Thank you so much! I'm 45 years old and have messed about with a guitar for 30 years, with three huge breaks... aka children! :) This is just the way I need to learn, I can follow so easily. Thank you again!!
well brother..this almost 60 yr old singer thanks you for somplifying this...been trying to learn guitar over 30 yrs...many things have impeded progress. this is one of my fave songs and I sing it all the time (Yes, old singer here trying to learn 6 string lol ) I am VERY confident that I can do this very soon as I already know the chords..just gotta get my jacked up rhythm squared away !! ty...well done sir !!

2 1/2 years of practicing beginner here. For me, I avoid any songs using the true F chord. I guess it's time I learned it! Love this song. Nice lesson. Thanks
You may need a set up on your guitar. I’ve been trying to play an F chord for a year. Received my guitar back from the shop today and waaalaaa I can play the F! 😊
@@kd5773 .. thanks. I've been using a cheap classic guitar since starting and the strings do sit kinda high. Maybe I'll treat myself to a better quality instrument.
You are "amazing" my friend I've been following you for the past year, most everyone here on your channel would agree that your playing The guitar makes your voice sound Great!! ..we don't know what we would do without you! Because teachers like you are far and "few".... Happy Easter my brother to you and your family...
I just got a C diatonic Hohner Crossover harmonica and a book of 50 easy songs containing this one, so I was looking for an easy guitar lesson as this one to make a video mixing both instruments. Thanks for a superb video.
This is very reason I put down my electric and fell back in love with my acoustic. These simple, beautiful songs that bring on the calm.... Thank you very much for this!
Thank u ..Sir..You're the best..!!.. i am a spanish guy.i learned english growing and listening to the music in English..now my goal is to play those songs in my guitar..!!
Amazing lesson! You educating me instantly as a beginner! A very warm and big THANK, to you, dear, sir! May God bless you and keep you and your family immensely richly blessed and safe! Best regards from Sweden! ❤💯👍👍👍❤
As a new starter, I really like your style of presenting, however, I don’t know the cordes, would be helpfull if you could show in more detail the finger position on the frets
When you sing with the song it really helps. I would have liked for you to play the entire song at the beginning or at the end of the lesson without stopping so we can hear it all put together and see the transitions. Thank you
I recently bought that same album. 👍.. And I have an awesome 8 track tape that is even better. so many great hits on the 8 track; I did have to refurbish the 8 track, but it was so worth my time.. now if I could only learn to play my guitar......... thanks for the videos.
Hello Darkness my old G ........lol 😂 😂 Your a Legend Thank you so much wanted to learn this song for ages straight to it picked it up almost immediately.
Thanks so much for watching! I suggest that to get started toward using all the fingers and to be able to move from finger picking to strumming without a pick
My biggest issue with this song is the capo on 6th, because it makes it difficult for me to do the barre F. My fingers are too squeezed together. So I upped the key in both my voice and the guitar :)
Lean & understand a three chord 1-4-5 chord progression, it’s easy. Most songs are written this way. Lean it in the key of A. Three easy chords, A,D & E. You can play hundreds of songs with these chords. Lots of info on TH-cam. It’s a good start. Then learn the G chord. Now you can play in the key of D too, D - G - A, ( you’ll already know the D & A chords). Hope this helps. You can do it!
Love this, so good! But very ftustrating for me as I dont understand half of it.. Watched it several times but still can't follow whats happening with the second picking pattern after the intro one...
Do you mean the strum pattern after the intro? Srarting on "Friend" and that G chord you strum a DU pattern. Strum down with your thumb and up with your index finger.
@@Relaxandlearnguitar thanks for replying. I meant the second picking section which was done on the lower notes than the intro. Couldn't tell if it was the same pattern or not.... I'm pretty new and totally useless at this, it's completely foreign to me 🤷🏼♂️😁
@@actiondefence Got ya. That one is more involved with an alternating thumb pattern that changes based on the chord. You could try slowing down the video to get it, I see you also signed up for my email list and the 3 song bundle which is a great place to start as a beginner :). Thanks for the support! and stick with it.
@@actiondefence well, that would solve the problem of being frustrated, but then no guitar.... Try starting with those songs in the song lesson bundle and come back to simon and garfunkel later.

Yes that could work.

Can it be done without a capo?i hate the capo.
Sure. You will have to transpose the key though.

It does take sone time. But you can play it with 4 fingers instead of a barre chord if you need to.
I cannot play the F chord!
How long you been at it?
silence is a sound you can never hear !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your capo is up side down.
