    That's actually was very informative. I liked your "i'm feeling difficult, i feel that's easier" it tells a lot because we can't say by just watching the video

      Although english is not my native language I try to film my reviews without testing a product first, nor scripting what I want to say, it's mostly a "live" video, this way I can keep the realism and not have a pre-formed opinion about a product. Thanks for appreciating my review.

    Great review! I’ve ordered it yesterday and can’t wait for it to arrive next week! Only one question, how does it handle bumps and holes on the road? I’m using Xiaomi m365 scooter every single day for a year and a half now and I’ve learned how to avoid or handle them on my usual route (I ‘jump’ over them by lifting the front wheel, or squat if it’s smaller bump/hole - I know it’s not good for the scooter, but I feel less of an impact that way). I saw in the video you are bypassing speed bump on the road, is it just to avoid shaky video or because the bicycle doesn’t handle it well?
    Thanks and best regards from Croatia!

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! The bike is very ok, but not super ok for bumps as the wheels are rather small. For bad roads I prefer the Fiido D2 as it has suspension. None the less the QiCycle is high quality and it's a great bike.

  • @xattr8403
    @xattr8403 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Awesome video! I read that maximum load for this bike is 100kg, but do you know if it can be used if someone weights more than that? Will it break if someone weights more or is it still safe to use?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for the appreciation. The bike is really well built so it may hold more than the rated weight. My only concern would be the thin and light tires, probably easy to upgrade to something more resistant.

  • @lookoutleo
    @lookoutleo 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    good review, very intuitive. do you think they will upgrade firmware to english and regen braking?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for liking my review. I don't know if Xiaomi will ever release an English update for it, but after you use it a few times you will learn all the functions and won't need to "learn" chinese. Regen brake probably will never work as I don't think it's implemented physically as a system.

    Nice review, very well done!
    I got the international version but i've only had time to ride it twice so far, it's snowy where i live now so i'll have to settle for watching other people ride it on youtube. My first impressions of it was great apart from two things; the main steering pole was not concrete, it has a very minor wiggle, it's really nothing but it affects the otherwise solid feel of the bike. The magnet holding the folded bike together is either too weak or it's just a bad solution overall, and the motor should be on the rear wheel instead where the majority of the mass is situated when you paddle, but i guess it's a cheaper construction having it in the front and it's really not a big deal. It really seems like a great bike overall and i can't wait to use it more!

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  ปีที่แล้ว

      I think that you can adjust the steering pole to not have any play, mine was very stable. The front motor solution is interesting and it was done this way as the gears are in the rear hub.

      Yes, still in Chinese, but I've got used to it as you can do only a few things from it's menu: control lights, assist level, check power / calories and set the screen brightness. You can further use the smartphone app which is in english to check more details.

    What would you recommend for short city hops: bicycle or scooter?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      For short and quick hops I recommend the M365 scooter from Xiaomi, the folding design and weight enables it to be take with you also in places such as shops, public transport or inside other buildings. The range is ~ 20 km done on normal mode and on ECO you will get ~ 30 km but it's slow and accelerates as a snail. The QiCycle makes a good long range vehicle as you can do daily 30-40 km with it and don't worry about the battery life, you can pedal like on a normal bike and the rear hub is well geared for easy pedaling. Also speed wise the QiCycle is overall faster as you can keep 25-30 km speed and use bike path, or streets, where the M365 will top out at 25km/h and you will probably use mostly pedestrian walks making more stops. I have both and use both of them, the M365 is a daily user for going to work while the QiCycle is used for longer trips.

    hi, great review. i just want to confirm, you need to keep on pedalling this just for it to work? kind of silly question, but let me know anyway. thanks.

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello, it's just "pedal-assisted" so it will not work unless you pedal also. It uses a torque monitoring sensor which will measure your effort and the bike will compensate on your choosing with: 50,100 or 150% extra power, making pedaling very pleasant.

    • @dzhotodzhoto6419
      @dzhotodzhoto6419 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TechTronic9000 I was hoping I dont need to pedal at all, once I am tired. If I understood it in english right, one need to pedal always to drive forward, just less power? Does it shows the distance in km or only in miles?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is only assisted, so if you don't pedal it will not work, you can select the highest level of assistance you won't put a lot of effort. It is in km

  • @dannique
    @dannique 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hi, thanks for great review! On which speed is turning off the engine assistance? I saw on your video tahat you are going 27 kph and I still heared the motor assistance. Do you use original firmware?

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank for your appreciation ! The bike initially came limited to 20km/h, then, after the official firmware update it increased the speed to 25km/h. The motor will shut down completely at around 26-26.5km/h, depends on the load and the consistency of your pedaling. I usually get up to 27-28 km on 3rd gear after the assitance turns off, getting faster than than begins to be inefficient for it's size. Also if you are interested in buying a QiCycle just let me know, I can get some nice discount coupons for it.

    hi Paul, am just curious on the drivetrain. What is the brand made of it? Shimano? Is it only a 3-speed gear? How is it compared with conventional 7-speed drivetrain? Did it satisfy or cover all speed configuration?
    hoping to get one.
    Thanks for sharing.

    • @TechTronic9000
      @TechTronic9000  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Ramil, the rear hub is a Shimano Nexus 3, more exactly the SG-3C41 model, it has 3 gears with ratios: 0.733, 1.0, 1.360. The gear ratio total difference is 186%. For city use it works very good, on flat road i tend to use only the 3rd gear as the electric motor has plenty of power to compensate, my top cruise speed is 26-28km/h. The lower gears also work great when going uphill but yet again I can manage to go uphill most of the times in 3rd gear + 150% assisted mode. I find it actually better than my 21 speed mountain bike because I was changing a lot of gears in the city. If you want to get a QiCycle let me know and I might be able to get you an extra discount coupon, also if you are from Europe you can get it 100% tax free (no customs or VAT).

      It's an improvisation made out of GoPro mounts and a holder that works with this type of system, I don't recommend using it as a daily support, there are much better ones designed for this.

      It's OK uphill as well, you do need to put a bit of effort but it still can go up in 3rd (highest) gear, while the same hill is so steep that you care barely climb it in 1st (lowest) gear without assistance, so the motor does a great job. Generally it takes ~ 20 work days (one month). The producer (Xiaomi) has increased its price and limited the promotions and coupons that sellers give, but the link above has actually a good price considering the shipping and tax are already included ;)

    • @TechTronic9000

      The battery has a very long life span due to using high quality 18650 cells and a specialized BMS system which not only charges but also balances the cells. The bike also doesn't have a high drain so you get a long range and the battery is not stressed further improving life span by having lesser usage cycles.
