Hi there, I'm happy to hear that you were able to make one this way. I like this better than using cardboard for a more 3D look. Glad my video helped! Thank you so much for watching and for your wonderful comment! I truly appreciate it!
@@the12makeit I like the 3D look as well. Do you happen to have a video on making an egg shaped piñata? I have another birthday coming up for my other daughter and she wants a Dino themed so I was thinking doing a Dino egg
@@giannaaaaaaaaa I do have a video I was working on an egg theme pinata. I still have to edit it. Hopefully I can make finish it soon in time for you to watch and make it for the event you are planning on having. How I make an egg pinata? These are the step I make: I get 2 balloons (1 bigger than the other), add paper mache to both about 3/4th of the from the bottom going up of the balloon, then attached both when they are dried. I then add rope around the egg shape which will still leave a bit of the middle not shaped evenly for an egg shape. To fix that, I hot glue posterboard to the middle to even the egg shape. I then add another layer of paper mache. Let dry, prime and then paint. I will upload the video soon. Hope this helps until then.
Hi there, Thank you for asking. I add the candy after I finish it which I usually make a hole near the top a but close to the string area. In the video at 8.22, that is where I make the hole. I hope I answered your question, if not please elaborate. Please let me know if you have any questions.
@@the12makeit if you decide to do a pinata again I would go with a popular theme like baby shark I was searching for videos for pinatas for my sons birthday and they were so expensive 60$ plus I made one for 20 dollars about I used cardboard . Maybe different crafting ideas good luck❤❤❤
Hi there, Thanks for watching. I'm sorry as I currently only make them for family and close friends. Perhaps in the future I would but I fear shipping would be very expensive for the size of the pinatas I make. Let me know if you have a pinata in mind and I will try to make it as a DIY video.
Thanks for watching. Great question. I used a thick, nylon crochet rope that is basically 3 smaller ropes twisted together to give more support. Its pretty strong. So to answer your question, yes I would bet that it would hold 7 lbs of candy. I have yet to have one I had using that nylon rope, that tore when hitting the pinata. I buy it at Walmart. Its round $4.50 to $5 for a roll. I don't play with which kind of rope to use with pinatas for the same reason. Its time consuming and lots of work to only use a basic rope for it. That one holds a lot of weight and even better when more than one section is secured. Its distributes the weight to each rope end that I tie on the pinata. Other pinata makers, only put the rope on the top of pinata they make which of course the pinata falls off rope when hit. I do not do that as you can see in the video I make for pinatas. I at least add 3 rope sections for a better hold. Thanks for asking. I'm sure others are thinking the same. Great question. Hope this helps in case you are considering on making one. I'll have more pinata videos coming soon. I got sick over the last 2 months so I put videos on hold temporally.
@@cexxcellz Its called "Red Heart Nylon Crochet Thread" and has a number 18 on the wrapper as well. Not sure what the 18 means. You can see it on another video on mine. "How to make a pinata- Paint Palette Pinata - DIY" and skip to 5:39 of the video to see the wrapper before I take it off the package and you will see that I put 6 sections of rope for that pinata because that one had 2 candy compartments. So that was a lot of candy. You should find it in the fabric section in the area for the knitting or crochet string/yarns are located. That's were I find the one I use. It comes in colors of black, cream, or sometimes red. Let me know how it goes. Remember is you are making one of cardboard, I would add at least 4 sections for rope. If you are making a balloon type where most of the candy would be located, then I make a circle will the rope, then attached 4 strings of rope to that one circle and "wrap" the rope around that balloon. Hope I'm not to confusing in my description. I should be making video soon of a balloon type of pinata soon.
@@mirachett1 I used twine before and I'm assuming on the thinkness of the twine I used, it tore while kids were hitting it so I had to find a better alternative just to be sure it would not happened again. Best wishes!

what size is the tube you used?
It was a 36 inch inflatable tube I believe. I have bought several of them when they went on sale. Its not the small size. Its a tube size for adults.
