You are absolutely right. Lashkar-e-Taiba is an arm of the Pakistani army. Actually the Pakistani army and ISI is very smart, they get to have a roster of inexpensive jihadi proxies, that are very cheap. There is no pension and other obligations when compared to Pakistani army regulars. This is one of the reasons why Pakistani army maintains an alphabet soup of Jihadi proxies. And Lashkar specifically is dear to the Pak army because it is against killing any Pakistani, even if it is a Hindu or an Ahmadiya. Ideologically they gel very well with the Pakistani army and ISI.
That shows you that if our security agencies want to work they can pull off some tough assignments
