Hello Michael, I am being able to use the Supperware head tracker with Dolby Atmos renderer to mix however I had a quick question : Is there a way to monitor already released music in Dolby Atmos on apple music by using the Supperware headtracker ?

Unfortunately, no. For that you need AirPods or one of the Beats that support it.

Hi, i'm not sure this is true apple rendering, but just profileing a render in binuaral. It sounds completly different to the logic one to me, and I can't seem to confirm reading the documentation.

Interesting. I’m not using Logic. Need to test that.

@lgwagneryes it's hard to A/B but audiomovers claim it's the same as Logic.

It technically is because they are using the Apple API. Just like Logic.

If I have the renderer set to 7.1.4 can I set the main outs to be the stereo sum/downmix or the binural? And still use the “listen bus” in the manner you have shown?

Great to see this plugin available, I had actually sent a feature request for spatial audio to presonus, so thanks for the heads up on this one. I’m curious though whether Apple provided some sort of spatial audio spec for audiomovers to work with, I wonder whether that detail is publicly available so that presonus might implement natively.
Side question re publishing atmos content on TH-cam, if audio is rendered via Dolby atmos to binaural, the binaural output works fine for TH-cam ? Meaning TH-cam is compatible with atmos but for headphones only?
Thanks for all the great videos!

It is an API that Apple provides. I think everybody could implement that if they wanted. Re binaural. A binaural downmix is just two channel audio. You can use that on TH-cam but people would have to listen with headphones, otherwise it sounds off.

    Hi Michael, me again :)
Just got round to starting to use the audio movers plugin, mixes I was working on in plain DA now sound quite different ! I was wondering if there's a simpler way to move between listening to Apple Spatial and Normal Dolby Atmos other than reverting the 'speakers' setting back to stereo and then going in to song settings to also revert the listen bus output ... Seems a little tricky to switch between and could be prone to error.. I'm guessing mixes are going to need to somehow sound good in both versions , or just assume Apple has the larger market share right now and mix for spatial only ! Anyway interested in your thoughts as always.
Any tips on using VSX headphones for spatial, should I just not use the VSX plugin at all, or are headphone profiles usable without interfering with the binaural rendering too much? Doing some tests at the mo and I'm not certain either way as yet !
    Thank you!

For the output you could use a Loopback device that sends the output to the Airpods as well as the speakers so that you don’t have to switch the outout. But you will always need to switch the DA settings and turn the Audio Movers plugin on/off.

@@michaelgwagner thanks , I'll have a play with this! I just edited my question a little , sorry ! I'm actually trying to figure out a way to check both on headphones, whether that's two sets of headphones or one (airpods only or airpods + VSX )

Your videos are always an eye opener Michael. A little off topic here, but I was just wondering if you could do a brief video about the basics of mixing in Dolby Atmos. I have been scratching my head for a while now, trying to mix and master a single song in Atmos in both S1 and Cubase, but I have more questions now than when I started. For example how do you add effects to either beds or objects and what FX could you actually use on either, can you use parallel compression or sidechaining, is there any point in creating busses, how to achieve correct LUFS and loudness during mastering, etc? There is hardly anything out there covering these topics and that would truly help so many people. Thank you again for the outstanding content.

Hey thanks. Good questions (and a lot of them, lol). From what I am hearing there are some solutions coming out that will address many of your questions and I will most likely make videos about that.

Thanks so much Michael. But just so you know: me and I am sure many others have learned a lot from you, so no pressure :) Your channel is fantastic either way.
