I just purchased one through Walmart shipping. I want to try it for buttons for doll clothes. I didn't know there was such a tool until recently watching You Tube channels. You are a good teacher and easy to follow on instructions. Thank you.
Thank you so very much, as a man, I have always wondered how it's perfect, I just bought the 'jack guide' (looks like a scissor lift/cherry picker) and I want to start making my own shirts, even I end up with holes from bad button placement because I am overweight and have a 55" chest so now with your guide I can place the buttons inline with 'my chest points' and have no holes. this was a wonderfully informative video thank you!! This is SUCH a game changer! I do have one question--I think the answer might be obvious but just in case I am missing something this tool doesn't seem quite as useful with vertical buttonhole placement other than measuring for the distance apart and simply marking the start point of each buttonhole. If I am missing the obvious I would love to know.

I recently found one of these at our local reuse/recycle center. I guessed it was for marking pleats. Thank you for your clear instructions.
Thank you so much, have had this for a few years now I know how to use.

Very informative!!! Thank u. I was thinking mine was faulty as the distance was not equal when I just expanded it.
Love this gadget! I use it every time I see a blouse or shirt ( or even skits, coats etc. that have buttons.
Wow Kathy! Thank you so much! I had no idea that there were rules for button placement! I can't wait to get a Simflex! Thanks again!💕🪡🧵✂️💕
Thank you I bought it awhile back and I wasn’t clear on how to use it.
I love my gauge!! It works even though I was using the wrong side! 😝. Thank you for showing us the correct way to use it!
Thank you so much for this video. I understand this tool much better.
This was helpful and informative. thanks
Thank you Kathy. This is wonderful 😊😊

you aer correct, it is more useful for horizontal buttonholes.
This is excellent
But how about if you don't want the button holes to go sideways and you want them to go up and down on a blouse?
