Hello sir, I am an architecture student. SketchUp is really essential for us. And due to this pandemic we are compelled to do the classes online and it's really hard to understand anything during the class. But your videos are helping me a lot. And I am just watching these for the first time today. You explained everything very well and in details. Thank you very much.
I was literally at the climbing gym (masks on!) with a friend 30 minutes ago telling him about using sketchup to plan doors and windows on a new build. This couldn’t be more perfect! Thanks for all your great videos
Thank You so much for these sketchup tutorials, It really helped me on how to get better on CAD designs and learn how to do designing for architecture. Your teaching is really helpful and detailed!
Thank you sir. Sincerely a tutorial. Your a real teacher. A little bit fast for me but I get a hang of it. Wish you more success sir. You really did a great job teaching us the essentials..
Thank you Justin for the videos. I am learning sketchup and this helps. I love designing floorplans. I hope one day I can master the program as you do so well.
ok so you're telling me people waste their time building all these windows every time they need to do a design??? Thats insane. The program should have it already.
Hey there. What is the reason for inverting the face of the objects drawn? I’ve seen you do it a few times but I may have missed the explanation in a previous video. Very helpful
Loved the video but in no way these windows were Cooperating with me,so I just took doors and windows from the warehouse and adjusted them. way faster for me, But I was also lucky to find what I needed.
Excellent videos! At 1min 21s, I do not get the frame just created cutting right through the wall like you do? At 1min 29s, your video shows a kind of window ledge, just before you use the push/pull tool. I cannot for the life of me get that ledge!! I create the window frame and cut out the middle - but no ledge!! This then causes a strange push/pull effect when I use that tool.
Thanks! Fiz os tutoriais até aqui com as medidas reais de um apartamento para testar se alguns móveis caberiam nele, e funcionou bastante. Muito legal seu método de explicação. E a versão web gratuita do SketchUp até que é bem completa.
why does it removes the geometry in the other side when i use the pushpull for the thickness of the frame? it just streches inside and leave the other side hollow
@@Thesketchupessentials You haven't! :( I spent 2-3 hours struggling with that. I suggest this info is made sticky. I think, apart from people who love the video but didn't do hands-on in SketchUp, a lot of folks might struggle with this.
Hello, Thank you, you explain very well. you've inspired me to learn, when I was about to give up.😊 I'm having a *BIG ISSUE* in sketchup Vray, I inserted few vray rectangles lights and changed their color to orange and intensiy - 100, units - radiant power (w), and I saved my work and when I reopen it the colors are set to default white, intensity -30 and unit- Scalar, alll settings are reset default with their names! Can you please help me solve this issue?
Is it necessary to name all the groups created?? Since in this video you r not naming them (or maybe off screen). Because whenever I group an object it automatically enters layer 0 and then I’ll rename them. Thnx for the great videos mate! Learned a lot from you 😊
4:21 When I try to follow, the part where I make the window pane, I can't make a component inside the group, when I triple click the pane it selects the window frame with it
Maybe it is a bit late but just draw the lines without "opening" the window group. By doing so, and selecting the new rectagle, the component it is created without problems. Cheers 😊
Okay...I'm having a tough time with this program and I don't know if it's the 'free' version, the age of my computer or the age of my brain. The latest glitch is that I create the face within the window, offset 2" in and delete the centre but when I then select the 2" face and try to push it the face moves back away from the front so I end up with a hollow area under the offset line, in other words the front face gets pushed to the back but does not create a solid window frame. No idea why this is happening.

These tutorials are nice but Please make a full long tutorial video of a very simple house from importing a cad file to rendering. it's confusing your videos have no sequence to follow suit
@@Thesketchupessentials Hi! I solved the same issue. I have made the group of external walls but inspite of that my window frame is pinned too that group. But then I found out that I need to pay attention in the phase when I start to make the window frame I must not be inside the external walls group ;)
Rhino is on my list, but I'm currently building this channel, as well as my new Blender channel and a Fusion 360 channel, so it's probably a ways out still unfortunately
I really wanted to watch this video, but the constant vocal fry grates on my nerves like finger nails on a chalk board. Sorry, I hope others got something out of it.
I did. Just thought I would give some feedback so you can consider on how to improve your presentation in order to reach more people. Apparently that isn't a concern of yours. @@Thesketchupessentials

How can one get a job in "architecture" by just knowing how to draw 3D models???

One thing I'm learning is the importance of grouping things within groups in order to stop them from interacting.

After offset step when I use push pull. This thin created frame goes back all the way without adding thickness to it... Please solve this issue

Tap control with push pull active - I thought I mentioned that in the video

On Macbook it's the Option key. Just mark the surface, switch to the push & pull tool, select the border and tab option. You'll then see the change.

Hallo, can we use extensions with sketchup free and how?
My building is opaque and i can see other walls through it. How can i change that?
Okay...I'm having a tough time with this program and I don't know if it's the 'free' version, the age of my computer or the age of my brain. After you activate push pull and click on the face, tap the "control" key to go into create new face mode to solve this issue :)
Why do you reverse faces?
Good question... is there any other reason than avoiding blue color on the face?
i only came to this video for architectural plans door sweeps in sketchup....oh well
Push pull not creating frame it’s pushing the face alone through the bottom of the window
Thanks alot
