  • Audi's new Tesla rival is almost here. The RS e-Tron GT will use the same platform as the Taycan, but will be aimed towards those who want a high-performance electric car that can be used on a daily basis. How does it compare to the Model S? Should Tesla be worried? Rory breaks it all down.

      So is Mona Lisa, but that is the only thing the Audi has, the rest is just cosmetic appeal to ask for top $, but it has no significant substance behind the pretty face. No power, no range, no free automatic upgrading, no FSD capability, and yet another EV Audi converted from an ICE car chassis. If they drop $40.000 from its price the might sell a few, if not the Tesla Model 3 Dual motor will just destroy it, and if we pit it against the new Model S, this Audi will be totally obliterated under every single comparison parameter.

      @@aldozilli1293 Thanks Aldo Zilli, for the compliment, I wish I was He, so to enjoy seen things and the world from a privileged perspective of the Genius he is. Are you ready? I just purchased a new Nissan Leaf, would have preferred a model 3 even the cheapest model would have pleased me, but the price difference was just too great. The car is perfect, great acceleration and a great American car soft ride, even though the car is not American but the US has been probably the greatest market for it, therefore I presume that the suspension was tuned for American likes. I will never drive another ICE car again, full electric is the way, so comfortable, friendly, no road taxes, no expensive smelly gasoline. No oil leaks, and have a gas station right in my home electric socket.
      Tesla Competition EV? All of them in a bunch 7 or 8 years behind Tesla, all of them over priced, under performing and too hyped up for their substance. But the substance of a Tesla EV is not definitely there. Been in the car business all my life, I know cars. I doubt if anyone will ever be able to build a true Tesla Killer, for so far are collecting great sales flops.

    • @aldozilli1293
      @aldozilli1293 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sat7755 Well I'd say others are not far behind Tesla and catching fast but Tesla also has areas it can improve a lot on. The build quality of Tesla is now much better but still not near the quality of an Audi or Porsche, but that said at those prices you should expect it so maybe harsh on Tesla. I also hear (in this video) that the charging is a bit quicker than Tesla. Finally and importantly for people like me who appreciate exterior styling, Tesla could certainly improve in this department, they do look a bit boring compared to Audi and Porsche.

      @@Metam-nl8hv Ha ha. No offence taken. I suppose, as a Tesla driver, I can confidently say from experience, that the Model 3 (in our case), handles mighty fine. It has its characteristics just as any car does, but a few minutes in the driving seat will see you at one with the world (and the road).
      The Porsche, as we’ve found out, has been designed with creating the feel and handling of their traditional cars. The ‘serious’ driver will no doubt appreciate this, and if the pockets are deep enough, go for the Porsche over the Tesla. However, the abilities of all the cars are excellent, and are going to give a really satisfying drive, and when you factor in that the Tesla is half the price, or lower depending on relative specs, it becomes a mighty proposition. This is why we (annoyingly?) rave about our cars...we can also pack them up and do a 10,000 mile trip, with the kids in the back...on a comprehensive, dedicated, reliable, easy to use charging network. I’ll stop now.
      I love cars. I really like the look of the Porsche, and will wait to see what people make of the Audi.

    Rory, with respect to charging you are thinking about things incorrectly. Instead of thinking about about time per kilowatt of energy put back into the car's battery, think about things in terms of miles of range put back into the car per minute of charging. Sure, the Audi might be able to completely recharge its battery quicker than the Model S, but, if you recharge the Model S and e-tron GT for the same about of time (enough to fully recharge the Audi's battery for instance) you will be able to drive further in the Model S with the charge that has been added to the vehicle - this is because the Model S is a significantly more efficient vehicle, requiring less energy watt hours per mile than the Audi.

    No, Tesla should not be afraid. It’s a cool looking car, and Tesla is just starting to have competition from the Mercedes EQC, Audi eTron, the Ford Mach E, and others. It should be interesting to see how things develop.

    Audi has gone something special by keeping this electric car more normal car looking form factor with a hint of future. I think the faze from petrol and diesel cars shouldn’t look over futuristic as it’s hard to relate to these designs yet. I can’t wait to see an electric Audi RS6 the best all round car in world. Will be interesting to see what professional electric car tuners can do with tuning software and other modifications 👍⚡️

    Really don't get the Tesla thing, yes they are quick but that is where it ends for me, the quality of a Porsche or an Audi is in a different league, my view Porsche first, Audi second. Incidentally is it true Tesla won't buy back cars they have supplied. You won't get that from either Porsche or Audi.
