out. They were on anon mode and I’m on console so I can’t even report :(
Russian players disproportionately hack in DBD and in most online video games in general, several of the old DBD modding servers promoted hacking, and it was always in Russian. I've played this dumbass game in every region, and I can say without a doubt that I ran into more hackers while on East EU than any other region.
Only Russian who i know that doesn't cheat is a guy named Vorobey on TH-cam whos a tf2 TH-camr. I wish others were like him and just got good at the game

It's like talking about morals of killing to a maniac - you can talk about morals all you want but in the end he wouldn't even let you finish and just put a bullet in your head. To him, his objective is fulfilled - killing another person, although that is not a "goal" or "rules" of life. How he do it - is his thing, and to him it's the "right" way. Yikes... I'm lucky that I have yet to encounter a cheater/stream sniper, at least to my knowledge, but I can't imagine the frustration others must feel having to deal with this, especially when they stream themselves using exploits and think it's some sort of fun tactic and that they're so good.
I don't understand how this can be fun for anyone. What's the advantage of cheating, other than making the game miserable for everyone else and holding people hostage until they're forced to DC and get a penalty for it? It just blows my mind that people are like this. I'm glad this person was finally banned on stream, but unfortunately I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they either make a new account or someone else starts this ridiculousness again.
I hope BHVR continues to work on stopping cheaters/hackers and continues to ban them. Maybe one day they'll have a better method implemented to make it easier to just automatically get rid of these types of people.

Stream sniping tools and functions exist and that is how ppl snipe certain popular streamers, however there are restrictions like you need to be on the same MMR as the person you intend to snipe. Targeted cue snipes happen using names, steam64IDs and cloud IDs. So someone can just put TTV in their names list alongside a bunch of variations of it and get streamer lobbies every time.
I feel like the obvious cheats have become a lot more rare, but I also feel like a lot more people are using wallhacks and other stuff... I play in anonymous mode and my profile is private as well, and I've had a bunch of people be like "your name is funny" or "you have 4K hours, you gotta carry us" when there's no way they should've known that...

I was running into hackers quite a bit. Most of it was just speed hacks but the last one was a hacking Claudette who downed herself on top of the little shed next to guard shack on Ormond. Super proud of themselves too.
Sadly, I've been leaning more and more towards finding other games, not because of hackers. I just don't have the fun that I used to have with DBD.
My friend vs a tunnel head (pyramid) have teleport and speedhacks on midwich 💀 I myself had a blight freeze my character and my friend’s character after an unhook so he could get 2 easy downs 💀 all happened before the 7th anniversary event
In the last week and a half I've had only two hacking survivors, thankfully...but have had quite a few over the years.....they didnt hold me thankfully, but it's still a bit annoying to get them even if they're chill about it because I have to then tunnel out the other survivors just to make sure they dont end up being held
I wish we had fun hackers who give everyone a terrormisu for the match, or swapping models for killer and survivor, or things like confetti parties but no these people are just as boring and dry as the release of the gollum game.
The fact that twitch let this stream go on as long as it did, as well as dbd auto ban from mass report not activating is abysmal
I am so lucky that the whole cheater epedemic went almost completely over my head. I faced maybe 5 cheaters during the whole time, and I play daily. I think this is mainly to me A) not being a streamer and B) that my more altruistic playstyle during the EGC prevented me from reaching high MMR where all the cheaters are.
Besides from the one or two lagswitchers I encountered when the game was still P2P, I faced a duo (right when DBD came to Windows Store and had crossplay with it) who did all the god-mode stuff before it became popular. They even cheated Legacy and used the fact, that you could not look at a cross-play profile (they cheated the "globe" next to their name too) so you could not properly report them with a ticket.
During the epedemic I faced a screaming and speedhacking god-mode Claudette, who threatened me to hold the game hostage, 2 insta-gen cheaters, a Terminator Bot Spirit and a Nea who was subtle speed hacking but i caught her using auto-DH and getting impossible blinds.
The only recent hacker was a really insidious player who got the impossible flashlight blinds as i carried people to the basement for an archive challenge. I found out who it was because all used flashlights with different blind durations and i measured the timings.

Hackers are either humble funny and chill but also tend to leave the game up to the skill of the other players, or babies who can't win so they cheat
While the behavior of the hacker is kinda lame on its own, it really makes me wonder why there aren't more system checks in place to cancel a match if certain conditions change that shouldn't be possible. For instance, maybe have a collision detection above the map where players shouldn't be able to get to, and the moment its collided with, the match immediately ends. Even better, have the end game screen indicate WHY the match ended abruptly. I dunno, I know I'm not a game dev and for all I know these sorts of things are far more complicated than that to implement. But it still begs the question why the game is still so easily exploited.
I mean. That doesnt sound impossible, but frankly, I'm not a game developer, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

There have been a lot of cheaters popping up. I have videos I still have to break down and send to BHVR from the event. Teleporting, speed hacking killers seem to be really common for some unknown reason (*cough* MFT *cough cough*) but it really sucks. Survivors are just as questionable to. I've had multiple, who I could see with aura reading, just teleport away from where they were when I blinked to them as Nurse.

I used to be targeted by a hacker. An Elodie in the pajamas. They changed their name or switched accounts a lot but I knew it was them. They used the same hacks and did the same thing every time. When they added the hidden matchmaking delay feature it stopped them but for a good 3ish months I could only play one or two killer games before having them in my lobbies. It was really annoying. But it got sorted out in the end I suppose
Yep, had this happen a couple of times, now. Mori me with no way to mori, locking me out of my game. I'm not a streamer - but it makes me suspicious of matches.

I recently faced against a console player who would teleport to all of my totems and immediately break them. Since I was knight I sent a guard to the totem and then she disappeared and the guard was just running into the wall. I don't understand how behavior still hasn't made a good way to report console players
no matter what I always find hackers funny because their either A. Terrible at the game and need to cheat, or B. Cant be arsed to try and be good at it. But this is getting ridiculous now, hackers are everywhere nowadays and game devs need to take action
Yeah, sometimes it’s funny when it’s just gameplay hacking. But they have DDOSed and doxxed players, from big streamers to regular players. That’s when it gets serious. BHVR needs to take much more swift and harsh action against these people, an IP ban is not going to stop a hacker, they’ll just use a proxy next game. They need to be issuing hardware bans to make it much harder.

I just played vs this guy, I had a ttv in my lobby. He has a new twitch and dbd account (he said on stream that he used VPN to get it). He still has a stream of the streamer he's sniping in a corner. He played huntress and had enormous hitboxes, which had me suspicious but then he used speedhack as well and made it obvious. What is more interesting, while using speedhack he covered his screen cause he was scared xD. Unfortunate for him I recorded both his hitboxes and speedhacks and reported both his twitch and dbd acc with video attached.
I played against that guy, made a clip of it and a ticket on the support forms. he felt really good doing it and started trash talking afterwards thinking he was actually godtier hahaha

Met this hacker around 10 days ago. 1st time i was surprised he was able to find me that quickly while he was playing Spirit and thought he had lethal pursuer. Funny thing is that i was able to juke him once with him using hacks XD. All of us died, said GG and moved on. Next game i met him straight away again. My chat warned me it was him again and i knew i would lose. I was simply laughing at him bc of him using hacks. He moried me and had to DC after being kept hostage. Reported him to Twitch and steam. Unfortunately his steam is still up. Glad he's banned now but hope it was a IP ban :/
Had a cheater in my lobby over the weekend. Flying around, trying to permastun me, getting impossible blinds, opening the exit gate with 1 gen left… the other survivors helped him bully me. Hope all 4 get banned.
I played against this guy. He was playing huntress and he was hitting hatchets through objects and then proceeded to mori me (when he didnt have any mori offering/perk) and hold me hostage, so i had to dc in order to get out

My first game tonight on stream was exactly this, Hunty on Temple. Went for me, caused the 3 other survivors to dc, carried me to top of temple and mori’d me and I had to dc to get out. They were on anon mode and I’m on console so I can’t even report :(
Russian players disproportionately hack in DBD and in most online video games in general, several of the old DBD modding servers promoted hacking, and it was always in Russian. I've played this dumbass game in every region, and I can say without a doubt that I ran into more hackers while on East EU than any other region.
Russians in general just tend to turn every game they touch into shit.

Only Russian who i know that doesn't cheat is a guy named Vorobey on TH-cam whos a tf2 TH-camr. I wish others were like him and just got good at the game

It's like talking about morals of killing to a maniac - you can talk about morals all you want but in the end he wouldn't even let you finish and just put a bullet in your head. To him, his objective is fulfilled - killing another person, although that is not a "goal" or "rules" of life. How he do it - is his thing, and to him it's the "right" way. Talking ain't doing anything to these psychos, puts no barrier between him and his fulfillment, they just love causing pain to others - physical or emotional.
