I love this. Talking about anything, is better than not talking at all. I have struggled with this since everything fell apart. Glen and I immediately decided that we were not going back to CLW. We just didn't ant any part of it. I still believe in God, but we've been on a five year break. I have decided not to go to church, mainly because I don't trust the organizations or the leaders. It took me a long time to realize that, although I didn't go through nearly what the younger people did, I now realize how much I was manipulated. The thing that has helped me the most is listening to others stories on this podcast. I'm so grateful for it, because I would've NEVER known to the extent that people were abused and harmed. I feel like the more that I'm learning, the cleaner I'm getting. I hope that makes sense. Thank you so much for doing this!!

Thanks to you all. It's wonderful to hear a discussion about the real, day- to day impacts & responses to being born into TLWF. Y'all are wonderful to be working so hard & passionately, while holding firm to your boundaries. Good for you, modeling your authenticity while demonstating vulnerability.

    Loved this. No notes.
Ok, JK, I do have some because I’m me, so of course I do.
    1) just talk: yes. 🙌 This is the real path to individual healing from this shit. JUST TALK. Tell and own your story from your personal perspective. Be brutal about it. it’s like a cheat code. You will slow that lizard brain down the more times it’s said, and that’s the anecdote to beat the fight or flight instinct.
    2) the only woman speaking up and making it a mission to truth tell on a podcast platform is “snarky”? 😂😂😂 of course someone said that about you, and none of these 3 dudes. I know you will, but keep being yourself, charity! and f*ck that guy!
This was such a fun conversation with the 4 of you. Thank you for it. ❤

I'll confess...I am somewhat defensive of JRS up until maybe 1970 to 72. I agree that he was, up to a point, much like basic Christian church teachings. (Yes, I am very familiar with a number of church denominations.)
Do I think we should have trusted him? Heck, no. IMO every one of us grown-ups should have seen red flags. ( I was a member since a child....not my choice.)
Am I grateful that I left in 1983 with kids? Absolutely! I don't have a clue why my family and friends stayed with G &M.
My agenda is to continue healing after the damage I have from being in a cult.

Hey, at some point JRS teaching stopped being Christian before G&M who did not seem to teach about the love of Jesus.
The church/ cult mission statements did not match their advertisements as being Christian when you listen to their messages.
