Hi, Joe is continually painting on the wet surface and will finish all of the washes before the paper dries. If you do not intend to complete the painting and want to allow the painting to dry overnight, it would be necessary to anchor the expanded paper with staples or clips or 2 in. tape. This will keep the paper flat and prevent it from shrinking as it dries. You can continue to develop the painting the next day. I hope this information helps your problem.Thanks!

I tried this method, and it worked!.... for about half an hour. Then it started to buckle in the corners and no amount of wetting the board underneath and placing the paper back down seemed to fix it :( What should I do?
@Lpslover009 No, you wouldn't be able to use watercolor pencils on wet paper. It'd still tear and dent the paper, and, since the paper's wet, the lead on your watercolor pencil would become weak and soft and it might end up crumbling.
I notice he's VERY fast in painting, so fast even when he says he's not rushing O_O .. everything seems so easy but when a novice tries the same thing before the paper dries, its very difficult ..
I wish you were my prof at my university. You demonstrated it perfectly! Btw, I have a question, if I painted in a long period of time like 2-10 hours (LOL) it will dry and will it also buckle? Is it best to staple AND tape it? I'll be waiting for your reply
Hi, I'm doing exactly what you say in this video, I've soaked the paper and got it to a point where the paper remains flat after about an hour or so, I then leave it overnight but it becomes extremely buckled, where I am I going wrong?
Why are you taking 20 minutes to do something I do in 5 minutes. Just run your paper under tap water and run four strips of tape along all sides. Done. . Set it aside and when it's dry you will have a drum tight stretch. If you don't want crisp edges, just don't paint to the edge.
This is not stretching paper, this is just wetting it down and letting it dry. If you want to know how to stretch paper watch my presentations. MCPOFreeman

why loose time put water with a small brush, insted dry slowly the intire paper in to tap water ?

Does anyone know how to rewet the paper if I cannot finish the painting in one session? Should I do the same as the first time?
Just purchased 50 sheets of 300lb from u sir :) could i use glass to strech paper on? I do have board but would it work on glass?
