Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, known professionally as Rajinikanth, is an Indian actor who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. In a career spanning over five decades, he has done 170 films that includes films in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, and Malayalam.
Rajini had already become a big commercial hero in the 80s itself. Billa, murattu kaalai, moonrumugam, nallavanukku nallavan, padikkathavan, velaikaaran, gurusishyan, maappilai kind of high mass commercial blockbusters happened in the 80s only
Visham couldn’t admit Rajini was the superstar even in the 80s itself. The man has been holding the BO king position for 45 years now.
It is so satisfying to watch a die hard Kamal fan (who always tries to put Rajni down ) has to praise Rajni for the sake of survival

Well Shabari. Agree.. Very satisfying to watch. Not all Kamal fans does that. Normally his fans always enjoys the movies & post what they feel about it. Only the new era fans doing it badly. But I’ve seen Rajini fans trashing Kamal Sir very badly. Can say mostly disgusting way. Never once seen a Rajini fan praising Kamal Sir. But we always do. Me as a Kamal Sir fan, never hated or had any bad comments about Rajini Sir. More over they both are good friends. I respect that so much. Even now.. Check the comments.. The same happening. Two different individuals. Acting & Style. Class & Mass. They don’t fight. Hollywood fans don’t fight like this. Too bad.. Our ppl does.

This Visham just failed miserably in underplaying Rajini’s commercial supremacy in the 80s. The only period Kamal was giving bigger hits was in the 70s. Rajini was number 1 as early as Billa and Kamal was trailing ever since as far as 80s is concerned. In the 90s he was lifted to God status to the extend he could influence the political situation in TN.

This clearly indicates a lack of broader context of Mr.Rajinikanth's film career from a Kamal's fan. We have been watching films since 60's, MGR, Sivaji, Gemini, and others around. In the very early 60's, Kamal was introduced as a child artist and continued acting few films had opportunities and continued exposure to cinema. Later in the 70's, he started barely as supportive actor in Jaishankar, Sivakumar. Moreover Kamal was born & raised in TN, Chennai, that's to say his cinema career began in a comfortable and conducive environment. Whatever Kamal is nothing as opposed to Mr.Rajinikanth's humble begining, out of nowhere. An actor, hailing from Marati society, was born in a Kannada speaking state, came to Chennai in the early 70's, aspiring acting without Tamil. With the debut in 1975, to 1977, mostly antagonist roles, established himself a good performer in the film Buvana O.Kuri 1977: In 1978 onwards his graph 📊 has been consistently in the ascension, with the Billa 1980 market value and salary till now remain invincible. The illustrious career got into an uncharted territory magnified to this grand scale. HOW! Magnetic screen presence, swag overshadowed Kamal's long prepared and learnt from south Idian cinema industry. Mr.Rajinikanth is naturally an intelligent person who has a conventional life, responsible husband, father, grandfather, and producer's actor. His counterpart has nothing to worry about anything has time to upgrade himself to be reckoned pre eminent at the expense of conventional life. But he's NOT. His acting skills, we have seen in his predecessors, the likes of Sivaji, Naresh, Ts Balaiah, S.V.Subaiah Ranga Rao films. The arrival of Mr.Rajinikanth's has something totally out of the box and offbeat his charismatic inexplicable attracting keeps him going. Kamal had lost his market long ago. His Vikram success is just a fluke, that's attributed to Logesh only. We are from Jaffna, living abroad, having lived in UK more than 2 decades together 4 decades. We have been watching Mr.Rajinikanth's career from very outset. An epitome, one can embrace. The Vettayan looks his superstardom proportionally synthesized by directors' vision to make a meaningful film, that how it distinguishes from the recent movis.
