Thx man, I was in the same boat as you. Hadn’t ridden in over a decade then end of 2019 season grabbed myself my Trek and it’s been quite the journey :) Hydrocut is my favourite, they have a good mix of everything and it’s easy to follow the trails. Let me know how it goes for you 🤘
@@BikingwithJP that’s really awesome JP! I’m happy for you that you’ve come back and that you’re enjoying it, your channel is filled with so many great places that I want to check out. I’m in Brampton so sooner or later I’ll get out to the hydro cut and ride those awesome features 😃
It’s an addiction. I love exploring so building my skill level feels like unlocking new trails to explore. Glad you’re enjoying my vids and it’s getting you interested in biking. Maybe I’ll see You out there one day! You just missed the yearly group ride I host - Ontario’s Wildest Chairty Ride! But I’ll be back out whenever I can 🤘make sure to check out a Hydrocut’s instagram for trail status before making the trip there!
@@BikingwithJP it certainly is an addiction! I grew up riding and due o injuries and reconstructive knee surgeries I had to take a break so I’m quite glad to be back, just no skateparks or jump lines for a good while haha. Ahh darn I’m a bit upset about missing that group ride! Oh well there’s next year! That would be great to hit a trail someday! I’m sure it will happen one day! The fact that you’re actually local and the trails in your videos are places I can go to really turned me into to your channel and one other dude I think his tag is YSB, down by turkey point. Really cool man :) I’m glad to have stumbled by your page
The trail builders here are really awesome. Loved the jumps on "Flow Thru". Didn't mind the climb back up... well worth it. They're working on another new one called "Angry Judy" which runs off of "Jessica". It also has some wood features. I'm loving the new trails here!
Agreed, they have done an amazing job here. I can’t wait to see what they have been doing with Angry Judy! We had planned to go down Jessica to see the new wood bridge there but never happened 🤷♂️ will need to go back!
What did you think of the trail? The new trail opened just that morning so it wasn't surprising that there were some loose spots that need to be ridden in. Have you taken this trail yet? What did you think of the Da Vinci Bridge? I think the Da Vinci Bridge looks awesome and makes the trail feel special 🤘I didn't expect it to feel so high up and have no place to put a foot down!
By Da Vinci bridge it means no nails or bolts? Overtop of an active trail below... to do that properly must take a little know-how and quality lumber. Curious where the budget at hydrocut comes from, they look like super quality builds.
Good Questions, money comes from trail donations (you can buy from LBSs in the region or online) and trail sponsors. They have a huge budget - for example they are building a new trail right now with an estimated cost of $30-35k. I’m not sure how much this bridge cost, BUT they do save on lumber as they have a portable mill from which they can rip trees into useable wood. They also have partnered with the rock quarry so they have lots of access to rock (some armoured trail sections at HC, rock climbs and gardens, even a trail named Arriscraft after the gravel company). As to the design and build of the bridge, check out the description for a detailed build video from the creators from ideation to completion. Glad you enjoyed my videos - feel free to sub to see more trails and other MTB vids 🤘
Thx I loved it all except the climb portion 😝 - North Van is always the bar. I’m riding with my friend Andrew that day - I’m on the red bike he’s on the green bike.
Yeah if you live in Ontario now and near Hydrocut this is one of the more developed trails for sure. Do you live far North or South of Hydrocut maybe I can recommend more trails.
@I_identify_as_a_human 3 hours is a bit if a hike but there are near 40k of single track at Hydrocut. They are working on a new trail there Angry Judy that isn’t done yet but has a budget of over $30k and then one of my favs is Adam’s Run. If you go you must check out that trail. Feature Compilation - Jumps, Crash, Rock Climbs/Step Ups - Adam's Run th-cam.com/video/z71Mi4y_WfU/w-d-xo.html I heard Sir Sam’s kinda closer to you has a lift but I’ve never been and some in the TO area I have yet to visit as well. Kelso was good for DH but you have to climb back up. Hope you find something you like 🤘
Cool videos man! I just picked up a hardtail after not riding for 12 years so now I have to get out or hydro cut and check this out!

Trail looks fun. Almost as good as some of the tails in North Van. Why does the bike keep changing colour?

@@BikingwithJPtoo bad those trails are so far for me. I’m 2 years removed from Vancouver and this place looks like it might be a good replacement.

This is what happens when you create a trail as an excuse to make a Da Vinci Bridge as the trail loops back overtop of itself 😂
