Much appreciation and i thank you for the attention. it's really interesting listening to your passionate take from this angle. Happy you gave us a shot having a good impact on you guys :) I take a graceful bow. Keep doing it from the heart. // Anders, Draconian
@Endemion01 Anders, what an amazing surprise to see a comment from the voice of “The Sethian” himself!! We love your band, Draconian! What would be one of your suggestions to react to next? It was hard to not pay attention with all the imagery that was on display and all tantalizing sounds. We have a lot more to say about your music and we would love to learn more about yourself and the band! It means the world you reached out to us! Peace and love, Cronic
Ahh the Sethian, Liberator most of time personificated with gnostic Christos or the hebrew Samael, breaking the shackles of Eve (Zoe, Life) opening the gates of Knowing and releasing the Sophia out of her prison made by the "God Usurper", there is many versions of gnosticism from sethians, samaelites, ophites yet much of them share the same aspects and similarities, Rebelion the path to own Freedom.
This female singer Heike left the band a few months ago to focus on her own family and projects. She was in the band from 2012 to 2012. She was replaced by her own predecessor Lisa who was in the band between 2002 and 2011. There are some other cool music videos or lyric videos. Sorrow of Sophia is pretty sweet.
Since I was in the chat talking about the wave of Norwegian doom/goth metal bands that appeared in the 1990's, I'll give you some links here: The 3rd and the Mortal * Formed in 1992 in Trondheim, Norway, initially with classical soprano Kari Rueslåtten (pronounced KA-ree RUE-eh-SLOH-ten) on vox, although she left after the first album in 1994 and the band would gradually move on to different styles of music using other vocalists. This band was apparently the first band to mix (more or less) classical soprano singing with metal, paving the way for bands that you have become familiar through the channel. Their first full-length album, titled "Tears Laid in Earth", is cited by Tuomas in Nightwish as one of the main inspirations for starting Nightwish. * th-cam.com/video/ELQA_6sdfP4/w-d-xo.html (their entire debut EP from 1993, 20 minutes long, the world's first proper recording of this now iconic mix of soprano and metal; the first song is in Norwegian) * th-cam.com/video/YekwkaTGEuc/w-d-xo.html (original vocalist Kari with session musicians, when touring as "Sirens" with the singer from the next band + Anneke Van Giersbergen; the song otherwise appears on their first full-length album) * th-cam.com/video/CCZK-LU1-8I/w-d-xo.html (studio recording, taken from their first full-length album) * th-cam.com/video/UzJEdNngx10/w-d-xo.html (studio recording, taken from their first full-length album) Theatre of Tragedy * Formed in 1993 in Stavanger, Norway, initially with Liv Kristine on vocals. They combined classical-ish female vocals with male growls from Raymond Rohonyi, turning their songs into small "plays", writing their songs mostly in Elizabethan English, but also using German and Latin. * th-cam.com/video/P4nTIXMmLYg/w-d-xo.html (studio recording, a good fan-made video using footage from the Vincent Price movie "The Masque of the Red Death", from which the band had picked out several dialogue parts to create spoken-word section in the recording -- these are matched up in the video) * th-cam.com/video/qBuIov78d8U/w-d-xo.html (concert footage from Poland) * th-cam.com/video/Kf8CEhkT0D4/w-d-xo.html (concert footage from Poland again) * th-cam.com/video/DLLW8veg_rY/w-d-xo.html (at a reunion show between the two original vocalists, the others are session musicians; this song is partially in Latin) * th-cam.com/video/QpcvCpn6OyE/w-d-xo.html (studio recording, lyrics inside the video) Tristania * Formed in 1996 in Stavanger, Norway, initially with Vibeke Stene (pronounced VEE-beh-keh STEH-neh) on vox. To my ears, the hardest-sounding band in this genre, and I hear a lot of similarities with Epica when Epica is at their harshest. This band is still active, but have moved on a bit stylistically after changing female vocalist. * th-cam.com/video/DfFhRsWm6yg/w-d-xo.html (studio recording, official video but mostly contains live footage) * th-cam.com/video/fVV7XZIcFiU/w-d-xo.html (studio recording, just static image)
Great Reaction. Check out their song Stellar Tombs sometime. I love every song from Draconian's last 4 albums(the 4 albums I have listened to). If you want more deep, dark, and beautiful music
Loved your reaction. You can never go wrong with Draconian, one of the milestones in Doom/Gothic metal. Here are some tracks by them I think you're gonna love: -Sorrow of Sophia -The Sacrificial Flame -The Cry of Silence -Bloodflower -She Dies -Heaven Laid in Tears (Angel's torment) -A Scenery of Loss -Death, come near me -Earthbound -Pale Tortured Blue.
If you read up on Sethian Gnosticism you'll understand this even more.. most of their songs are based on Sethian Gnosticism which is original Christianity.. before the Romans burned all of them and their books. Sethian Gnostics rejected matter and believed God to be infinite, while the Romans and then the Byzantine empire forced the masses to believe in a finite Jesus with finite human emotions like jealousy, anger, rage, and such. ...which is why they call the "main stream" God a demon and telling everyone they're dreaming. It's the dark veil of the misperception that matter is the only reality that is causing people to stay forever lost (mountain of souls). You should check out sorrow of Sophia next..
You're not entirely right. Sethianism is one of the forms of early Christianity. There were many others along with it. Some cults died out on their own, while others were destroyed by the church as heresies. You are wrong that the Sethians argued with other Christians that only the spiritual world exists or that god is infinite. Christians also postulate the infinity of god and the existence of a spiritual world. The fact is that the Sethians reject the Old Testament god-creator and consider him a demon. They do not reject Jesus in principle, although they do not consider him a god, like many other Christians. The Sethians think of the material world as nothing other than a prison. And they do not deny its existence, but they consider it evil. Essentially, the song reflects the rebellion of the Sethians against the false god-creator. Speech against other Christians and their belief in a god-creator.
Awesome reaction 🤘 You will have some likes and views, no quantity, but 1000% Daconian quantity the best in their genre doomy gloomy style, the beauty and beast vocal, the best in the metal music🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘 Please react to The heaven lie in tears!
