What i would consider one of the best bojack horseman episodes is when Bojack is underwater, there is no dialogue for pretty much the whole episode, just to set up one joke at the end. the thing is, no dialogue is like any other out of the ordinary style (i cant think of the word im looking for its close enough) like practical effects and using older types of film or poor quality mics etc. anyone can do it but it requires a lot more skill to execute flawlessly like Up and Bojack did.

well, it's how Sophia got Zoey into the cult in the first place. In the first episode we see her from years ago, she's crying in class because her grandma died so Sophia's mother teach her how to endoctrinate Zoey by giving her a bible at her worst moment, and we see Zoey in every episode after that becoming more and more embrigaded and isolated from others as Sophia make her study the bible. And since a few episodes her mom is also brought to the cult.

We were the perfect family in the kh with parents sitting front row. Never missed a meeting Our stepmum (biological mum died when I was 10 who got the truth). Dad was remarried within 2yrs to a sis with no children who was clueless about kids. She got the truth as an adult from her dysfunctional mother. Sadly a very cruel lady that bragged about placing 100mags a mth on a street cnr. Sadly the stepmum was so like her mum. We were the jw very dysfunctional family at home with family fights every night. Many at the dinner table bc she was raised in a boarding school. Us 3 kids in a normal public school. So one of us including dad were interested in eg tipping our soup plate away from us. I had to stand up for myself at 12 but also my sis n bro. That's a very believe it or not short version of our jw dysfunctional family. But now as a adult I realize u can come from a dysfunctional family with biological parents whether a jw or not. Anyone can walk into a church blding or kh dressed in nice clothes n give the best answers but still be anything at home from a pedaphile to an alcoholic or a physical abuser or mental abuser to their partners. I learnt that word dysfunctional family at about 40 from a family therapist. I hadn't sort help. We met at a swimming pool n became friends. I am a female in the 80s helping to work to build a 2 day kingdom Hall. My husband and I did the electrical. I wore a hardhat and tool belt and every time I left the building to go to the bathroom outside portable John, they tried to stop me from going into the hall we were building because I was a female and the females were only allowed outside to pass around cupcakes and water. That's what my sister did. Anyway, I said listen I have a hard hat right? And always carried in more electric equipment. I said do you want electric or not? Finally they let me pass. Women weren't allowed to work except for woman duites according to their thinking. So they've changed that sounds like.. so woman can do heavy construction now but not give a talk? Hmmm. Interesting 😂
Just wanted to add to that whole “bringing kids to a meeting is hard” thing. I’ve been disfellowshipped since 2022 but when I would help my (still in) mom with getting my baby twin sisters ready for a meeting and then keeping them occupied and quiet during the program while you’re trying to also “take in spiritual food and pay attention and take notes (like you’re more or less required to do or else you get looked down on) It’s very difficult! Not to mention families with special needs children. And don’t get my started on conventions and assemblies 😭🤦♀️ There was also an older sister in our Kingdom Hall that would shame my mom when the twins would “be too loud and distracting” that she told her that our family should sit in the library. For throes who don’t know the library is a room in the back on the Kingdom Hall that’s separated from everyone else and has a big window and a sound system so you could hear and see what was going on still. Very rude and easy for an old judgey woman to say who has no kids to watch and entertain 😂
@@EL-IZ-At-BETH-sarim I just find it really interesting that they expect people to build these real estate projects such as kingdom halls and whatnot. But they expect them to not get any form of any higher education. So there is no guarantee that when they build these places that they know exactly what they're doing properly and know how to make sure that things are up to code if they even care about making sure that the buildings are up to code. And think about it there's a lot of math and geometry that goes into building structures to make sure that they are not only structurally sound but that they can withstand a lot of abuse from the elements outside. Not to mention the fact that you know a lot of Dimensions go into making something as simple as a staircase so that way the actual pitch of the staircase isn't too high that you are tripping up the stairs because the steps are too tall and they're not too low that you feel like you're having to drag yourself along the staircase just to get up a flight of steps. So it's just really interesting how they expect these people to build buildings without some semblance of Education unless it's their indoctrination videos

I love how they portrayed the family in the beginning. I nearly forgot that she had lost her grandma and that's how she and Sophia became friends. I really like the wordless opening and I think it showed alot of creativity and heart in handling the subject. I have a feeling that if they show any of the bullies from the series, they'll definitely use the unfavorable portrayals of worldly people.

I think the lack of talking is either something that they think is really artistic, or they’re trying to avoid voice acting as much as possible in case they lose voice actors or the voice actors get too old like the original ones seem to have.

25:35 We are not allowed to have worldly friends at school, and I think that out a part on why I barely interact with people now, I was always bored in the Hall from a young age, and I always wonder what was wrong with me, why couldn’t I be more into the message they send. Even in the hall, unlike the other kids I didn’t really talk to anyone they would say I was just quiet, and it was true but even if I could have friends there my own mother would not “approve” any of the kids and I would be told not to talk to them. That was really the difference between my siblings and me, They had more friends and were smart enough to take advantage of their freedom, while I was born last and the most watched as to not follow my siblings mistakes.
It’s really sad cause there are good genuine people in this cult that just will never question Jehovah or the governing body and think they’re perfect

I am a female in the 80s helping to work to build a 2 day kingdom Hall. My husband and I did the electrical. I wore a hardhat and tool belt and every time I left the building to go to the bathroom outside portable John, they tried to stop me from going into the hall we were building because I was a female and the females were only allowed outside to pass around cupcakes and water. That's what my sister did. Anyway, I said listen I have a hard hat right? And always carried in more electric equipment. I said do you want electric or not? Finally they let me pass. Women weren't allowed to work except for woman duites according to their thinking. So they've changed that sounds like.. so woman can do heavy construction now but not give a talk? Hmmm. Interesting 😂

Just wanted to add to that whole “bringing kids to a meeting is hard” thing. I’ve been disfellowshipped since 2022 but when I would help my (still in) mom with getting my baby twin sisters ready for a meeting and then keeping them occupied and quiet during the program while you’re trying to also “take in spiritual food and pay attention and take notes (like you’re more or less required to do or else you get looked down on) It’s very difficult! Not to mention families with special needs children. And don’t get my started on conventions and assemblies 😭🤦♀️ There was also an older sister in our Kingdom Hall that would shame my mom when the twins would “be too loud and distracting” that she told her that our family should sit in the library. For throes who don’t know the library is a room in the back on the Kingdom Hall that’s separated from everyone else and has a big window and a sound system so you could hear and see what was going on still. Very rude and easy for an old judgey woman to say who has no kids to watch and entertain 😂

@@EL-IZ-At-BETH-sarim I just find it really interesting that they expect people to build these real estate projects such as kingdom halls and whatnot. But they expect them to not get any form of any higher education. So there is no guarantee that when they build these places that they know exactly what they're doing properly and know how to make sure that things are up to code if they even care about making sure that the buildings are up to code. And think about it there's a lot of math and geometry that goes into building structures to make sure that they are not only structurally sound but that they can withstand a lot of abuse from the elements outside. Not to mention the fact that you know a lot of Dimensions go into making something as simple as a staircase so that way the actual pitch of the staircase isn't too high that you are tripping up the stairs because the steps are too tall and they're not too low that you feel like you're having to drag yourself along the staircase just to get up a flight of steps. So it's just really interesting how they expect these people to build buildings without some semblance of Education unless it's their indoctrination videos

But also had a Catholic myself....like Poland is the land of Pope's and highly devout and conservative Catholics they ate also very conservative in imagination matters it just feels like an oxymoron that JWs are their Poland isent above restricting faith their are plenty of people alive their that remaber the dictators and communism and at times people could not worship openly they could go to a church yet not read the Bible that had to be done at home. I love how they portrayed the family in the beginning. I nearly forgot that she had lost her grandma and that's how she and Sophia became friends. I really like the wordless opening and I think it showed alot of creativity and heart in handling the subject.
I have a feeling that if they show any of the bullies from the series, they'll definitely use the unfavorable portrayals of worldly people.

I think the lack of talking is either something that they think is really artistic, or they’re trying to avoid voice acting as much as possible in case they lose voice actors or the voice actors get too old like the original ones seem to have.
