I stopped watching when Joni announced her “engagement”. The whole setup to get viewers to accept and approve of it was a gaslighting work of art! She was obviously so manipulative and it was one of those moments when flashbacks make you realize how many other times you’d heard similar wording. That’s when the trust is gone. You suddenly have eyes to see and ears to hear.
So agree. Joni manipulated all in her midst. Doug is a wolf. Where were all her "Table Talk" friends when she decided to marry her friend's husband? Even if the whole progression was innocent, it gave the appearance of evil and makes them look so hypocritical. Joni is held to a high standard because of the authority given to her with this ministry. May she be humbled, admit her error and get out of the marriage and save her family. I can understand why they left and I support them. I was actually kind of shocked that his mom remarry so quickly. I think she should’ve waited a little bit longer. I think this put a wedge between her and her son and daughter-in-law and if it has, it’s very sad. this is not what Mark would’ve wanted for his family.
