I have used synthetic and natural oil both from castrol. In the starting both perform same but after some time accelarator feels more smoother on synthetic oil rather than natural oil. also engine vibrations sound lower and are consistent on synthetic oil in comparison to natural oil. Lastly on synthetic oil I have experienced 10-15 more top speed in comparison to natural oil. So dont say that synthetic oil is useless.
Arvind Bakshi yes, you are right. Synthetic oil is far better than mineral oil especially in india. India is a country of extreme weather conditions. From rajasthan to nagaland, from kanyakumari to kashmir., Very hot to very cold. And synthetic oil takes care of extreme weather conditions. Actually, mineral oil contains minerals that is called impurities in science.
And impurities can harm engine smoothness. Synthetic oil is purified to last. So, you get rid of those
Problems, smooth performance, and many more as mentioned above and in video. If you are a revv lover

Well i have not experienced in the car yet but yes.. bikes.. this video is crap... cos performance changes after 100 kms... y 100 kms.. because by then the oil reaches every part of the engine and the engine is damn smooth then...
Arvind Bakshiji you're absolutely right when the oil is new and filters are fresh there is only a slight difference between normal and synthetic oil but after 5k kms or three to four months of oil change you can feel the difference if you are an enthusiast, for a layman there's no difference even if the oil is not changed till grease is formed inside the engine.
Disagreeing with the blogger. I am a car owner and marine engineer and having some knowledge on lubrication. The main benefit of synthetic oil is to maintain its properties within a vast temperature range. Or in other words it will maintain it's lubricity at vast temperature range. India is not a cold country but during summer season the ambient temperature goes very high. So proportionately the lubricating oil temperature increases. In case of mineral oil the viscosity and thus lubricity of the oil drops. That's not good for engine as there is a possibility of breaking of hydrodynamic fluid film. That possibility of totally eliminated when you are using synthetic oil. As you are ( most of us ) changing oil once in year ( private ownership ) so it's better to use synthetic oil. During summer season your car will run more smoothly. Choise is yours.

Tarun best for your engine is Synthetic oil .Mobil1/Castro’s Edge or any good brand oil but synthetic only.i have been using synthetic since 1993 and even in Fiat also I have used it. Don’t go by so called experts

Here in the US, user manuals of almost all cars explicitly mention the use of synthetic oil only. You would hardly find a service station having petroleum oil in stock. In the US we don’t use petroleum oil at all. Personally I always go with Mobil 1 full synthetic oil.

Sir thanks for this video explaining on version of oil. One basic question, do we need to change oil on kilometer basis or regular time interval basis? Like change after 10k or 1 year or which ever is earlier?

As a mechanic .i have more then 20 years of experience .as per my experience ..sir ne jo kaha shi kahaa..10000 se agar kum chalti he saal me car ...u dont meed synthetic oil .
Instead best way is ..pehle engine flush karo ..then oil drain karo .fir se normal oil dalo .run your engine for 20 minutes again ..then drain the oil again ...fir last me oil topup kardo ..u r good to go ..

Ha mene apni ciaz VDI+ ki 4th servicing me service center ko force kiya k muze jo manual me likha he wohi mineral oil chahiye, unhone bahot mqnane ki koshish ki but me nahi mana, muze manual me likha mineral oil hi chahiye tha and i saved 1800 rupees

I used full synthetic oil in my 150cc dazzler. Surprising increment in engine pick up, yet no effect in mileage, gd or bad. Engine sound became grave.
True, I had used both mineral oil and synthetic oil used in my motorcycle.
In both conditions, I feel the difference.
I have used synthetic oil and it really works great. Earlier whenever I used to start my AC while driving it use to give a lag but after using synthetic oil the lag was no more.

In Good synthetic oil you wont feel the reduction in power and smoothness after long hot drive compared to mineral oil.

Very informative sir ! I too have waste lots of money on recommendations of there showroom mechanic. They always insist for decarbonizing, flushing, synthetic oil, Teflon coatings etc.... Now atleast I can save money from these money mongers 👍👍👍
I live in Hyderabad. I’ve a 250cc bike and used mineral oil in first 1000kms. So I’m sharing my experience with you. I felt vibrations and noise from engine and when revved a bit high it makes a very awful noise. When I changed the oil within 1000km it was totally destroyed where as I didn’t forced my bike over 55-60kmph at any given time. Then I changed my engine oil to high performance fully synthetic oil (parrot green in color) and I felt the smoothness while riding. That awful sound disappeared and engine noise has reduced to very minimum. Now when I rev there’s very less vibration and sound is different. So in short my point is my riding experience has improved by switching to fully synthetic oil.
All I want to say is that your points makes sense theoretically but in practical what I experienced is different. Do you have any opinion or explanation for this?
