Good to see the steady flow of videos back again. Not done a fire damaged piece for a few years.. might have to refresh that! So pigments and powders.. Pigments are made from either natural earth or synthetic materials. These require an acrylic carrier / binder /fixer. Pigments are generally finer than powders. Because of what they're made from this is why pigments are easier to remove from a model if you make a mistake than that of a weathering powder which as you know doesn't shift. Weathering powders are generally oil pastel or chalk based and only work with a solvent base medium to fix, bind or mix into a paint using enamel thinner, solvent varnishes etc.
Aftermath of an electrical fire in the ignition ,our neighbour back in the 70s van exploded one night it was full of cleaning chemicals that was an electrical fire ,Marley flooring that takes me back ,I’m getting old hehehehe ,nice work mate ,get a smoke unit and a fire appliance and have a scene where it’s just been put out .😃👍🏻
Absolutely fantastic i recently bought a hand full of ho scale transit vans for my Aussie layout build for my wrecking yard etcetera and this is perfect for what i want to do so this is a huge motivation for me absolutely love this great work as always my friend 😉😊🙏
fantastic video cant wait to give this a go on a more modern transit ! I note this one is on ebay a great purchase for someone modelling in this era of vehicle. Many thanks for doing this
Fabulous work. I am contemplating "weathering" a bus. Do you have any videos showing weathering vehicles with just road grime/dirt?. The bus models obviously come boxed and all shiny but that's not how they were in service in the 1970's before modern bus wash machines were about!
There’s not a video on just weathering vehicles, but I have a couple of vans to do soon so I’ll record one for you. Hope to get it done this week Are you using an airbrush?

An excellent creation but what about deflated tyres as they would not be fully inflated after a fire at the front as well as cracked windscreen from the heat?
Hi Les. You’re correct as the tyres would probably be deflated, although I’ve seen a few pictures with similar fire damage where the tyres have stayed intact oddly enough. And I’ve removed the front glass as that would have certainly not withstood the heat from the flames
@@BuntersYard it was an observation as I’d seen somewhere on a war diorama how to melt the tyres so they look deflated and it did look good as does yours . I’m always sharing your utube videos as they are extremely helpful and the finishing touches are great

I’m just working on another one now and have worked out a way to ‘deflate’ them. Looks good. These tyres are a rubber compound
