I love the scene with Rava so much this episode for so many reasons like: • it shows how similar Kendall is to his dad repeating his “I’m doing it all for my kids” bullshit while working against his kids and spending no time with them, • highlights the racism spewing from the company he runs to the point of it effecting his child and him doing nothing at all and no introspection on it, • it shows how despite how “woke” he tries to appear it’s bullshit, • the “where were you?” to Rava while he’s practically absent from their lives. It honestly to me is such a perfect encapsulation of everything I hate about him. He’s my favourite character btw.

I feel like the issue is BCS, The Leftovers, Dark change pretty drastically season over season not to mention first couple of seasons of BB are nowhere near the quality of later seasons. Tom OBLITERATED Shiv and it was completely justified. Those bits about "children" and "being broken" were NUCLEAR. It was cathartic to watch these two tell the fucking truth after 4 seasons. Praise be to Macfadyen and Snook for their work on the characters for the whole show to get to this point, let alone this scene.

Of course it’s a fucking minus.” She’s been playing on an uneven playing field with sledgehammers to her kneecaps everytime she tries to climb the ladder out of the females-only snakepit. I think this may be a reason why she exhibits to much cruelty towards Tom - for once, she has the full power in that dynamic and she knows it. And seeing as Tom effectively became a sort-of “surrogate” for all of Shiv’s hatred of Logan’s boys club ideology, Tom became the perfect punching bag for Shiv to release all of her frustrations. “You’re a masochist and you can’t even take it.” Also, the whole scorpion. No matter what, they kill eachother without even trying. They are poison.

Im binging the show, literally watching a few eps then coming here to watch reactions. They are all terrible in their own right; But Shiv seems like the biggest piece of trash of all of them (Kendall is a very close second, but not for the same reasons). Up until this point, outside of the thing with Tabitha during the "bachelor party", Tom has had no confirmed side pieces. Tom has constantly showed he cared more about the relationship. Shiv has had her tribulations but I would reference a line from ep 7 of The Fall of The House of Usher: "He did you wrong... and its still no f*cking excuse". And even in earlier eps after Logan mentioned her being the next in line; there were many times where she was expected to step up for a purpose and refused to do so. Even in an ep this season when they go to Norway, Rome and Ken are trying to hash out if ATN should be included in the deal (in the woods with Shiv) and she just bails and says whatever you guys decide... Its just been annoying to watch the character be that way while constantly playing this "Im overlooked and mistreated" hand. She picks and chooses when to care, both professionally and in her marriage.

She’s been playing on an uneven playing field with sledgehammers to her kneecaps everytime she tries to climb the ladder out of the females-only snakepit. I think this may be a reason why she exhibits to much cruelty towards Tom - for once, she has the full power in that dynamic and she knows it. And seeing as Tom effectively became a sort-of “surrogate” for all of Shiv’s hatred of Logan’s boys club ideology, Tom became the perfect punching bag for Shiv to release all of her frustrations.

Tom is so clearly in the right and it’s crazy to me that people actually support Shiv over him. The writers are obviously Team Tom too considering the ending he gets.
I guess people can understand where she is coming from, it's pretty easy to say, shiv cheats, fuck Shit. Tom mah king, but a lot of people can understand her doingwhat she does after Tom betrayed her in S3 finale.

Ancient society used the scorpion as a symbol for "back biter" so the director was trying to say something that I assume the average viewer is not gonna understand. A lot of back biting in this series. so Tom was insulting her or unknowingly foreshadowing

Im binging the show, literally watching a few eps then coming here to watch reactions. They are all terrible in their own right; But Shiv seems like the biggest piece of trash of all of them (Kendall is a very close second, but not for the same reasons). Up until this point, outside of the thing with Tabitha during the "bachelor party", Tom has had no confirmed side pieces. Tom has constantly showed he cared more about the relationship. Shiv has had her tribulations but I would reference a line from ep 7 of The Fall of The House of Usher: "He did you wrong... and its still no f*cking excuse". And even in earlier eps after Logan mentioned her being the next in line; there were many times where she was expected to step up for a purpose and refused to do so. Even in an ep this season when they go to Norway, Rome and Ken are trying to hash out if ATN should be included in the deal (in the woods with Shiv) and she just bails and says whatever you guys decide... Its just been annoying to watch the character be that way while constantly playing this "Im overlooked and mistreated" hand. She picks and chooses when to care, both professionally and in her marriage.
