The best thing to do is to just skip a stupid p value test like the Levenes test and just assume the Welch correction anyway (as recommended by Andy Field)
@@fajrelbanna4570 i have the story book called 'an adventure in statistics' , the SPSS book and the R book(I also preordered his new version of the R book). I think STATA is fine and it's an easy switch from a other GUI based data program. I myself started with SPSS, went to jamovi/ jasp and atm I'm solely using R. Didn't take too long to switch ☺️

can you recommend one of his books, I can see most of them are on SPSS but I'm learning STATA

My question is: Why do you need equal variance between groups?
Unequal variance can result in bias and inconsistency when calculating particular statistics such as standard errors and confidence intervals
