- Sibiri Samake was born on May 10th, 1962 in Fadiobougou near Welessebougou. Coming from a blacksmith's family, his father, Djomadje Samake was the Chief Hunter of 107 villages when he died at the age of 115. His mother, Nango Bagayoko was one of the best singers in the Djitoumou area. Sibiri began paying donso n'goni in 1973. During the 1980's, he was a ballet dancer, theater actor, and chorus singer with Troupe Theatrale of Bamako. Sibiri is a traditional healer and is able to cure over 32 diseases with traditional medicines. He is a Komo owner, well-known fortune teller, and was initiated as a hunter over twenty years ago. In addition to playing all the traditional donso music, he is the composer and arranger of his own songs. He has toured almost all of Africa as well as much of Europe and America. His music and presence as a man are not to be taken lightly.

Vraiment monsieur sibiri samake vous savez très bien joué à la corde je vous félicite
yes another great music of the hunter from Mali I'm pride to be from
The hunters being the healers is a deep concept. I've been fortune enough to attend one Donso celebration in Mail some 20 years ago now. Heavy is a good description. I saw things there that are inexplicable to this day. I love the people of Mali, such simple and beautiful people that produce great music. Thanks for posting.

What's up Terence! We are actually really good friends with Sibiri and we have family and friends in Mali because we have been going there almost every year for the past ten years. Our intention to create the label and the production company is to support artists and help them get their music to the world. We actually work under fair trade guidelines where we split profits by half with the artists. To find out more about what we are doing click the link above! Peace, KSK Crew!
