Muslims struggle with these violent verses and have been telling me, “well it’s just in that context.”
There is never any context or time or place that would make these violent acts justified!
A message from God should be above societal norms and be a “perfect” way. Which clearly none of this is a way to act or behave.
How can that be used as an excuse?

“When the literal word of a deity requires repeated, long-winded explanations from his human followers simply TO PREVENT IT BEING INTERPRETED TO MEAN WHAT IT ACTUALLY SAYS, it doesn’t make a great case for divine authorship. If anything can mean anything, the whole thing becomes meaningless”. Richard Dawkins

What I had noticed trying to delve into the Islamic demographic is that there are two types of liberal Muslim. One is genuinely against theocracy and fundamentalism and tackle the issue head on, the other is kind of a fake or superficial liberal who's really only concerned with preserving the image of Islam to a non-Muslim audience (Yassmin Abdel-Magied, Reza Aslan [ex-Muslim], Mehdi Hassan, Linda Sarsour). I have the utmost respect for true liberal Muslims (and ex-Muslims) discussing these things, and absolutely zero respect for the fake liberals trying to brush the conversation under the rug.

Non muslim need to know what going on. So they don't support things like islam law. Like how middle east most forvtge country only goes quran rules. No country should run on 7thcentery law.

    • @mahtazdin
      @mahtazdin 5 ปีที่แล้ว

In general. A country needs to run on law which run on hunan right. To all not just one set of religion group. We don't wanted be stuck at a country only run by bible law. Or quran law. All human being should be able to compromise. And live together.

    • @ManishAdhikari1

Reza Aslan is the Jordan Peterson of Islam. Well maybe not to that extent but in that direction. He does not seem to believe in literal hell. I wouldn't call him conservative but he is quite an apologist.

Yup your absoulety right!!! .. When we came here. My family and community. We mixed in very well with the community. those where my happy days!. And we pray 5times day and believe in God. That was perfect. I had no complaints!. I was hoping we would just stay at this norm for ever!. But it all started to change. If only muslim could have stay that way in General; Being modest and you pray and you do good for others. Now slowly the quran is brainwashing my mom and my community i am seeing the change:(. They are covering their heads and wearing nikab. eat halal is mandonary. Going To go huji. Also fasting. And ext... So the community that was mixing well now. Is not. Cuz now due to internet and more access to the religion in a deeper level. People are going backwards thinking more and more. And more people are converting too. :( is very very sad. You get what I am trying to express. :( I am feel like running away to another planet. Where we can all live. More peaceful.

Spot on. The convert woman clearly hasn't understood her religion to the fullest, or has turned a blind eye to the violent bits and has picked and chosen. For me if you don't agree with something 100% it's not worth worshipping and sacrificing your life for. 99% suggests its fallible and that's not good enough

@dimmy dunk I just do, I need God as it's a part of who I am and I feel everyone needs to feel a connection in some way to our creator. Faith is a personal thing. I was brought up catholic, then did not practice anything until my 20s when I found Islam and then I came out of that thank God and now here I am following Jesus , NOT religion

I agree with all of this. The problem is that getting stricter in most religions leads in the end to some monastery, temple or other form of seclusion and not a terrorist organisation.
Anyway for the Christians that think they are not cherrypicking and ignoring verses, think again :
    1 Corinthians 11
1 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.
2 I praise you for remembering me in everything and for holding to the traditions just as I passed them on to you. 3 But I want you to realize that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 4 Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 5 But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head-it is the same as having her head shaved. 6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.
7 A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man. 8 For man did not come from woman, but woman from man; 9 neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. 10 It is for this reason that a woman ought to have authority over her own head, because of the angels. 11 Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. 12 For as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God.
13 Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, 15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. 16 If anyone wants to be contentious about this, we have no other practice-nor do the churches of God.

Her Isis son came home one evening and told her that her music CDs are haram, her family photo album is haram, that failure to cover every inch of her body is haram, that shaking hands with her male colleagues is haram, that celebrating her birthday is haram, that being alone with a man is haram, and that many aspects of Western culture that we take for granted are haram, but she wants to pretend that these attitudes don't have their root in Islamic texts but were invented by Isis.
It's not Isis who brainwashed her son. It's she who did when she turned her back on Western civilization and joined a religion that teaches hatred against British culture. Isis just told him to be consistent with his newfound religion.

Mossad officer leading ISIS as mosque Imam arrested in Libya
Libyan authorities arrested a leader and mosque preacher of the ISIS terrorist group who later confessed to be a Mossad officer.
According to the Libyan authorities, preacher Abu Hafs’ real name is Benjamin Efraim, an Israeli national operating in one of Mossad’s special units which conduct espionage operations in Arab and Islamic countries.
The Libyan authorities said the Mossad spy has started his career in Libya by leading a 200-member ISIS-affiliated group and moved to Benghazi in disguise as a preacher.
According to them, Abu Hafs had attempted to infiltrate Egypt, adding that the group, under his command, is among the most barbaric terrorist groups which had threatened to export war to Egypt.
The report came in the backdrop of a number of reports that said ISIS Leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was also a Mossad agent although no credible evidence has yet been presented to substantiate the claim.
When the terror outfit attacked Iraq and conquered Mosul some three years ago, numerous reports have surfaced the media disclosing that tens of Mossad agents are leading ISIS fighters.
The report came as speculations are increasing within the ranks of ISIS over the possible successor of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi after the recent reports about his death.
According to last month reports, ISIS’s leader in Libya Jalalulddin al-Tunisi and ISIS’s leader in Syria Abu Mohammad al-Shamali are the main two picks to lead the terrorist group after al-Baghdadi.
Jalalulddin al-Tunisi, whose real name is Mohammad Bin Salem al-Oyoni, was born in 1982 and is a resident of the town of Masaken in Souseh province in Central Tunisia.
Al-Oyoni has also acquired the French nationality after his trip to the European country before joining terrorist groups in Tunisia in 2011-2012.
Al-Oyoni joined ISIS in Iraq and Syria in 2013 and 2014.
American and Iraqi sources claimed that six commanders of ISIS, including a Belgian-Algerian and a French member of the terrorist group are read to be the successor of al-Baghdadi.

There is no, “radical Islam”. Authoritarian is what Islam is. Of course, some people who are born and raised in an authoritarian state may be normal, peaceful people. No one sane disputes that.
Islam is an extremely aggressive, authoritarian political and social system. As we have seen across the globe, in nation after nation, where Islam reaches critical mass, violence ensues.
The only place this has not happened is in the US. It might be that our strict separation of church and state combined with American citizens being better armed than many nations, has prevented it or is merely holding it off a bit longer than has been the case in other nations.
Peaceful, law abiding people are welcome in the US. Islam is not, it’s compulsion to assume political authority is absolutely incompatible and unacceptable here.

Islam like all religions are based upon spiritual purification and promotion of good society and family, yet it is a tool, like any tool if utilsed in an incorrect manner it can be dangerous, which is why the clergy of Islam take it so seriously in getting your Islam correct. We all sin and therfore by default nobody is a perfect Muslim, yet I would feel it in error to say that Islam is in error. Reinterpretation is a constant thing with all dogma.

How come you haven’t spoken about verses like “Whosoever kills a person ... it shall be as if he has killed all mankind” and “if they incline to peace, incline thou also to it, and trust in Allah. Lo! He, even He, is the Hearer, the Knower.” Because you are an islamiphobe sister. I don’t go around calling people that, but you just aren’t leaving muslims alone. What do you have to do with them? What are you gaining from this? The answer is nothing. Absolutely nothing. In fact, if Muslims are violent so are Christians. Do your research. The Christian Church was ruthless with people whose faith was in any way a deviation from the canon, torturing and burning heretics at the stake. After Martin Luther pinned his theses to a church door, unintentionally spawning a new wing of Christianity, it led to hundreds of years of on-and-off religious warfare between Christians, spilling each other’s blood in the fervent belief that their vision of Christ was the truest. And it’s not ancient history: Violence between Protestants and Catholics continued in Christian Ireland until the very end of the 20th century.

Yea yea I'm pretty sure she knows those things already. However, just because violence happens in other religions it doesn't mean we can't talk about the violence in Islam as well. And she is an ex Muslim so she is well within her rights to talk about it. You call her an Islamophobe but I dont understand why. Have you ever thought that maybe she wants progression in Islam or maybe she wants Islam to do better and get with the times instead of literally going by what was said 1400 years ago. Being brave enough to critisize Islam is not Islamophobic. Don't start pointing the finger at Christianity to try and cover up the negatives of your own religion.

Il tell you how the violence in the quran can be justified, again i can give you many examples but il give a few
Any violence in the quran or strictly historical and references to battles, not a universal command for everyday muslims
Why its justified? Prophet muhammad saw was being persecuted and exiled from his home for approx 12 years, hence why the revelation was given to fight back and defend for yourselves from Allah
Isis on the other hand, prophet muhammad classed them as "khawarij", theres so much prophet muhammad saw said about them too
Whatever isis are doing has nothing to do with islam, you as an ex muslim should know that, whenever you see an interview with ISIS its always got to do with political aspects
There are people who take anything out of context with any religion, whether its judaism, christianity and islam, them people are extremist using religion as an excuse
Truth of the matter is majority of muslims are peaceful, and these verses are like strictly for that time and place, all scholars will agree on that, none will say otherwise or have a different interpretation of this
Furthermore to understand who funds Isis, its basically western governements, israel and saudi leaders, notice why majority of isis victims are muslims, notice why they dont go for israel, they are all linked
You have pointed out many things, i dont know if its a waste of time me typing all this up wheres the tafsirs to the verses? Its easy to refute your claims but too much to list, i would advise peole to read the tafsirs and to understand the context, not just what time it was talking about but the verses before and after.
