If you like what you're hearing, be sure to check out my channel, where you can find all of my A Song of Ice and Fire recorded chapters in order in playlists! And leave a comment! I don't care about any youtube algorithm reach nonsense but I love hearing from people who are listening!
I am in no sense a professional reader, voice actor, or what have you. I began this audiobook project some years ago when some friends of mine jokingly said they'd read A Song of Ice and Fire (my favorite fantasy series) if I personally recorded the whole series in audiobook form and sent it to them. Having now made my way almost through the first two books in the series, I decided to join the small community of people who post their own amateur audibook readings to youtube, and share my efforts.
I have no intention of profiting off of the work that is copyrighted to George RR Martin. This upload is a tribute to a series I deeply love, and I strongly encourage you to purchase these books. You won't regret it.
Also I should give full credit to my cat, Claudio, for the frequent background meows and purring sounds you hear throughout.

"I'll shove it up some place even Renly never found!"
God, I love Jaime!
Loras: There's no such place!
Jaime: What?
Loras: What?
This might be the best line in the book they didn't use in the show
I always love the gossip of the small folk 😂 and how warped the story gets
Like we are any different with all the news media today.
@@aerystargaryenii2565true, but at least our warped conception of something tends to stay somewhat grounded on reality, no one is chit chatting of... i dunno, Putin invading Ukrain with an army of undeads soviets soldiers lead by Stalin and Lenin ghosts, riding bears.
It could, if we didn't develop almost instant communication, but it does not.
Sansa's direwolf Lady is somewhere out there as a ghost...
@@giacomoromano8842 Yet the neo-Nazism of Ukraine goes largely unpunished and unnoticed.
@@comradestannisLady's pelt is out there.
I'm starting to believe that had Tywin have lived on, he might've considered Euron Greyjoy as a match for Cersei, if not the Night King.
😂😂😂💯
He was going to marry her to whoever could’ve got them more power
Jamie is such a great character
A top 5 POV for me, easily. Alongside Cersei, Sansa, Brienne, and Theon.
@@DavidReadsASoIaF Bravo! Especially with the Jaime*Tywin scene! Wonderful! Did you say once on a community post that you needed help? Possibly with narration? I've read both series several times and would love to volunteer in any way.
@@AmethystEmpressDivineTarot6589 Thank you for the offer! But I haven't really said anything like that. Right now, I'm just super busy with graduate school obligations, which has forced me to go on a (longer than I hoped for) recording hiatus. I hope to get back into it once I get over a few hurdles in the coming months.
You're a great character
@@DavidReadsASoIaF Tyrion isn’t in ur top 5? Jw
Omg Brienne with the voice of a depressed mafia boss lmao
Its killin meee
I hate Boston accents lol. Cant stop from listening though.
Lol depressed moffia boss. I like it.
““I have the honor of being Ser Osmond Kettleblack”
Where’s the honor in that?”
I love Jaime
The way Jaime stood up to Tywin made me smile
I love how Jaime is the only one of Tywin’s children who stands up to him and refuses him. After everything Jaime went thru prior to this chapter, the last thing he’s gonna do is submit to Tywin’s orders.
Hell yeah!
And Tyrion just goes along with what he says? I love how people recognize the good Jaime does but calls it arrogance when Tyrion does the same.
@@theelectricprince8231 Tyrioin is incredibly popular so I don't know what you're talking about.
@@comradestannis " love how Jaime is the only one of Tywin’s children who stands up to him " I was responding to the OG comment. There is a double standard, with certain readers, on how they react to Tyrion and Jamie. Both characters are far more similar than people notice. They are both snarky and arrogant (Jamie's mouths off just as much as Tyrion, their behaviour in captivity is so similar that it baffle me how no one has pointed it out), they are both brave and they both do horrible things for love (Jamie pushing Bran out the window for Cersei and Tyrion killing the musician for Shae, they also have terrible taste in women. Yikes!).
@@theelectricprince8231 Honestly? There are double-standards on both sides, not just with Jaime fans. And that can be said about the whole ASOIAF fandom and their respective favorite characters. I just don't think, in my opinion, that it's anything amiss as it's pretty much the norm and going after people who do that will just end up tiring yourself silly.
It would very funny to find out that Joffrey was trying to poison Tyrion because he found out about Bran but then ended up eating the poison himself.
Though I think everyone was trying to kill Tyrion but Joffrey ruined the plans. Imagine how many people walking around thinking it was their poison that killed Joffrey.
Everyone knew the Strangler was the only poison worthy enough to make him suffer.
I think the theory about Littlefigner being behind it is the most likely.
Easily my favourite character, his chapters are incredible.
I look forward to these. They’re perfect for my walk to work. Much thanks!
I thought the guy's name was Osmund Kettle _Black_
Like it's some take on "the pot calling the kettle black"
Still trying to figure out what George means by it 😅
I always think of Danny De Vito the penguin 🐧 in batman returns....
A penguin is a bird which cannot fly.... I am a man.... I have a name....
OSMUND........ KETTLEBACK!!!!!
(Oswald Cobblepot)
It is Kettleblack, I just think David forgot the L lol
(Oathkeeper) Ned
(Widows Wail) Catalyn
Oathkeeper is for Brienne and Jaime
Wow. Never thought about that
I really hate how the showrunners favouritism to the actress playing Cersei ruined this chapter.
Their favoritism toward Arya ruined the entire show lol
@@didimeanthe starks in general
@@danainfante5583 the end of the show is a stark fanboy ending.
One more great Jaime chapter.
Another great read. I eagerly look forward to the next chapter.
21:52 you have to love how Cersei, like female abusers and predators (pedos), creates the situation but starts feigning innocence. She did with Lancel also.
Jaime Lannister is back, and I like it.
That moment when there sex scene is both excruciatingly uncomfortable and makes me smile. I’m so weird.
14:19 I laughed at that.
I find myself in complete disgust as to how calmly Tywin drones on about his personal goals and plans while clearly expecting Jaime to obediently fall in line and do as he says, with no regard for his personal struggles or feelings or even the fact that he nearly DIED. Other than the personal insult to him, I doubt he would have really cared much if Jaime had died. When you think of it it's sort of funny how the man always thought being an overbearing, uncaring bastard served best in fulfilling his far overblown ambitions for his house, yet in the long run it may end up being one of the compounding factors of its fall. Clever as Tywin was, his cold heart was the one thing that blinded him to the far-flung consequences of his decisions.
Tywin does the same for Tyrion, he neglects his efforts in the black water and forces him to marry Sansa.
So Jaime wasn't at the purple wedding hadn't got back yet
Yea
15:48 I find it funny how no one calls Jamie a "nice guy" for this (he is not to be clear) but calls Tyrion that for something less worse.
15:52 he and Tyrion are so similar.
Jaime: I want to almost CoMfOrT her?!?! Perish the thought!1!
Jaime my man if i lost a child i would feel the same as him, in short NOTHING.
Y
Haha why does loras have a southern accent
Because he is from the south?
The Alabama-man voices are a bizarre choice. The Tyrells are rich, cultured people, making them sound like dopey farm folk is weird. And poor Brienne... Jesus...
The basic narration voice is great. If he just did a minor inflection to differentiate male and female voices this would be perfect.
@@ghadrackpotato960 Eh, he has the voice of a southern 1800 debutant. It fits in a way.
@@ghadrackpotato960 he sounds more like those rich southern landowners than a farmer.
He’s a wealthy landowner from the south who makes his money off of agriculture
19:50 yikes
Jaime really doesn’t care about joffrey
I don't think anyone but Cersei cared about him, and even then just because she pounded her own cruel, narcissistic mindset into his head from birth. She loved Joffrey because he was most like the reflection of herself.
