Strahov Stadium is a stadium on top of Strahov Hill in the Czech city of Prague. According to some sources, it has the most prominent pitch area in the world (63,000 m²), and the stands can seat more than 220,000 spectators. It was one of the most famous reinforced concrete panel structures in Czechoslovakia, and its construction contributed to the development of modern construction technology. Its primary purpose was to host the Sokol movement jamborees.
The first wooden stadium was constructed in 1926 for the VIII All-Sokolskiy jamboree. The author of the project was Alois Driak. The stadium was modernized six years later to accommodate the IX Vsesokolskiy jamboree. The President of Czechoslovakia, Tomáš Masaryk, attended both meetings. The stadium's attendance peaked in July 1938, when the stadium, then known as Masaryk's State Stadium, hosted the X All-Sokol meeting.
After the Second World War, the stadium was expanded in 1947, 1948, and 1975. At that time, the stadium took on its modern appearance. The stadium hosted the National and Czechoslovak Spartakiades, except in 1970 when the suppression of the Prague Spring resulted in the entry of Warsaw Pact troops into Czechoslovakia. The last Socialist Spartakiade was held in 1985, and the one planned for 1990 was not held. The first large-scale sporting event of the Czech Republic, the XII Vsesokolský jamboree, was held with the participation of President Václav Havel in 1994.
On 18 August 1990, one of the most significant Rolling Stones rock concerts was held here: it was attended by approximately 110,000 people, including the President of the Czech Republic, Václav Havel. In any case, after the Velvet Revolution in 1989, the building was not used for a long time, which led to a state of disrepair, and trees and weeds began to grow on the field. Several projects were developed to demolish the building, but ultimately, it was decided to keep it. At the beginning of the XXI century, with the financial help of the city administration, the football club "Sparta" carried out reconstruction, as a result of which the field was divided into 7 football fields of standard size for mini-football, including artificial turf. There were also plans to redevelop the stadium in the event of the 2016 Olympics in Prague, but Prague's bid did not make it to the final.
At present, the further fate of the stadium is being decided

Smíchov is an urban district and cadastral territory in Prague on the left bank of the Vltava, belonging to the Prague 5 district. It borders Mala Strana to the north, Hlubočepy to the south, and Radice to the southwest. The Smíchovský cadastre extends to the west-north along Plzeňská Street to the border with Motol. In its upper part, except for short sections, Plzeňská Street forms the border between Smíchov and Košíře. On the opposite right bank of the river are Nové Město, Vyšehrad, and Podolí from the north. The large Vltava island Císařská Louka (opposite Vyšehrad and Podolí) and Dětský Ostrov also belong to Smíchov. From 1903-1921, Smíchov was a town; from 1838, it was a suburb. In the middle of the 19th century, Košíre was also part of Smíchov, which later became independent. The most likely period of origin of the name Smíchov is the reign of Charles IV. In 1383, the church of St. Jacob. In 1386, the local lands were divided into parcels, and a settlement was created, where the population came from different places and thus "mixed." Smíchov is documented for the first time in 1402 (some sources state 1406 or even 1421 - gladiators in Smiechow, Hortus humuleti cum viola, qui situs est in Smiechow).

✋😊❤️
Thank you ,Vladimir!, I went through this area several times and didn't know what it was called because I was confused by the buses and had caught the wrong direction . It was a good thing though because I stopped off at a coffee shop at one point in the commercial area and had a conversation with an elderly woman that I will never forget. I remember those lovely homes and the winding streets. All of the history is fascinating.
You are very welcome! ✋😊❤️ What did that woman say to you?
Good evening Vladimir. This was a very interesting walk. Was that the area called Hřebenky? The villas there are simply colossal
😀 It seemed they are bigger than in Hanspaulka or Ořechovka. Beautiful and quiet area to live.
Hi, Helena! Yes, it is. The problem for me is always what to call this or that neighbourhood. What was it like before or what is it like now? I've decided I'm going to call it by its current address. 🖐️🤣❤️
Nice music

Hi! This building's been in court for decades to find out who owns it. That's why it's abandoned. If you search for Hotel Vaníček you will find more information. 🖐️😊
Wow. Thanks a lot!
Thank you kindly 🌷🖖 Is this the area where Staropramen Brewery located?
Yes, it is near! ✋😊❤️
My world is miles of endless roads
That leaves a trail of broken dreams
Where have you been, I hear you say
I will meet you at the Blue Cafe
This is where the one who knows
Meets the one, who does't care
The cards of fate
The older shows
To the younger one, who dares to take
The chance of no return
Where have you been?
Where are you going to?
I want to know what's new
I wanna go with you
What have you seen?
What do you know that's new?
Where are you going to?
'Cause I wanna go with you
The cost is great, the price is high
Take all you know and say goodbye
Your innocence, experience
Mean nothing now
'Cause this is where the one, who knows
Meets the one, that does't care
Where have you been, I hear you say
I'll meet you at the Blue Cafe
Where have you been?
Where are you going to?
I want to know what's new
I want to go with you
What have you seen?
What do you know that's new?
Where are you going to?
Cause I want to go with you
So meet me down at the Blue Cafe
I said meet me down at the Blue Cafe
Where have you been?
Where are you going to?
I wanna know what's new
I wanna go with you
What have you seen?
What do you know that's new?
Where are you going to?
I wanna go with you
Down to the Blue
I meet you at the Blue Cafe
I meet you at the Blue Cafe
The Blue Cafe
