Me (No, not Ashildr, I had the name before Doctor Who, and I'm not changing it!) You know, the Eleventh Doctor does say that in 'The Time of the Doctor'... And then it transpires he's actually naked and only projected his clothes into Clara's visual cortex.
@mgblue exactly my point, because everyone is saying "british humour is better than american" and vice versa. i'm saying it's dependant on the individual not the country they live in. thanks for proving my point.
When people mess up they usually try not to draw attention to it and just move on, Jo made a huge thing about forgetting the word and just completely embarrassed herself and made the whole thing grind to a halt. She should've just tapped out and moved on
I finally noticed Frankie asking "Because of me?" when she said anal. I was always busy laughing at his confusion when she shouted Frankie before that.
My contributions: 1) Are you ready to order, sir? 2) Anybody want to see me do the splits? 3) Promise me you'll never let go, Rose.... 4) Don't be nervous lad just turn the key then put it in 1st *pause* mate that's not the gear stick 5) Hello and welcome to Mock The Week, I'm Dara O' Brian...
@mgblue North America and the United Kingdom are more well known (to us, I might add) because, while they both have their own distinct cultures, and sub-cultures, they are all part of a bigger, Western culture. As many differences as there are, there are far more similarities. Both are exposed to one another far more than any other culture, and thus the types of humour grow on us. I have to conclude that what one finds funny depends on where they live, not the other way around.
@mgblue I disagree; I've seen plenty of both physical and verbal humour in China, Japan, and other oriental countries. You simply have to look for it, because the 'universal' language is English. You'll be pretty hard-pressed to find any non-English videos on TH-cam to even come close to breaking the top thousand viewed or favourited unless it's got coverage from outside sources. It's not that there's a lack of humour in those areas, it's just that we live in separate cultural circles.
@LiaRazLovelace Women generally talk about being women, and women react better to male comedians. The former alienates the male half the audience, the latter makes it difficult to win the other half over.
@smexijebus yep i agree but as i said certain types of humour are universal...its been proven, usa and uk excel at universal humour, slapstick physical humour doesn't need language, do you those types of humour are seen in peoples lives in china, no because clearly their culture doesn't allow it for whatever reason
The female comedians on MTW aren't usually as funny as the men but there are good female comedians, like Joan Collins. And female comedic actors who are funny in real life like Dawn French.
@TheSetMeUp Nah, I think its becuase most men that don't like or understand Women's humor. Sometimes my mum cracks up laughing and me and my dad are just sitting their eiether trying to work what she said or how it was funny.
Wow...that's so funny! Seriously, do you guys not get this joke? It's an old stereotype of a woman's place being in the kitchen...and he just applied it to this woman because she's in a studio, NOT in a kitchen. Did you write that yourself? I mean, I've NEVER heard anyone make that joke, so I guess you must have. You're just...a comedy GENIUS for making such an original joke that no one has ever made before :) forget these guys, YOU'RE the comedian here! I think I might die laughing! XD
Turns on video. Welcome to your new foster home" Looks again. Yes that was a good joke and it was saod by Russell Howard! My god! It's like bizzaro world.
@Joppsta360 USA comedians you forgot, Rich Hall, Jerry Seinfeld, Richard Pryor, Woody Allen, Steven Wright, George Burns, Dave Chapelle, Ellen Degeneres, Larry David, Denis Leary & Mitch Hedberg to name a few. you're just focusing on the nation more than the individually brilliance these geniuses contribute to the history of comedy. if you don't understand their humour, then google them and watch videos.
@Joppsta360 i'm intelligent enough to have an open mind with all kinds of humour. Just how i like my food and music, a plethora in arrays. i see good in all things. nice work onloy naming 3 of the many comedians i mentioned. got dirt on all of them?.... didn't think so.
@mgblue nice google search. look, you probably have to look for it for in some countries compared to others ie; china, because it's not as popular through their media sources, but without a doubt there is a scene there (& everywhere else). The reason America & the UK are compared so much is because they are both media driven countries which expose their viewers to it. Hence us being so familiar to UK & USA. Other countries you'll have to litterally go to a live show in a small bar.
@TheAmazingBlackStar Not at all. Id have complained either way, it just so happens that it is a female comedian aswell, and they happen to be less funny as a rule. I know humour is subjective, but could you recommend me a halarious female stand up comedian? Id like to see one of the funny one's people keep mentioning but never elaborating on.
Ellen Degeneres, Sarah Silverman, Whoopi Goldberg, hell Lucille Ball! The thing I hate is if a guy has a joke bomb, people say "Wow, he isn't funny." But if a woman has a joke bomb, people say "Wow, GIRLS aren't funny!" Comedy is a matter of opinion and personal preference but you can't damn the comedic talents of an entire sex because most of the women on one show can't do improve.
@mgblue There's a clear language barrier. Of course you won't find a nation's comedians funny if you can't understand a word they're saying. If you went to a pub in China, you wouldn't be able to even order a drink, much less understand jokes. Humour is extremely subjective, and everyone finds certain types of humour funny. It differs from nation to nation, but also individual to individual.
Is anybody else on a Scenes We'd Like To See spree?
I have been for about a month!!
This is a fortnightly habit for me.
This is the definition of a good time yep

"I'll be honest with you - they both hurt"
"I'll have to have a rest now!"
When I saw the topic I just thought that Russell and Frankie were going to have a field day with this! XD
Russel begun it with a bang XD
i bet Frankie thought when he was behind him, "that was actually pretty good" X'D
"I'm honored by the invitation, your majesty."
"No, no there is absolutly nothing to worry about, officer"
I love how when the lady said it's because of Frankie, he's just like "WTF?"
"...And the band was Showaddywaddy."
"Today, we're going to learn how to count to twenty-one."
Oh. Oh, no. XD
I didn't get the 21, can you help

"You said it was dress down Friday.."
“Hi, dad! You remember Mr. Rivers from school, right?"
Russel begun this round with a bang!
Bad Things To Say Or Do On a Comedy Show = What that woman said

“Hello, I’m Dara Ó Briain, and welcome to Mock The Week”
When Russell said "About your hamster" my brain went immediately to The Hat Fic. Don't look that up.
@mgblue exactly my point, because everyone is saying "british humour is better than american" and vice versa. i'm saying it's dependant on the individual not the country they live in. thanks for proving my point.
Can't believe no one thought of imitating Dara!
Are there any Phandom members concerned about the pet hamster
Professional Fangirl haha me!
Me here yes
I've seen funny female comedians, but Jo isn't doing anything to improve stereotypes here!
Sarah Millican is the one that makes me laugh
Nah she was pretty good
Think this were a dude they'd left it in?
Thanks and we’re out here in the field doing this report today.
Anyone else think of the hat fic when he said hamster?
Oh god...no...anything but that...
Kieran McCann nothing worse than the chair fic though...im scarred for life...(help me)
+Katie Boyle oh no believe me, you don't know scarring until you read the knife fic...I still haven't recovered...
+Kieran McCann I know scarring...two words...milk fic *shivers violently*
+Katie Boyle I was literally about the write that XD
Frankie's faces during Jo's errors are the highlight of the video.
1:55 cringe alert
Some people's logic: editing left in an awkward mistake by a female comedian = all female comedians are bad and unfunny and shouldn't be on the show
"Dearly beloved, we have gathered here today."
I thought they edited out lines that didn't amuse people.
I think they left it in because Frankie (sort of) saved it.
If that were true then Russell Howard would never appear on the show.
Russell killed this one though.
Russell Howard is very good at stand up but he can't do the one liners, occasionally he does a good one but in general Its a weak point for him
Hes been gone over 11 years now. Move on yeah
frankies saying of "to be honest with you they both hurt" was brilliant lol
My entry: “good morning children shall we begin the day with a puppet show?”
I'm a woman and even I thought, "That's why this show doesn't have more female comics."
ghostmadlittlemiss men on this show mess up too tho......
When people mess up they usually try not to draw attention to it and just move on, Jo made a huge thing about forgetting the word and just completely embarrassed herself and made the whole thing grind to a halt. She should've just tapped out and moved on
the only Female comedian that makes me laugh is Sarah Millican
Yup
Holly Walsh has a good style

“I know it’s a bit forward for our first date, but...”
Frankie saved her in the end and got a laugh for her!

''its alright dinners sorted ive got meat and 2 veg''
Oh I don't know. That joke about getting her keys for her was brilliant. The only joke I really laughed hard at, personally. :)
I got one
'Hello I'm Dara O'Brian welcome to Mock The Week'
I read the title, saw Franklin on the thumbnail, and thought "This is gonna be good"
@mgblue actually in places like japan the humour can be very universal, have you seen japanese prank shows, our shows bow down to theirs
adam hills and russell howard on the same show?! my life is complete
Parker Adelaide I think Russell said that they're good friends
She must be so embaressed
Gah! That thing was the creepiest thing in that whole movie, why must it be your profile picture? xD

My own contribution: "My fellow Americans...."
Pros of old mock the week clips: lots of Frankie.
Cons: lots of Russell Howard

"It's that thing in your mouth- it's cause of- Frankie" XD
haha that first joke from the lady was absolutely hilarious :D

Switch on captions and watch out for "populace rescue the post office".
''Is all the children ready for the Pope's visit?''

"Happy birthday dear Grandad!" and that woman (forgotten her name) getting confused is one of the funniest parts in the entire DVD :D
0:09 I've actually met a naturist foster family. Not sure how they introduced themselves, but it could be worse...
"I thought this was naked attraction"
Turns on video. Welcome to your new foster home" Looks again. Yes that was a good joke and it was saod by Russell Howard! My god! It's like bizzaro world.
Hey, what is funnier than a female comedian?
Everything!
"Oh... Well hi Tom Hiddleston."
"No. Well yes okay the pictures are of you."
@martinmerrywinkle yeah im well aware of takeshis castle and unbeatable banzuke but i said china not japan...
@will01819 Fair enough. Thanks for the recommendations. Keep laughing.
@LooneyBlade113 Wow, never heard that before. I and most others think people from Britian have a very good sense of humour.
0:44 is this the inspiration for the hat fic
I dunno why, but every time I click on one of these videos, Drew Carey says the title in my head before Dara does it on the video...
I can't remember this woman's name but she is actually really funny. When she was on QI she was good.
@ChegzGT1EB I wouldn't say women in general, there are a good few that are actually funny, just rarely put on these shows....
It isn't whether nations are funny, it is if the individuals are.
@TheTotalRugby She did, but Frankie, ended her joke pretty good lol
"That thing in your mouth..!!"
"....Tongue!"
@Joppsta360 i'm intelligent enough to have an open mind with all kinds of humour. Just how i like my food and music, a plethora in arrays. i see good in all things. nice work onloy naming 3 of the many comedians i mentioned. got dirt on all of them?.... didn't think so.

@TheDaboraco i wouldn't go that far there are some hilarious women out there.. just haven't seen any on this game yet
Franky is amazing.
It’s cause of... Frankie!
His reaction is hilarious, and his response is brutally hilarious
Ellen Degeneres, Sarah Silverman, Whoopi Goldberg, hell Lucille Ball! The thing I hate is if a guy has a joke bomb, people say "Wow, he isn't funny." @DCfilms1001 Jay Leno? Heard the name before but i do not associate it with the word funny.
Was that Adam Hills sitting in the sidelines there?
''Hello grandma''
@noveltybobel
i believe you just answered your own question
@gyped yeah cus all those chinese born and raised comedians are hilarious
Poor Jo bless her and Frankie was like WTF me? Lol
@mgblue There's a clear language barrier. Of course you won't find a nation's comedians funny if you can't understand a word they're saying. If you went to a pub in China, you wouldn't be able to even order a drink, much less understand jokes.
