  • Preparing for disasters can be hard in the disaster-prone island of Vanuatu
And for people living with disabilities, not being a part of the preparation process is presents serious risk.
A local theatre in Vanuatu which focuses on telling the stories of people living with disabilities, is taking a deep dive on the topic - creating a performance encouraging audiences to include their loved ones living with disabilities in the preparation process.
The play ‘Bae I kam’ (meaning ‘It’s coming’) has been popular in villages across Vanuatu and recently featured on local television and radio
The project is supported by the Australian Humanitarian Project (AHP), implemented by ABC International Development in collaboration with Oxfam Vanuatu.
