After a disastrous semifinal, my confidence going into this was on the floor and it’s probably the most nervous I’ve felt since Euros. I decided to follow a strict plan, use 7 Simul until I get a horrendous time or DNF and if that were to happen, switch to flip. Unfortunately I DNF’ed the first solve meaning I had to resort to my old ways. Considering how nervous I was and that the scrambles were not great, I am so glad that I managed to get through the next 4 solves with the worst time being a 5.02.
I need to give a big shoutout to Antonie as my judge who managed to keep me calm throughout this final after the worst start possible.
Congrats to Andrés and Ibai for making the podium as well, massively deserved!
