I've been wearing my Bluesy for the past 9 months everytime I go out. Such a fun watch to wear if you're not against a bit of a showy piece. When I feel like wearing something more discreet I fall back on my platinum dial Yacht-Master which completely flies under the radar. When I want something more beefy, I put on the SD43 for that badass look. So I kind of have most corners covered, the showy Sub, the classy Sub and the badass Sub.
Definitely the blue dial. Super easy to read, everything appears so much crisper to my eye. Additionally, it would be a more versatile wear - very easy to sport this blue dial with two tone with casual, semi casual even, and a dress occasion requiring a suit. A lovely watch.
@David I'm lucky enough to own both and I love them for different reasons. It's up to yourself but generally I don't trade or sell any Rolex as I feel they are blessings.
Ordered mine, will be than the 3rd blue sub. Sold my first bluesy as I got the 116618LB. Sold that as full yellow gold was too much for my liking and now going back to the new 126613LB. Congrats to yours, wear it in good health and thanks for this vid. Cheers mate

I’ve purchased a V serial 2009 ‘Bluesy’ this week with the Flat Blue ‘Smurf’ Dial, partially stickered & unworn, from a reputable local Ex-Rolex 🇬🇧 AD (they were the original supplier of the watch who had just bought it back from a regular client of theirs). I had been considering adding a ‘Bluesy’ to my collection for years & slightly preferred the ‘Smurf’ dial. Apart from missing ‘Hang Tags’ it was complete with a blank undated warranty card & original box. As the ‘Smurf’ dial was only in production for 3 years & I was really pleased to find one in such condition. I’ve worn the watch continually now for 72 hours & was delighted to find it well within COSC specification (it has gained less than 3 seconds)
Had the hulk and looked amazing but when holding it against my TT Daytona, didn’t like the weight of just stainless. I let Hulk go and received my Bluesy from AD a few weeks ago. It’s the best Sub and the solid gold one doesn’t have the contrast. Also fancy the new TT GMT with Jubilee, black grey dial.

I just tried this at my AD. They had it in stock. I liked it but it didn't wow me. I am more for the Datejust and Day-Date models. However their listing price was even 5% below retail. I realised it now when I came home. Might go ahead and buy it.
I wonder if you could switch the bracelet with a SS to make it more proper for a delivery wear? I do love the bluesy … just don’t know how it will work as a daily
My all time favourite watch, period. Steel and Gold compliment each other like ebony and ivory. The sunburst dial pops. I’ll get it, one day, if it’s the last thing I do. 😎
In 2020 Bluey was priced at $14,300. Today in 2023 it is priced at $15,600 a 9% increase. I think it is one of the most classic and most beautiful Rolex watches.

Interesting, I didn’t know about the one larger dots on the crown. I feel like there are so many little subtle Easter eggs on Rolex and that’s what makes them so special.

Blusey hands down for me. An absolute brilliant time piece no other rolex pops like that sunburst dial in or out of the sun 😍 ps. where did you get those micro-fiber gloves?
I prefer the 40mm ceramic sub, not a fan of the 41mm case with the wide bracelet. I can see why they did it but the 40mm sub looks like a proper piece of equipment, a tool. That really is gone forever now it’s just a show piece. I have the new Explorer II where they did the same trick with the lugs and bracelet but I think the bracelet looks over-bearing (there is just too much bracelet) and not as comfortable.
@@TheLumeRoom I guess the Explorer II is another level again, the bracelet is wider and the watch head is bigger. Always very conscious of how much bracelet steel is in contact with the wrist, I suppose it’s not uncomfortable but more that it’s very noticeable. It’s never a watch you forget you are wearing, having said that I do love it.

Each to their own. The new streamlined case is more comfortable for sure. I prefer this updated royal blue and and think the white text is fresher. No wrong answer though 👍🏻

I beleive your 100% right. The Solid Yellow Gold does Over Power the Bluesey Dial. The Two Tone Bluesey seems have more balance and let's the Blue Dial do most of the talking. I've heard in person the Two Tone is even more impressive then looking at in a photo or video.
I am in the market for a submariner right now. Leaning towards the Hulk (or possibly new Kermit). With the bluesy, I feel that it looks like you want a gold Rolex but can’t afford it (like driving a Porsche Boxter because you can’t afford a 911). Also, having seen a gold Submariner on someone with pale white skin like me, it didn’t look that great. However, each to their own, and if you’re lucky enough to afford any Submariner, you’re in a good place in life.
If you see someone with a Rolex or Porsche and the first thing that comes to your mind is "That person can't afford...", there's an issue. £11.5k for the Bluesy. Not sure I'd call that a compromise. I've tried on and lucky to be able to afford the full gold Subs but find them overbearing. The two tone version is more robust and better looking in my opinion. As you said, each to their own. lol are you serious?!. I have a bluesy because I like the contrast. Looks amazing. The all gold model doesn’t have that. I own a few very expensive watches and could get get the all gold Sub if I wanted to but like the looks of the two time much better. Not everyone thinks like you.
That brand disgusts me : showoff, speculation, greed and trading by drug dealer types. Has nothing to do with watch passion. Not on my wrist. One exception : vintage Rolex.

Congrats! I wear mine as a daily although it is flashier than any SS model, therefore good for formal events. Don't sell it, just enjoy it 👍🏻

Fair point about them looking less tooly. Have they went for a happier medium perhaps? I actually find the 41mm more comfortable

Tried on a Sub, and compared to my Tudor BB 41 (22mm bracelet) the 21mm on the sub is a sweet spot for me

I tried on the solid YG blue dial Sub (previous gen) and found the gold overpowered the rest of the watch, so the dial got lost. Just my opinion.

I am in the market for a submariner right now. Leaning towards the Hulk (or possibly new Kermit). With the bluesy, I feel that it looks like you want a gold Rolex but can’t afford it (like driving a Porsche Boxter because you can’t afford a 911). Also, having seen a gold Submariner on someone with pale white skin like me, it didn’t look that great. However, each to their own, and if you’re lucky enough to afford any Submariner, you’re in a good place in life.
If you see someone with a Rolex or Porsche and the first thing that comes to your mind is "That person can't afford...", there's an issue.
£11.5k for the Bluesy. Not sure I'd call that a compromise. I've tried on and lucky to be able to afford the full gold Subs but find them overbearing. The two tone version is more robust and better looking in my opinion. As you said, each to their own. Good luck on the watch hunt

lol are you serious?!. I have a bluesy because I like the contrast. Looks amazing. The all gold model doesn’t have that. I own a few very expensive watches and could get get the all gold Sub if I wanted to but like the looks of the two time much better. Not everyone thinks like you.

The whole watch market is in a slump. Rolex is one of the more resilient brands but not immune to a dip.

That brand disgusts me : showoff, speculation, greed and trading by drug dealer types. Has nothing to do with watch passion. Not on my wrist. One exception : vintage Rolex.
