You have to treat EVERYTHING like a scam these days. Even if that means mistaking some genuine things for scams. I operate by the 24 hour and repeat rule; nothing is so important that I can't ignore it for 24 hours, decide to delete it, and if it is real then I can get it sent to me again and I will contact its owners myself. Note. There are some sophisticated scams that use deepfakes on zoom that evade even that degree of astuteness. But you can probably reduce your chances of being scammed to a very low level. All we can do.
Many devices, I know for a fact laptops with wifi modules that can in both WiFi and Bluetooth, can connect to multiple Wi-Fi networks at the same time. In Linux in userspace you can do that through creating additional network device from the same physical wifi card with `iw` tool, which is basically default on each distribution. So if you gain root on a target that connected through a WiFi, you can make it dual-homed, no need for a device that have ethernet cable and unused wifi module at the same time.
I wonder if Google would choose to stop paying Mozilla to have Google be default in Firefox? It would probably bankrupt that company who are reportedly 85% relying on google to subsidize operations. Also Google could simply stop contributing to chromium, and stop releasing new chrome builds for 5 years. That really doesn't sound like a big problem. Having to divest Android seems like a big problem for everyone who distributed Android downstream. In the future Google might not open source their future software products, and operate more like Apple who seems to avoid the bulk of the consequences for worse conduct.
