    He uses various materials including laminated wood, glass fibre, adhesives, etc. It might sound paradoxical, but his philosophy is this: "It is not the ancestors whom we should follow. Instead, we should follow the very thing our ancestors followed." So, applying it to the materials used for bow-making. Our ancestors used the finest materials available in their own time in order to get the best bow possible, so why not use modern materials in modern times. Most probably they would do the same.

    Chick asks since building your bows based on Fabian Gyulas bow reconstructions, did you find anything new about the ancient bows or the old findings still stands? He then corrects her that the first bows were found by CS Sebestyen Karoly in the 1930-s realized that the bone fragments found in graves belonged to the bows and he drawed the possible forms of the bows and Kassai can`t really add any more to his works, but he followed the same principles the Hungarians used...

    CONT that it`s the same bloodline what the Hungarians used.
    CHICK: bla-bla are there any similar horses now in Hungary?
    KASSAI: There were several bloodlines found in hungarian horses Arabs, and from the 9th 10th century the akhal teke (akhal tekhini?) and we shouldn`t think about the 9th century that everyone had the same equipment and horses it was a really diverse and personalized mix of horses or stuff.

    @bubbaayx1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    So they tought eachother back to horsebreeds Cseppento has an Akhal Teke stud. About Poland he spent a month in 1978 in Poland when the polish were semi revolting against the russkies and against the commie paradise, and for him it was a really intresting experience and the polish were really friendly with him (Hungarians revolted against the russkies in `56 after that we had a totally different socialism than the other eastern bloc countires much more freedom)

  • @bubbaayx1
    @bubbaayx1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    CHICK intresting so every tribe and family used different equipment and animals in wars and in life? Kassai nods...
    CHICK: How does it feels to perform in Opusztaszer (its like the birthplace of the Hungarian nation i the carpathian basin) in front of a Polish delegate on a polish hungarian friendship day?
    KASSAI: it feels great he has fond memories of O-szer and the polish as well. His friend Cseppento Attila was living in O-szer and he was a really good rider while Kassai was a good archer

  • @bubbaayx1
    @bubbaayx1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    CHICK (when he walks around with horse and reloads arrows to hand): Now that the outdoor season started are you going to have a lot of performances?
    KASSAI: actually the season started in dec in Budapest sport arena where I had a new world record the jan switzerland feb china nov jordan and ofc I`ll have a lot of hungarian performs.CHICK: BS
    KASSAI: pleasantries supportive bruhaha
    Sorry for the lousy english didn`t really put too much effort into it just translated as I istened to it.

  • @bubbaayx1
    @bubbaayx1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    CONT. by using the best available materials he satrted to copy the forms, but there were immense changes, because nobody was avare that what power this nation had or the principles and effectiveness of horseback archery. Horseback archery was the peak of tactics and strategy of it`s age because of the immense speed and accuracy of shooting from the back of the horse which was proved by the last 20 years of sports activity and a lot of earlier hypotesises became facts.

  • @bubbaayx1
    @bubbaayx1 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    but average ppl because it`s more of a spiritual thing (way of thinking shit like this)
    CHICK (when he shooting at medevial knight model): Could horseback archery be a sport?
    KASSAI: It could be a lot of things if you look at it as a martial arts it could be reenacting as well as a sport of course it could be a way of life a philosophy and that`s why I live my life the way I live for me it`s a continuity it connects us with our past and it`s a healthy way of life and so much more....

    At the moment he tarins in 16 countries he just visited china and in inner Mongolia they want to build a massive horse center and a lot of nations starting to return to this who forgot it and he`s really happy that it started here in Hungary.
    CHICK bla-bla-bla what about your book which is almost impossible to buy in Hungary?
    KASSAI: I can`t get why it is so tedious it`s already at it`s third edition and you can get it in german and english and funnily enough not really horse archers buy it

  • @bubbaayx1
    @bubbaayx1 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    CONT as they run around placing targets: CHICK when shoving the horse: Bla bla bla How long does it takes to train the horse? KASSAI: It depends on 2 main things the horse and the trainer the horses mental physical psychological state and I can say teh same of the trainer as well so if all is well it takes about 1 to 2 years to train an outstanding horse but if the horse just doesn`t want to cooperate than you`ll never be able to train them.

  • @bubbaayx1

    CONT. if horseback archery would be taken away from my life nothing would be left of Lajos Kassai.
    CHICK:bla-bla-bla in Mongolia are there any horse brreds left which are similar to the horses hungarians used?
    KASSAI:bla-bla-bla (tlking about his chinese tarvels where how much what) important part he met with an old geezer and while Kassai talked to him he mentioned that he has 6000 horses kept in the same area where the Huns (eg. Attila the hun) kept their horses and Kassai strongly believes

  • @bubbaayx1

    CHICK: bla-bla-bla last 20 years sucked because old shitheads won`t accept new things KASSAI: since introducing this new stuff I wanted horseback archery to be part of horse sports and be part of the uni curriculum (hungarian sports uni has a horse sports branch) which the uni did and accepted his methods as valid and the sports uni HAS a horse archer training which he thinks is really important beacuse it started from here not just in the past but in the now as well.
