    The next time you do one of these cut the plastic between the fenders and the front of the doors to create a gap between them. When a car gets hit it will pull the front of the fenders towards each other and backs of the fenders away.

    Thanks for the how to video, but you seem to ignore the law of physics if a vehicle had hit a pole having that much damage to its front end. With the front end caved in so much, the engine would of been shoved backwards by an equal amount and into the driving compartment. With front end being twisted/bent so much, it would of also twisted the frame and even more importantly, both fenders would of crumpled along with the headlight bezels. Also, ALL of the glass would of shattered, not just the windshield.

    • @SecondChanceMowers710
      @SecondChanceMowers710  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There plastic you got to understand models don't have every detail a real car has.This video was mainly made to show how to cave in the front end...i didn't do every fine detail on this car..just a quick how to video

    • @oldbaldfatman2766
      @oldbaldfatman2766 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry, didn't understand that this was a quick, how to video. And to tell the truth, it looked great as is, but thought you were also going for a realistic approach too. One guy did a zombie diorama with a pickup with a few bullet holes in it and it had crashed into a pole, though not at high speed. Told him it looked great except for two things: he forgot to show seat/shoulder belts and deployed airbag. He took it as it was meant: an observation. I'm getting back into modeling, but this time 1/35th scale zombie dioramas. Since there's not a lot of current plastic auto/tuck kits available, going for diecast in 1/32nd. A lot of them have plastic bodies, while others are metal. Going to make 2 part silicon molds of the bodies so I can (hopefully) damage some of them like you showed everyone your video. Only thing I have yet to figure out is how to simulate broken glass. The model depicted actually had real glass in the vehicle, but modern vehicle windshields are designed to shatter/break into a bunch of small pieces. This way if someone is thrown thru a windshield (for example) they will break thru it instead of being cut to ribbons and probably stuck halfway in/out of the windshield. Any suggestions?With vehicles violently crashing into something and coming to a sudden halt, there's what I call the ripple effect. This is when there's a bunch of stress put on metal. With cars made mainly of plastic, parts just kind of explode off. Aircraft that have done high g maneuvers have the ripples showing on the aircrafts skin.

    me and my friend did that a lot when we were growing up. we used cigarette lighters. we use to smash them alot to when we screw up or got tired of them. my friend use to like crushing them, under his shoes or boots a lot. lol it was so fun to watch him to. he crushed a lot of mine! he only crushed a few of his own, lol, imagine that! i remember building one one night, we had a sleep over, and i built this one and it turned out horable! he laughed at it, and i tried to tease him back by saying "i supose you want to crush it now, ha?" but i played the joke on him, or something. anyway he stepped up onto the tabletop we were working on (at his basement work bench) where my ugly brand new 57 chevy sat and proceeded to slowly walk over to me and he very very slowly put one of his shoes on it, his heel on the roof, and i didn't do or say anything so he kept pressing down and he ended up standing free weight on it for a good couple minutes, but with the laughing and giggling it finally caved in and he proceeded to destroy it, right there where it was built.

    I just ran across your channel from YT's home page. I just had to tell you that I have been thinking about making a model car junk yard for some time now! I used to build them for years as a kid. I still have quite a few cars from that time of my life, which is amazing when you think it has been over 50 years since I was an avid modeller. YES I am a senior citizen. I never got around to that project, as I morphed into other hobbies since then. The three things that have kept my free time not so free have been Hot Rods, Motorcycles, and the thing that got me from the modeling hobby, Building and Racing RC cars. IF only I had half of the money that I spent, and spend on RC, I could retire a rich man. Thanks, I Now Have the Inspiration to build that junk yard, finally!
