I managed to come to 00:47 so far but it seems solo after this is not practicable with the metronome i suppose? Am i right? Is there any other way to practice this solo ? Maybe a different kind of fast practicing video you can recommend might help me achieve kinds of solos like this? great tutorial by the way.
Thanks Tarkan I'm glad you like the lesson. Well, as you can tell, this is a very challenging solo to master so there are no shortcuts, putting in the time and effort is a given. Here are a few tips- first of all stop worrying about the the speed/tempo you can play at the moment, it's gonna take time to get there so don't beat yourself up because that's very counterproductive. Second thing- there is a big difference between playing a song and practicing it. When you wanna master a certain section of a song it's very important to be MINDFUL what exactly causes you the problem - is it picking, is it crossing strings, maybe it's the position on the neck that's giving you the problem and so on- so focus on the particular detail so you can start working on it ( there are countless lesson on YT for any of these problems, I'll paste you the link of a video at the end that helped me out a lot). Third thing- every famous guitarist has a certain way/technique of playing certain licks so it's a good idea to get familiar of HABITS of that guitarist if you wanna get that sound or articulation in your own playing . For example - when Yngwie plays ascending licks he always uses economy picking, when he plays descending he plays it in combination of alter. picking, pull offs, legato. So playing it like he does ( in his approach to scales, crossing strings with economy picking and so on ) might make things easier then how you are use to (maybe your way is harder to get the same notes out). Fourth thing- always practice in small chunks so you can really focus on what you're doing and how you are doing it. Here is the video that help me a lot, it's a serial that Troy Grady did about analysing Yngwie's technique - it's called 'Cracking the code' so check out these two episodes (ep. 9 and ep. 10 called 'Inside the volcano'). Here is the link to ep. 9 th-cam.com/video/7TnddE2k598/w-d-xo.html

First off thanks for this awesome tutorial, the way you show each lick at different speeds only helps with the learning process :) Did you do your own extended version of the backing track or is there one simliar somewhere? All the backing tracks I found are shorter than this one. Cheers!
Thanks Matias, I'm glad you like the lessons. You're right, I had to do my own extended ( edited ) version of a backing track I found on YT because this is a G3 live version meaning it's improvised on stage, so the keyboard player pretty much had to 'chase' Yngwie's improvisation and adjust to his ideas on the spot, so in order to compensate for all of that I had to copy or extend certain sections of the backing track. Here's the link to the original ( unedited) backing track I used ( it's in the key of standard E so bare that in mind, because Yngwie's in E flat) th-cam.com/video/HqlKxX7QQ9s/w-d-xo.html
