    Getting locked into a server room in the wee hours of the night during the weekend forced me to learn a new shell, and the tools it provided. Almost 30 years later, I’m posting a video on TH-cam showing skills like working with vi in a bash shell tied to Azure. Totally insane. Share your defining moments as an administrator in the comments... I’d ❤️ to know what they where! Hope you found this episode useful!

      if it's a Fundamentals class, don't use shortcuts on everything.

      Very early in my career, my manager told me one day: "you're teaching a unix sysadmin class to paying students next week!" I had to cram the entire syllabus after hours (I still had my day job). Thanks to that, 25 years on, I'm still more familiar with unix and linux even though I work with Windows on a daily basis.

    Thank you for this video. Azure Portal is easy for me compared to Azure CLI. I have been getting confused when using Azure CLI, particularly in Microsoft Learn, while doing exercises in a Sandbox. When a command fails, I do not understand Azure CLI well enough to fix it. Your video helped and I am looking forward to watching and learning more.

    Though I could never pretend to fully understand the depth of information about the or Azure CLI that you shared, I can easily appreciate the need to learn with such intensity when locked in the room on a Friday night. Being pushed against the wall like that really empowers you to find options you would never have otherwise looked for. Well done ... thank you!!!

    Working at a chemical manufacturing plant with tons of toxic things and 2 networks: Admin and Control Systems. Admin network got hit by ILoveYou virus, and the 17th version started killing machines. Cisco networking admin used Windows on Admin network and always had to troubleshoot Control Sys coms issues. Learned REALLY fast how to perform DFIR, CLI, automate patching, and lock down configs so I didn’t wind up swimming in toxic soup.

    Azure released the Azure CLI Interactive mode, you can launch it using az interactive , this way simplifies all Azure CLI tasks

    Very detailed video. Thanks. Unfortunately, a bunch of stuff isn't working for me. I didn't even get past 5:00. It's an absolute nightmare and I hate all of the command line stuff. I though we'd gotten past this crap in the 90's with the widespread adoption of GUIs but it's all back again.

    Which command would you use to show and create a MS teams channel? :)

    • @KnowOps
      @KnowOps  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You probably want to check out the M365 CLI instead. Then you can do: "*m365 teams channel list*"
