    Very helpful info. Especially the one about saying you are a travel agent. I did not know that travel agent’s are not eligible for the presentation gifts. Woohoo, I will be using that one from now on.
    Another tip - do not answer their initial questions, they really get pissed but I do not care. I remind them that I came for the presentation, not a sales pitch. I am not interested and not going to buy. I am not afraid to have a stranger get pissed off at me, especially one who wants to sell me something I do not want. ~Elizabeth

      Hi Elizabeth! Yeah I usually just stop them mid-sentence and say that and they walk away BUT sometimes they tell me to lie and say I'm a teacher or something. It's all a game to them. Used to be you could also say you're from Quebec because they have really weird rules there and wouldn't allow it but that seems to have changed recently.
      Thanks for your tip on not answering! What a brilliant solution!

    I purposely go for the freebies. For my husband and I it's worth it. Going to them is not for the faint hearted. You go through a lot of high pressure sale tactics and multiple people. We just say no and stick to our guns. The first time was scary but now its easier.

    TOP TIP for dealing with High Pressure Timeshare Sales Presentation:
    I brought along a full sized bag of extra crunch potato chips. Every time the presenter got to a dramatic sales pitch part, I started rolling my bag of chips. It was loud.
    Then I would stand up and say "My bad." and sit down, because I am English and that's the polite thing to do.
    That lasted about 10 minutes then they asked me to step outside.
    As I went outside, I passed by the table with the giveaways and I took my two champagne bottles and two envelopes filled with COCO BONGO tickets with me.
    That's called WIN - WIN!

    Not all are created the same. It’s like comparing a versa with a Lamborghini. You have to know where to own for it to work. I suggest Wyndham/Worldmark as they own the exchange company that is going to enable you to get to where you want to go and when.

      Hi Victoria! Yes I agree - a friend of mine has a couple different time shares and has a massive inventory of places to go but often ends up in some hole-in-the-wall place because she's got to use this year's worth & nothing decent is available. Works for her though as she just turns it into a chance to read loads of books & avoid housework or cooking!

If you don't have some seriously strong will power, I'd probably suggest skipping it - not worth the money to ruin a whole day of vacation (or worse - catch you in a weak moment and have you sign up for a contract!). Just hit your resort and enjoy being on vacation. Good luck!

    Some of the information in this video is false. If you do not stay for the full time until the end of the presentation, you will NOT not be gifted anything. So you can’t leave until it’s done. They always run overtime. I used to sell timeshare. So let’s say they’re at two hours and they barely started presenting you the financing they have to go through the whole process of showing you the packages and trying to sell you on it
    and then they send you to this last resort person called “discovery“ and then that person says that they are customer service and how did everybody treat you and blah blah blah and then they try to sell you like a mini trial package that lasts like a year or something. It’s a long process. Then once discovery is done with you, they are the ones that take you to get the gifts in a different department. So no, you cannot set a timer and leave early. U will not receive the giftsxpromised ! In fact, some of the companies will probably just charge your credit card for the full stay and say you violated the terms and conditions! 🤷ðŸ¼â€â™€ï¸ðŸ¤·ðŸ¼â€â™€ï¸

    • @ChristineTurner
      @ChristineTurner  9 หลายเดือนà¸à¹ˆà¸à¸™ +1

      Hi Tami! Yes you're correct - if you simply get up & walk out, they're not likely to give you anything, but my examples were of pushing the sales guy to finish up. They entered into a verbal contract with you to give you something and in return, you agreed to a presentation BUT with a time limit. They are always adamant that it will only be 2 hours and that's part of the contract. I know tons of people who set timers and get up after 2 hours and they have always gotten their freebies. I've also been told to do this by many of the guys selling you on going to a presentation. If your stay is part of the gift, that's just a dodgy endeavour altogether and I wouldn't encourage it - it's always best when you have some control over the situation.

      @ChristineTurner  à¸›à¸µà¸—ี่à¹à¸¥à¹‰à¸§

      Hi Ayd! Well that's bold and I've tried that and they just wouldn't give over the gift until the 'supervisor' had come over and given us the gears about why we didn't want the deal. I also find them quick to shift to accusatory - "why are you here to take a gift if you aren't interested...how greedy are you?" and then I just feel gross because, yes, that's the game but they somehow make you feel like you're the one taking advantage. Big time mind games!!

      @@ChristineTurner I’ve been there when my brother in law has done it and it quite the scene 😊. They can’t hold you there against your will and he even said that once, they backed off immediately. They’ve never refused his gift because he’d make an issue in front of other prospects. As far as the guilt trip they try, just say you agreed to listen for 90 min, not buy. Point is you must keep walking!!

      Ok so, my wife and I bought a timeshare knowing what we were getting into, we accepted that going in. We knew what we wanted, how many points we needed the amount maintenance fees were ect. But on the first trip to a resort we were high pressured at check in to do an owners update and insisted it was required. Finally after 7 hours of driving and just wanting to check into my room I politely looked the lady at the concierge desk in the eye pulled out my phone and called member services and asked them to tell me where in my contract where it says I’m required to attend owners updates. The guy on the other end states “no owners updates are not required†input my phone on speaker and ask, can you repeat that sir.
      That worked pretty well to get out of an upsell meeting. Generally they just ask and relent when I say no.
      I will say that while I probably over paid we enjoy our timeshare, and it kinda forces us to not only take vacation but consider resorts in places we might not have otherwise considered. So other then the sales team wanting you to go to buy more points it’s not bad for us.

    To avoid it don't go! Why you are going for the presentation? You are just wasting your time to go the presentation and for the sales agent! Why you go Girl for the presentation? So stop going the presentation why and why you go for that presentation. 😂😂

      Hi Sagasbabe! Some people don't know how aggressive the sales people will be or they get tricked into attending - in these situations, I wanted to offer people a way out of the meeting. Thanks for watching!

      Yeah my wife and I when we were newly married and naive fell prey in our hotel lobby in Vegas. They are crafty getting you to agree to go to the meeting, and crafty trying to talk you into it. If they say 90 minutes easily double it.

    Your title says how to avoid!!! Instead of just recommending people simply say no thank you. You start off by telling people to outright lie. Just say no thank you and enjoy your vacations.

      Hi 3Plug77. Yes, it's simply easier to say no and skip the presentation but some people either get tricked into attending or are told it won't be as bad as it will be. Thanks for watching!

    As a timeshare owner I can’t believe some people are this cheap and childish. If you have zero interest in a timeshare then don’t go and waste the representatives whole day. This is how they feed their families you know? Value is perceived differently from everyone. What you find to be a huge up front cost may be a huge saving for people doing large trips. Don’t confuse your finances with everyone else’s.

      Hi Jorden! The problem is when you attend a presentation in good faith and expect to be "released" after the promised 2-hours but instead, get berated and bullied into trying to buy something they don't want. I have yet to find a timeshare program that offers good value for money and I've certainly never met anyone who was happy to have bought into one before but clearly you have found value in the one you purchased, so I'm happy for you.

      Or maybe they shouldn't try to lure people in with a "Free" vacation offer. By showing up you are holding up your part the deal, no one has to buy anything so no one is using anyone. We agree to exchange our time for what we were promised which is a free vacation. Where in anytime time share advertisement has it ever stated that you have to buy with their selling?
