  • Had an issue with starting my 2013 Chevy Malibu. If engine did start the “AC Off Due To Engine High Pressure” message was displaying and the engine fan was blowing like crazy. So I decided to replace the top engine temp sensor. Luckily the issue was solved after replacement.

Thank you, this video saved me time and money. I got the sensor from O' Reilly Auto Parts for 16 bucks though. I disconnected the battery and the check engine light went away and temperature gauge is working normal now (wasn't moving from C).

My Malibu only does this when it's hot outside. Is that when yours did? The gauge stays on C though.

Could this be the cause of why my temp gauge is staying at the quarter mark when cold crank? I changed the thermostat and it fixed it for 2 days and then it started overheating again from coolant leak and it just didn’t go back to normal

No. My car never overheated. Just gauges were showing that engine is overheating but the engine at that moment was cold. Was Running like 5 seconds.

@@Sodininkas I haven’t changed the sensor yet , its running hot as of rn and a mechanic told to me change my thermostat..i changed it and now it overheats non stop

@@ctdaily1965 if it shows overheating right after you started the engine then its a sensor fault. If its overheating after 15-20 minutes could be other issues like head gasket or fan not kicking in.
