I just bought mine, 40L waxed wood. It's a couple years old so I got a very good deal. Used it once- today. No complaints. Really like the finish. U shaped main compartment is brilliant. Giant loops are sexy af. It's a good looking bag.
Add two water bottle pockets, A hip belt and 2 buckle loops on the bottom and it would eb the perfect hiking pack. Really the less is more pack.

Question for dimension. Current Airline Carry-On Restrictions, does the 50 meet that requirements or is it too big that it has to Checked-In? Thanks...Never mind, finally paid attention to Features: 40L is carry-on size
MYSTERY RANCH NEEDS TO IMPROVE SOME OF ITS DESIGNS. Must focus mainly on strength instead of just LOOKS. They do look real good. As of the model 2019-20, my Mission Duffel 40 Backpack SHOULDER STRAPS is presently end strip SEWN/STITCHED on the thin fabric LINING ONLY of the inside front pocket. The top anchor loops loosen and do not retain the bag load after continuous prolonged wear then Bag load is transferred to anchor on shoulder strap lining. Breaks my heart to see that a supposed high end specific purpose BAG manufacturer/designer let this happen. There is NO WAY that stitching will hold or last. Pardon my mentioning.... Maxped never had issues like these for all their flagship and large models. That said, I love and appreciate most of Mystery Ranch Gear options & especially the looks and I can't wait for the improved versions.
At first glance , you sound like a troll. But you have a valid point about the shoulder straps. That was one of the first things I noticed when mine came in the mail. If you’re even a tiny backpack connoisseur, it’s hard not to notice those details. We’ll see if they hold up.
@@jessefleming1421 I just needed to get MRs attention. I do love their products and hope to help them make even better ones. My 40 anchor straps have slipped off a few times. Maybe they were not properly hooked. But the worst is, when the buckle slightly loosens, when that happens, the load is carried by that thin fabric lining I mentioned. So, since then, I only use the 40 for lighter load when backpacked, and never use as a backpack for heavier loads. Do let me know how you address this. I am tempted to sew the anchor strap to the anchor point but the straps won't be concealable anymore. So, I just let it be.
@@tamirobo I hear you. What’s the fix right? Like you said, if you try to re-sew it, to reinforce, it won’t be concealed. They should’ve put another layer back there, even a thicker patch would’ve been better. I guess they want us to focus on the “duffel” feature and not the backpack option. You’re 100% right though, seems like it’s an oversight and it doesn’t instill a lot of confidence to use this product as a backpack. I’ll keep you posted as I use it more.
I purchased mine for $120.00, so regardless of the shortcomings, you can get one hell of a bag for a pretty decent price.

Wood nylon wax is durable enough or not?
My woodwaxed finish still looks pretty good sans the dirt and bottom scuffs. Haven't tried washing it yet.
The question is the 55and 90s can go with you like carry on to the plan,?
