not many: fork risers (3cm), tkc80 tires, and projektracing high fender mount. rear mudguard taken off, and it's a 2019 model so it has high clearance.

crash bars were done by Seba, in Serbia, and were designed by two of us. unfortunately, he is working only regionally. I would reccomend you copy the design and find someone close to you that can do them alike. cheers!

agreed. it's a street bike, ofcourse it is uncomfortable :) you just get used to being in squat with bent knees and ass above passenger seat, and it works.

Tnx man! I bought risers along with my friend from some guy that made them on cnc primary for 390adv, but they were like last ones he had. Risers and bigger tires definitely helped in getting more clearance and taller riding position.

I have already fitted larger tires, Hyperpro progressive springs in the front forks (the original ones are too soft and have too short travel in my opinion) and a new shock absorber for the rear. It is already much better than the original, but I always thought it could be even better with a 2-3 cm rise in the front. Then I saw your tricky customization... I was wondering if I just need to put a tube of the same diameter of the forks to push them down a bit and fill the gap. Thanks for sharing your videos
Yeah, risers are wide at the bottom so they can fit forks, but narrower at the top so they can fit inside tripple clamp. Also what I forgot to mention is i have thicker oil inside forks (10 instead of 5) and it made a big difference. Thank you for watching :)
i think, not complete sure, but new models like 2023 the engine is closer to the floor maybe? tailpipe is below the carter so lost a few cm from to the ground, I couldn't compare two different models at the same time,but it looks like that in photos @@stavrozinio
@@Storggyes you're right. mine is 2019 model. 2020+ models have pipe underneath engine. you could technicaly use 390duke exhaust pipes that are pre-2019 and get the same clearance.

@@travisj2370 Mine is 2019, and i had to put in thicker oil so i dont bottom out on bumps (works great for jumps but I feel every speck of dust under the wheel offroad). Preload in the back is on max as well so I have total of +4cm clearance (now 21cm to skidplate). Svart is faster on road and twisties with it's lighter weight and taller seat. Rides a bit like a small supermoto. Xsr is simply faster on long straights. Also, I have 67-68kg, so that helps.

This looks just amazing. However, I don't that I would ever go there. We had too many refuges in our local community, and I can't forget what Serbia did, during the war in Ex-Jugoslavia. I could not relax, and would wonder if I was standing in front of warcriminals. But beautiful it is.

Brate! This is amazing. I'm a Serb Canadian, and did a road trip from BG to Budva with my pops in 2018. We stopped in Zlatibor and it was beautiful. yea it is very uncomfortable for standing. crashbars and tail rack are custom-made. currently got me a Norden so Svart will be on hold a bit with new mods until I finish with setting up Norden. thanks for comment man 🤙

I have some custom made cnc fork risers that give me around 3cm more in front. If you google fork risers for duke/adv 390 you might find something simillar bcs mine are not being produced anymore. Thanks!
just view the video after thinking this bike is best for me = light is right. the 17 front tyre is not optimum, but with some skills it looks ok. probably my unicorn i am looking for. perfect on twisty road and good skills due to weight ratio on unpaved. city would be optimum. Just affraid for motorway, may be with windshield additionnal that would solve the issue.

I'm looking forward to getting a Svartpillen 401 soon. It came down to choosing either the Svartpillen 401 or a Royal Enfield Himalayan for me, but in the end I decided to go with the Svartpillen. I love just about everything about the bike model.

Awesome video. Getting myself a Svartpilen 401 soon and while I won’t be doing this with it right away, I’m glad to see that it’s at least capable of some pretty good off-roading. Gonna build my skills up and eventually hit the more serious trails
Have in mind mine was very well prottected and clearance was higher than sstock 2019 model, and I didn't mind bashing it. But if you don't plan on agressive riding, go for it, it is worth it :) Cheers!
Thanks! Fork risers were done custom from some dude that did them for 390adv. I bought mines from the last bunch at that moment. You can google and I am sure you will find something similar.
I didn't know both bikes were so capable off-road. Good video and good end. 👌 Tyres are standard in both bikes? Did you change the pressure to do the trip?
I used to do that on Pirelli, but since I have tkc80 on it, their knobs are so soft there is no need for that to feel confident with grip. We did a lot of paved sections as well in between, so we just kept them normaly inflated. With fork risers, bigger tires and preload to max, I gained around 3cm of clearance, and with this being the 2019 model, it has a propper clearance as some adv bikes even stock, and its short wheelbase helps a lot. XSR here was not rised, but recently he put 19" in the front (whole tubeless set actually), fork risers, and different spring in the back, so it's a real scrambler now, closer to t7 than road bikes really :D Thanks for viewing. That’s a ton of abuse to throw at the 401 tho. Doubtful it’d hold up long in that environment. Love my ‘20 but on asphalt and NC/TN mountains, that’s where it really lives. Kudos to the off road stuff. It is a blast on fire roads and dirt, but you can’t stand up on the pegs and not be out of sorts.

on begining and in middle of a ~400km roundtrip with offroad. 5.3l/100km in city, but I am redlining it all the time. on trips like this, around 4l/100km.

I brate ,moze li po lepom ravnom putu u 6brz solo voznja pri 70,80kmh konstant laganom gasu da se postigne 3/L potrosnja ili i nize??
Za ovo sve sto si opisao, X-Cape (imas review na mom yt). 401 je premali, TRK je mega pretezak i bas slab. Trenutno mislim da je Tenere nov oko 10.000e na nekoj akciji, ali moze ti zasmetati sto je centar teze bas visoko. Moze potrosnja na Svartu da padne ispod 3 ako se bas stedi.. Al moze i na Nordenu (70kmh u 6toj je tacno 2.6l/100km) iako realno neces nikad tako voziti. Generalno mi je manja potrosnja na Nordenu (3.8-4.2) nego na Svartu (4.3-5) prosecno kad putujem u kombinaciji sa offroadom, al to su neke cifre koje su realno bitne tek ako ces praviti petocifrene kilometraze godisnje pa da kazes e ok ustedeo sam koji evric.

I also have a 401 and do some light off road and scrambling in Patagonia , Argentina. Have you done smthg for the standing position? For me its the biggest drawback for off road

yea it is very uncomfortable for standing. crashbars and tail rack are custom-made. currently got me a Norden so Svart will be on hold a bit with new mods until I finish with setting up Norden.

I have some custom made cnc fork risers that give me around 3cm more in front. If you google fork risers for duke/adv 390 you might find something simillar bcs mine are not being produced anymore. Thanks!

just view the video after thinking this bike is best for me = light is right. the 17 front tyre is not optimum, but with some skills it looks ok. probably my unicorn i am looking for. perfect on twisty road and good skills due to weight ratio on unpaved. city would be optimum. Just affraid for motorway, may be with windshield additionnal that would solve the issue.

xsr definitely more comfy, but svart is lighter for technical tossing around :)

I'm looking forward to getting a Svartpillen 401 soon. It came down to choosing either the Svartpillen 401 or a Royal Enfield Himalayan for me, but in the end I decided to go with the Svartpillen. I love just about everything about the bike model.
Svart is more capable, RE is more comfy. I vote Svart anyday :)
So what's a more reliable motor, the triumph 400x motor or the Svartpilen one? Really like both Motorcycles.
well, 400x just came out.. I have 30.000kms on mine with no problems. I am pretty confident 401 is better for dropping and offroading tho.

I'm using only fork risers from notable mods. tkc80 for tires... projektracing fender riser for mudguard... thats it.

Awesome video. Getting myself a Svartpilen 401 soon and while I won’t be doing this with it right away, I’m glad to see that it’s at least capable of some pretty good off-roading. Gonna build my skills up and eventually hit the more serious trails
Good choice. I still love riding it even with Norden as main bike now. It is such a fun bike to ride and simply asks to be ridden like a hoon :D

Have in mind mine was very well prottected and clearance was higher than sstock 2019 model, and I didn't mind bashing it. But if you don't plan on agressive riding, go for it, it is worth it :)

Thanks! Fork risers were done custom from some dude that did them for 390adv. I bought mines from the last bunch at that moment. You can google and I am sure you will find something similar.
oh and btw, i still own 401 but i dont ride it really.

I didn't know both bikes were so capable off-road. Good video and good end. 👌 Tyres are standard in both bikes? Did you change the pressure to do the trip?
I used to do that on Pirelli, but since I have tkc80 on it, their knobs are so soft there is no need for that to feel confident with grip. We did a lot of paved sections as well in between, so we just kept them normaly inflated. With fork risers, bigger tires and preload to max, I gained around 3cm of clearance, and with this being the 2019 model, it has a propper clearance as some adv bikes even stock, and its short wheelbase helps a lot.
XSR here was not rised, but recently he put 19" in the front (whole tubeless set actually), fork risers, and different spring in the back, so it's a real scrambler now, closer to t7 than road bikes really :D

That’s a ton of abuse to throw at the 401 tho. Doubtful it’d hold up long in that environment. Love my ‘20 but on asphalt and NC/TN mountains, that’s where it really lives. Kudos to the off road stuff. It is a blast on fire roads and dirt, but you can’t stand up on the pegs and not be out of sorts.

Mine is 2019, so no adjustments. Only thicker oil in it. I think 2019 is last year of production in Austria.
So people say is just a scrambler fachade. How many times you stop for gas?
on begining and in middle of a ~400km roundtrip with offroad. 5.3l/100km in city, but I am redlining it all the time. on trips like this, around 4l/100km.

Brate ja bih tek da udjem u svet motora i polozim za A ...kupim nov bajk i vozim ga dok budem mogao posto imam vec 43 g :) Gledam da je sposoban za duza putovanja do 1000 km a i da moze van puta,rizla ili zemlja ali ne sad ono bas da nema puta :) Bitno mi i da je ok za 2 up..e sad gledam najnoviju svart 401,x cape ili benelli trk 502x....? I brate ,moze li po lepom ravnom putu u 6brz solo voznja pri 70,80kmh konstant laganom gasu da se postigne 3/L potrosnja ili i nize??
Za ovo sve sto si opisao, X-Cape (imas review na mom yt). 401 je premali, TRK je mega pretezak i bas slab. Trenutno mislim da je Tenere nov oko 10.000e na nekoj akciji, ali moze ti zasmetati sto je centar teze bas visoko.
Moze potrosnja na Svartu da padne ispod 3 ako se bas stedi.. Al moze i na Nordenu (70kmh u 6toj je tacno 2.6l/100km) iako realno neces nikad tako voziti.
Generalno mi je manja potrosnja na Nordenu (3.8-4.2) nego na Svartu (4.3-5) prosecno kad putujem u kombinaciji sa offroadom, al to su neke cifre koje su realno bitne tek ako ces praviti petocifrene kilometraze godisnje pa da kazes e ok ustedeo sam koji evric.
