Listening to this on my Yamaha Stagepass 1K. I love it! it replaced a very complicated system and it sounds ten times better. Yamaha knows what they are doing. Had a 4 person band rehearsal with everyone plugged in and it was easy and clear. No feedback, full bass and clear vocals. Used the onboard effects. Backing tracks via Bluetooth, never had a signal drop.
Just had my first rehearsal with our new Stagepas 1K. Talk about efficiency and maintaining their engagement! As the students were entering the rehearsal room, I was able to start playing the original recording from my phone about 30 ft. away in MY OFFICE! Once they got to their pans, they tried to play the tune along with the track. Instant focus was achieved! It was a great segue from the pre-rehearsal lesson in the adjacent classroom. During the rehearsal, I was able to occasionally play back the Finale/MP3 version of my arrangement....and of course utilize the most important track, the click from my metronome app! This was all achieved while roaming around the room with my phone in hand and addressing individual needs. At the end of rehearsal as they were leaving the room, I had an impulse moment to provide "exit music" from my Spotify app. I had as much fun as the kids!
Nice review. Thank you for addressing with two units your inputs on the second unit are active. My problem with this unit is how they divided the wattage. 810 bottom/ 190 to top. Seems like the top end will be very weak for cutting through the bass and reaching audience. Your opinion would be appreciated.
What a terrific video!! Can you tell me how to hook up a loudspeaker out of this unit? I'd like to beef up my sound and haven't decided if I want to purchase another 1k just yet. Your help would be greatly appreciated because I'm not certain how to hook my dxr 2 speaker. ♡
@@BrightonMusicCenter You are WONDERFUL!!!! Many, many thanks....I have not found any info on the net regarding the best way to hook it up. You are appreciated!!
I love the idea of using 2 of these where each mixer work together in tandem. However if I need even more channels, how can I set up an external mixer?
Hello Lenti, you can easily plug an external mixer into the one of the line inputs. And remember, when you link two of these systems together, what ever is plugged in to one of them will come out of both. So, using 2 you actually have a 6 channel mixer. Let me know if you have any other questions, or stop in and check them out. Thanks!!
@@BrightonMusicCenter thanks so much for your reply. Does that mean that the 2 mixers will function as a stereo mixer with 6 XLR mic inputs when the 2 stagepass units are linked? Great review and I'd love to visit you but I'm in Australia. Cheers
@@madness8556 In the app there is a pan control. That would leave me to believe that the answer to your question would be yes. I don't have 2 in stock at the moment to test it.

I had a Maui 28 G2, the Maui is more powerful than the STAGEPAS 1k. My Maui sub stopped working was a nightmare to get sorted so bought a STAGEPAS 1k. STAGEPAS good for small gigs plus don’t need to use all the collum’s. I link a Alto T312 to the Yamaha to give it more power.
This unit is not ready to be a pro unit. The amp went out on mine, Yamaha had me take out the amp module and return just that. They "repaired" it, I received, reinstalled, and it is still not working. No lights, no sound. The system uses a solenoid protection system that does not protect the amp components, It seems only for a power surge. A true protection circut monitors the transistors, ICs, speakers and inputs. The 1K does not.
Ricky thanks for that good insight. Sorry to hear that happened to you. Do you have any idea what caused it - electrical surge? I wonder if any of the other major manufacturers have different protection schemes on these column systems (eg JBL, EV, LD systems etc.).

That's fantastic to hear, Yamaha really knocked this out out of the ballpark!!
I buy one yesterday and it souds sooooo good that i went back and get me the 2nd one now you can imagine i recommend this to everyone
When the two are plugged in together can you use all 8 channels or just the 4 channels from one side?
@@JoeyCalderaio you can hook up 2 units using XLR cables and you'll then have access to 6 mic inputs and 2 stereo inputs running in mono.

Thank you for your comment, and we’re glad you’re loving your new Stagepas 1K!!!
Out of all the reviews on this unit, this was the most helpful. Thanks!
Playback of of your playlist and the Bluetooth is priceless . Reverb is awesome . I want a 2nd one. The EQ works great !
Thanks, Richard, for this review of the new Yamaha StagePas 1K. Could it accommodate 2 vocals (mics) and 2 guitars?

Very Nice! I'm considering a pair of these! Thank you Rich!

Hi, is it a possibility to add an extra subwoofer next to the 1K? Does that make sense? Imho the enclosure has its limitations...
