I feel like I say this on every video??? but HERE IT IS AGAIN: I love the way you balance humor and Real Talk. you're making software engineering and self-love so much accessible to people
Hey, I've failed many times, I failed committee interviews, internship interviews, my peers don't even consider me for hackathon participation. Yet I am going to rise. Thanks for the video !
Holy crap your video is so relatable it's uncanny. I'm currently a sophomore at Georgia Tech who failed dozens upon dozens of interviews and had only two real offers on hand before I interviewed with Google. Thought I messed up my second interview cuz it wasn't on something I wasn't prepared for (surprise surprise lmao) and struggled through that agonizing week of waiting. Thankfully though, I did manage to get the SWE internship! And I get to do machine learning which I'm super passionate about. This was my goal for such a long time and I now feel like I need to find a new goal or passion in life. Thanks for sharing your experience!
Lmao. I’m pretty sure this is what Facebook did to me. “ Should we let Tyler know she didn’t get the internship? ” “nah let’s let her get excited and tell people first”. I didn’t get it. 😂
I was at this stage recently. My gf was encouraging me to apply at Amazon and I kept telling her that I’m sure to fail. But one morning they sent me an invite for an interview. Was telling my gf that there’s no way I’d pass but it’s still cool to interview there as it’s one of the biggest IT companies out there. Then I watched this video. The line “if you don’t think you’re good enough to work at Google, me neither but I applied anyway” really inspired me, and now I work at Amazon. 😁 Thank you Jarvis for the encouragement.
Love the video man. I'm a Junior CS Major right now and I couldn't agree more with what you said. It's all about shrugging off and learning from failure to bolster your future. Keep up the great content!

Hey man, I know you're so done with tech stuff, but I've been feeling incapable to land an internship as a sophomore, but your words in the last part from this video lifted up my mood! Thank you so much for sharing. Such a man.
This video was absolutely just what I needed to hear. I had a recruiter from a BIG tech company contact me and wanted to schedule an interview. I have my technical interview coming up next week. I don't feel the most confident when it comes to software development, but I did not want to turn down an opportunity to interview with one of the biggest names out. I have been studying and practicing, and I still feel like I know nothing. I decided I will focus on what I do know and perfect that, and just work on my thought processes. At first I was focusing on getting my code/syntax correct, but I have asked around and it seems like a lot of HM are focused on your thought process, and from this video, it seems like your recruiter was focused on the same thing. I have just discovered your videos and they are perfect. I find myself looking at you as the male version of myself. Oh yeah I am a CompSci major as well.
This is an awesome video. I'm a software developer, but I'm self taught and in a bind of whether or not to learn fundamentals like algorithms, in depth data structures, etc... This video is motivating. Thanks for sharing!
Hey dude, thanks for this. Just got my first small time SE internship position and felt like I totally didn't deserve it because I didn't do great on the interview, couldn't even fully solve a relatively easy coding problem due to blanking and still feel internally embarrassed about it. This helps, keep doing what you're doing.
I love your positive attitude and reframing of what failure should look like before you land an opportunity that works out. You seem like a really cool person to work with!

Hey man, I know you uploaded this a while back, but thank you so much for giving me inspiration so I can keep going. I'm currently a student going to school for game programming, and working on my portfolio (for the second official time) and I always get nervous. I got my internship from the first company I applied to (a start up). And my upcoming job at the third company I applied since graduation. Somehow I was able to get hired fast but sometimes I kinda doubt myself especially after looking at many of my friends that are better than me in programming failing several interviews. I feel that i lack the failures and experiences that my friends have. I have no idea if my friends have higher standards since they always complain about difficulty of finding a job while I found it pretty quickly. The lack of failures makes me hard to gauge my ability in the workforce despite I know my programming skills are inferior to my friends in university

"No, let's wait till he tells his friends and family and gets little hopeful... That's when we strike"
Man, this got me so hard xD xD xD So true especially for Google xD xD xD
Please tell us about the time you stormed out of a Microsoft interview.
"that's when we strike" hahahahhahahah
Hey man just subbed. I really like your channel. You mix humor with a profound insight about professional development all with great video editing. Keep up the great content bro :)
funny man, love this "forest joke"
I got my internship from the first company I applied to (a start up). And my upcoming job at the third company I applied since graduation. Somehow I was able to get hired fast but sometimes I kinda doubt myself especially after looking at many of my friends that are better than me in programming failing several interviews. I feel that i lack the failures and experiences that my friends have. I have no idea if my friends have higher standards since they always complain about difficulty of finding a job while I found it pretty quickly. The lack of failures makes me hard to gauge my ability in the workforce despite I know my programming skills are inferior to my friends in university
