This is my favorite COD mission. The feel, the tension, the atmosphere, the music, the emotion, the stealth... everything was spectacular and unforgettable.
I miss playing this mission for the first time. The tension when you hide between the enemy guards. The fear of being caught under the trucks. Amazing.
Why can’t COD developers develop a game along these lines? Crude realism, creepy atmosphere, stressful gameplay. These things made this game the best COD of all times. We won’t see anything like this anymore..

Shh : 4 tangos inside don't even think about disturbing the opponents in the main room on the left especially on veteran mode I've taken them out before multiple times though, it was pretty hard to so basically it's not worth it
None of the COD games released since this game have ever come close to recreating this mission, no matter how hard they tried. Thee atmosphere, the music, the nostalgic, the changes between slow and fast pacing, and the genuinely tense moments like hoping the enemy wouldn’t accidentally step on you, all make for a masterpiece.

Clean House makes you feel far more powerful than in All Ghillied Up. you've got an entire team invading a very mundane household. sure it's tense but it doesn't feel like you're in a place outside of your capabilities. the margin for failure is also really forgiving in Clean House, which alleviates the tension way too much.
I went to Pripyat in 2018, I couldn't believe how accurate this game was. So Weird walking around looking at all the places and thinking about me as a kid exploring them on COD. Great Game.
I mean, it isn't that hard to replicate an area in CGI anymore. Pripyat has been open for tours and photography for decades, as have other areas around Chernobyl and the Duga arrays.
The whole gameplay of this mission is phenomenal, the atmosphere and whole look of Pripyat is stunning, would love if they remade a mission like this in the next MW game for 2022.
It's weird, I literally played this mission a couple days before the whole russia ukraine thing started. Cod 4 seriously nailed being "Modern Warfare", it is still relevant, and a lot of the same global tensions are occuring today. It's crazy how accurate they used to portray the grim side of war.
I was 7 years old when i first played this, and I proceeded to play it dozens of times over and over. It's still my favourite COD mission to date. It wasnt until 6 years later that I learned about the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in class that i had my mind blown completely. I thought for the entire duration of the class that this seemed familiar. It wasn't until i read Pripyat in the side texts on the powerpoint and saw a picture of a ferris wheel later that it clicked spontaneously. I went home booted up the PS3 again to replay this classic that day, Now im 21, coming back to watch this, I would happily play this but my PS3 died a couple years ago.
@@Caesar88888 lol no. this mission is a stealth operation from one of the best special troops on the planet, fighting in enemy lines. meanwhile the ukrainian (lowest gdp in whole europe) army is among others composed of teenagers and mercenary-nazis, trying to "defend" an attack from one of the biggest military armies in the world. completely different scenarios.
This game gives me a lot of nostalgia. When the war started in Ukraine, I remembered this COD's mission right away. This game is a master piece. All the details of Prypiat in this game are amazing.

I visited Chernobyl/Pripyat a few years ago, few months before the war started. We went to the nuclear facility, through the city, saw the Ferris wheel, the hotel, went through some of the buildings. Then our guide took us to an old remote house in the fields that I think was off limits It was fucking awesome.

Damn this looks so good. But this is what I miss in games these days. This had pure excitement, playing alone in the dark. Completely into the mission and you had the feeling you really was in that map walking there. So awesome! Especially the part when you walk at the swimming pool, and realize this looks like the real deal. So frighting and awesome at the same time.

Agreed, hate all the cross pollination of weebs and neon colors incorporated to appeal to all. This will be the downfall of COD, mark my words; Battlefield 6 gets it, and I guarantee they won’t be doing neon skins and Rambo just to sell us a game.

13:53 ive been in pripyat summer 2021, the amusement park is right behind you like 50-100 meters i would say. Of course they added more buildings to fill a bit the environment, but the hotel is right there too. After the current events in real life, and adding the fact ive been there, feels weird
One of the greatest Call of duty, in my opinion. It was the first video game i ever played, and my god, what an epic story. Modern warfare 1, 2 and 3 were awesome!
In the original game, the Gillie suit was so good at camouflage that once putting Captain Macmillan on the ground to protect him, it took me 5 minutes each time to find him.

Damn this looks so good. But this is what I miss in games these days. This had pure excitement, playing alone in the dark. Completely into the mission and you had the feeling you really was in that map walking there. So awesome! Especially the part when you walk at the swimming pool, and realize this looks like the real deal. So frighting and awesome at the same time.

I was so scared to play this mission in 2007, it took me 2 hours to complete the mission. There are many Russian soldiers here

Agreed, hate all the cross pollination of weebs and neon colors incorporated to appeal to all. This will be the downfall of COD, mark my words; Battlefield 6 gets it, and I guarantee they won’t be doing neon skins and Rambo just to sell us a game.

I like how when recreating Pripyat, they decided to place the nuclear power plant in the middle of the city. In real life it was miles away.
played this for the first time one evening in 08 drinking some red wine and actually got kind of emotional from this level. the gorgeous set design and sad history is what really got me. and the wine.

13:53 ive been in pripyat summer 2021, the amusement park is right behind you like 50-100 meters i would say. Of course they added more buildings to fill a bit the environment, but the hotel is right there too. After the current events in real life, and adding the fact ive been there, feels weird

This is one of my favorite CoD missions and it deserves every ounce of praise it gets. Love Captain MacMillan; he's one of my favorite characters.

One of the greatest Call of duty, in my opinion. It was the first video game i ever played, and my god, what an epic story. Modern warfare 1, 2 and 3 were awesome!
In the original game, the Gillie suit was so good at camouflage that once putting Captain Macmillan on the ground to protect him, it took me 5 minutes each time to find him.
