Thank You So Much! Lately I been stressed to the max & just a few days ago discovered the calming magic of watching time lapse Mother Nature IN ACTION. I watched blooming flowers & felt wonderful afterward. I just asked Google for Mother Nature time lapse vids & clicked on yours. I began smiling as soon as I heard the soft jazz. I feel much better. This entire time lapse is like watching a whimsical Pixar short! I grew larger (but not giant) sunflowers outdoors near my vegetable garden last summer and they grew taller than 6 ft! It did take them some time to grow but after a month they had adapted and really took to the environment. I had many growing out of three seedlings. Such a joy to see them!
I waited until September to cut the flower heads and then harvest the seeds!
Squirrels stole all mine when fully grown late summer .looking after nature 😂

The flower opening was so scary for some reason 💀and what did it did tho? Did it not get enough nutrition or smth?
I felt chills all over my body as soon as the flower started blooming. This is transformation at it's finest.

I've planted 2 varieties of Sunflowers (The 2m and the 30cm 'Dwarf')
Both have taken about 8 days to germinate.
The 2m is getting too big for my small greenhouse and will soon be transferred into the ground, and the dwarf (that was planted later) is already getting it's 3rd pair of leaves.
Might be getting some 'Teddy Bear' Sunflower seeds from a nice lady so I look forward to planting those as well :D
its all fun and games until it produces sun and you hear "The zombies are coming!!"

i think so, remember reading somewhere that all sunflowers belong to the hole
my kiddo started growing two sunflowers at school and they were so tall and flopping over and it just didn't seem right. after watching the first half of this, i think the problem may have been that they were grown in too shallow a pot for too long. they didn't have the space to put down lots of good roots, so all that energy went to height. i really hope i can still preserve them and help them grow. I repotted them the other day with my kiddo's help, but they are still limp lil noodles lol. it has only been a day, but i really hope they start to thrive soon. maybe i'll get a couple supports for them.
Hope your sunflowers are a little better. I’m in the same boat lol mine brought home 2 from school, really want them to grow 🌻 One is goin limp, the other seems to be alright. Going to repot them both and hope that at least 1 will thrive :)

Wow.. so I’ve noticed if I start seeds outside in soil they don’t do well at all.. but if I start them inside and then bring them out once the roots are established they do a lot better. However I’m contemplating doing some plants that generally would not grow in my region. In hopes I can get them to adapt.

The best thing I've seen ever in my life!
Anyone here who is trying to grow a sunflower, be patient. In the video, his plant sprouts out of the soil after 3-4 days, if it has been 4+ days for you and your sunflower hasn't come out of the soil yet, be patient.
I have planted 2 sunflower seeds, been watering them everyday and gave them one banana water fertilizer. The first seed came out of the soil only at the 8th day, and the second still hasn't come out and it's been 10 days since I planted it.
*Edit:* it is now 5 days since i wrote this comment, so the 15th day, the first plant which sprouted used to have 2 leaves at first, now it has 4 leaves, it has developed the 3rd and 4th true leaves (the first two come in every plant), and is developing the 5th and 6th leaves.
About the second seed, i am sure it is about to sprout tomorrow, i see a little green poking out of the place where it is, and tomorrow i expect to see it sprouted and have 2 leaves.
So it look 8 days for one of my sunflower seeds to sprout, and ~16 for the other.
Be patient when handling plants.
*Edit 2:* What i didn't tell you is, 2 more seeds have been planted in the pot, a few days after the first seed sprouted, and the second did not. Well, now the second seed is poking out of the soil more, it did not fully sprout, but the 2 new seeds are also poking out. So one growing plant, 4 leaves and 5th and 6th getting bigger, and 3 other plants poking out of the soil. I realizsd the reason why the 3rd and fourth seeds came so fast, and why the first two took more than a week is because i buried the first two too deep.
Now i am wondering, should i remove 2 of the plants there? It seems like they are too close to eachother.
I have a question, in last of video, that flower starting withered, i think that flower should be a seed, but that just dead, how can i get a sunflower until the flower get seed

Can you give me some tips on how to grow sunflowers because they are really cool. For example, when you should plant them, how many times a week/day should you water them and stuff like that? It would really help thank you :)
Just planted like thirty hopefully they all grow. I messed up when I planted ALL the seeds upside down, so I had to go back mix it up but they should be good. I could have a lot of sunflowers, might have to give some away
