The ibanez subreddit would identify this. It could be a 1995 model made in 1994 but I can't find any with a reverse headstock outside of the Paul Gilbert models. That would make it a right-handed guitar with a left-handed neck.

Never seen a Fuji Gen guitar with that level of orange peel on the finish. Almost a guaranteed refin. Also looks like it might have had some screw holes filled, though I can't really tell from the picture. Given it's 24 frets, probably an RG neck at least. Not that I have any expertise on Ibanez in particular.

@@JojoFryrocksIf it is an 1980's Ibanez my bet is a RG420. Reverb has one of them on. And as for serial number/traceability that came a long way. Nowadays year,month,week,day,production plant, production line,batch everything is in that number. And as for for example a month being important...yes. Imagine a guitar made on a machine prior to maintenance or the first one after.

good luck with your detective work 🙏 i used to have an ibanez sabre 540S . i bought in 1990 , tho lost it at the pawnshop 😔 1997 or so .. if you modify the keywords in the search field or use boolean in the search might bring up more information 👍🏻
it’s definitely an RG or roadstar.. it looks like they brought out many different variations.. variants 🤠 seriously.. like heaps of tweaked pick up set ups and finishes.. the one with the handle hole was the model i always remembered..

Did Ibanez do exclucivity agreements in '94? I have an RG2EX1 that was a Guitar Center exclusive, and I don't know if these kinds of models would show up in the general catalog for that year. Then again, I am no guru. I've just been really into Ibanez since that very time. I had a brochure in '96. If I remember right, I sent away directly to Ibanez for it. Cool memories, but only faint pieces are left. LOL
@@JojoFryrocks Perhaps. The pickups could have originally been IBZ. MIJ Ibanez didn't use INF, from what I understand. The gold hardware was pretty popular at the time, like binding on the body, neck and headstock on my guitar. Seeing the HH configuration and somewhat fancy stuff reminded me of my guitar that was difficult to research until I saw in a forum it was a GC exclusive.
@@presbyterian8603 No, I didn’t know there was an Ibanez handbook! I could have really used some help with changing the strings on my RG550, it’s been a week and I’ve still not got it set up right, I now feel like the Floyd rose was the worst thing that ever happened to guitars!
@@JojoFryrocks The handbook is a great reference for the history of Ibanez guitars. Not all Floyd's are built the same but yeah they are time consuming to restring. I feel your pain.

Might be an exclusive spot model. The whole guitar seems to be late 90s by the specs minus the aftermarket pickups.

To me it looks like a model or two up from the RG421 body & neck are pretty much RG421, tuners, pu's and bridge/trem are definately next level.
