No human being should have to be "put in a position to feed their families". To each according to their needs, from each according to their abilities. Every human needs food, water, clothing, shelter, healthcare, positive social interactions, time for rest, these are just a few of the basic bare minimum needs that should be provided at birth. And global systems of oppression are set up such that the masses have to toil just for the basic needs to be met, while a few exploit and profit from the toil of the masses. Our fight is to dismantle, destroy all systems of oppression so, the masses can not just survive but thrive and flourish~~Only socialism leading to communism can lead to the dictatorship of the masses, the true makers of history.

"From each according to their ability, to each according to their work" is the motto of socialism. If, in EarDr scenario, he is putting in more labor than others at the restaurant than he should receive a proportional greater share of the profit. But in EarDr scenario, he is not a capitalist, but as someone already mentioned, petit bourgeois. He still as to labor to support himself in this scenario.

Great discussion today on capitalism and socialism. I want to pushback though on Amber's "Solidarity Economy" and her antagonism to nationalization which to me sounds alot like a Libertarian argument being wrapped up in social justice language. Jared is onto something regarding the avoidance of explicit communist/socialist language within "Solidarity Economy" so it's good to have further discussions on it.

Poverty shouldn't exist, Ear Dr. Capitalism rewards "good" ideas that perpetuate the narrative of a special person taking that business initiative. Hence, poverty must exist for those who don't. You can believe intentions change that but profit only happens one way under capitalism. Socialism, however, rewards anyone trying to better society regardless of profit and allows for alleviating poverty. So *we* can start a restaurant, solve food scarcity, and collectively profit off our community's resources in a *planned economy* versus capitalist requiring inequality to profit off the community's lack of ownership.

In reference to the old Apache Chief character, they've remade him as a younger guy named Longshadow and instead of growing 50 ft tall he creates an astral armor that gets big.

2:01:38 and then he makes backhand comments like this instead of putting in the work to READ, beloved. It’s downright infuriating. How many times have discussions like this been had where he asks his reactionary question, yall provide him with nuanced answers and then comes back with the same.exact.thoughts??? There is 0000000 evidence of ideological development and I expect more from this platform. We can disagree and there is room to learn for everyone but hosts on this platform should set the example, at least that’s why I come here. Ear Dr the community work that you’ve been doing for decades will only stand to benefit from committing to ideological development, please give that a thought.
