At the time of the recording which was almost a year ago there might have been a chance that he would have thought that they could have a 5 member group. BLACKPINK was supposed to debut with 5 members but Miyeon who is now in (G)I-DLE was the fifth member before getting eliminated/dropped-out months before debut. Since it is YG, there was a possibility and he explains it in the announcement episode. But because this was recorded almost a year ago, we know the outcome since the members were decided around July 2022. In September 2022 the 7 members attending the BLACKPINK concert in Seoul. In November 2022, the 7 members were are the TREASURE concert where the members of TREASURE was overheard congratulating the members of BABYMONSTER about debuting. My suspicion is that the announcement video was recorded during the final evaluation and shown to the members two weeks after this performance. They also have a video showing the members reaction to the member announcement. If anything instead of watching the announcement video, I would just watch the member reaction to the announcement since it is pretty much the same video and it doesn't make sense to watch it twice. Also, the song at the end is their pre-debut song and the video is already released. The one thing is that YG and TH-cam have been taking down the reactions to the pre-debut video. So it needs to have a lot of pauses in between or have some of the audio for the song cut from the reaction. So be careful with that video. Most reactors have been putting it on their Patreon for free if anyone wants to watch it as a solution.
I love love love 2NE1, I was soooo sad when they disband, I all most 😭 . For weeks I was heart broken. To me I don't think you need to do a reaction videos on the second generation. I am more interested in the new generation. I know XG because of you and I really like them.
