I was not actually surprised. She also publicized her trips away which was a mistake. I would be worried someone would grab that Birken and run.
Security system and cameras that you can also see on phone or tablet. Protect the whole house not just for handbags. They also have wireless now. You would be surprised how people are watching your every move. I have a crazy neighbor stalking me for years I have moved four times. There is so much technology they can put a tracker on your car track your phone bypass your systems where there's a will there's a way if you have a house you can get a large safe not just for handbags but other things also

I sold my entire collection and bought dividend stocks so I don't ever have to work, again. I have one bag....The recent silver Trendy CC that I keep on my desk and take with me. Silver Trendy...An iconic name for my trendy silver years.

This is what I’m contemplating. I’ve sold 8 bags so far and lots of clothes. I’m on my last declutter and I think I’m going to do stocks as well for dividends and some savings. Just keep 3 bags.

Unless I had a team of bodyguards to escort me everywhere, I would never go out with a bag like the Himalayan Birkin. Pieces like that are a neon sign, alerting all kinds of people that you have money to scam or steal from. Discreet is the way to go, especially if you live in a big city and walk outside.
And I would wear it everyday! As you get older you realize there are not so any days guaranteed. I would enjoy it as much as I could!

I have a 5/5 rule. 5 favourite bags. 5 favourite shoes. If I can't be happy with 5 then I have to swop, donate or sell. It's a way for me to feel balanced and appreciate what I have.
I try to buy vintage where possible because I feel that it's better value for money but that depends on the bag of course...some vintage bags can cost more than new. If I won the lottery, well then that 5 would probably jump to 10/10! 😂 😂😂 The key is balance.

I appreciate your video, i just want to say though life is incredibly short. If your bags and luxury brings you joy i personally don’t think it’s necessary to sell unless you genuinely don’t use it, but never do anything out of fear. We have limited time here, and sometimes it’s hard to find things that bring us joy. With that in mind i think overthinking the handbags can cause more stress than necessary. Love your videos I’m glad you didn’t sell everything ❤️

The reality is outside of a few bags (or LV/Gucci monogram) most people wouldn’t know the difference between a designer bag and one purchased from the high street. Until I started collecting higher end brands, I had zero idea what a Birkin looked like, let alone classic bags from most fashion houses. I would have been able to identify the LV or Gucci pieces, but in my area I would have assumed they were knock offs.

i have a special insurance for all my luxury bags. every bag is insured for what its worth and its insured for almost everything: break in, vandalism, theft, robbery, etc.
since i have that i can enjoy my bags without beeing affraid all the time ;)

Hi ! Well, let's calm down for a minute and talk about the facts : I live in Paris, and Tamara moved to the city acting "Carry Bradshaw takes Paris"! Let me tell you that NOBODY here goes to Hermès everyday, (dressed up in Chanel with a golden Rolex on the wrist, age 30...) , steps out of the store carrying plenty of stuff, and walks home just like that. You have nearly 99% of chances to get followed and stabbed in the lift. 😔My point is, of course I'm sorry and devastated for her, 😢of course no one deserves it, but... She is a bit irresponsable and, to me, lost balance over reality. Brands spoil way too much influencers like her, and give them this illusion of opulence that tends to blur their mind. In France 90% of the people don't own 10%of what she has, and apparently, she moved to Paris ignoring this. This is a lesson for all of us: when it comes to luxury there are rules, espacilly right now with the pandemic. Being still able to afford luxury nowadays is beyond privilege! 🤔So to me the point is not to sell or not to sell your collection, but to behave more conciously than Tamara on a daily basis...😘😘😘

I have an issue where in some of the comments there appears to be a bit of victim blaming occurring. The immoral criminal is the person or person who stole, not the victim who had the items stolen, let’s be clear about that.
Unfortunately my taste changes so rapidly I am on the high quality replica bandwagon, which means each piece is equivalent to a good quality non designer handbag, so I don’t worry about the bags- the contents of the handbag eg phone wallets sunglasses etc are worth more than the bag for sure,

When I saw her video I was actually relieved. Because it was titled “I lost everything” I thought she meant actually everything. I thought she lost her home and loved ones etc. It still sucks to be robbed.

I have just 6 designer bags and I would be sad if they were stolen but I try not to get too attached to material things. I just returned a n LV bag I didn't;t really need as I bought it on impulse. I talked about it in my last video. I was really sad for Tamara when she lost her collection and I am glad she is gradually building them up again. I like the way she handled it

My house sadly got broken into 2 years ago and all my designer pieces were stolen. My insurance payed me back because I had bills and bank statements of everything (german sufficiency). It was traumatic for me, but at least I didn’t loose anything financially

I think of this every day, I lock my room like that will stop them, I don’t use my bags at work because I’m scared it will get stolen. It is really scary. I don’t have many but I’m afraid. I totally understand what you are feeling. 😞

I agree with many of your other subscribers, don't sell your bags out of fear. Only sell if you are tired of these bags or you don't use it. Personally I would not sell everything to get one special bag because I know I will miss my carefully curated collection too much.

I know Kyle Richards from RHOBH had her handbag collection stolen. Some of her bags had belonged to her deceased mother so had real sentimental value. Are there safe deposit boxes that you can store really expensive bags in I wonder. I haven't got any bags worth more than £300 so am not worried about my collection. If I had my dream Chanel, I would only use it discreetly on special occasions. Tfs xx

i’m only 18 and starting college to work towards my engineering degree so i can buy stuff lol, but I have a small collection now and i constantly worry about my stuff. I have high end watches, cologne and sneakers. Every time i’m not home i lock my closet because i’m so paranoid my cats or someone in my family might break stuff 😂.

My Dear Romina, indeed I saw 👀 the ‘Tamara’s incident’, but ‘luckily’ 🍀🍀🍀🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻, I don’t have such a big handbags 👝 👜 Collection which could justify for example a dedicated secured room or closet. I recently sold 15k worth of my bag collection... no regrets. I bought couple pieces of Chopard and VCA jewelry that I enjoy every single day. The rest of the money went into savings. I feel less anxious having my money in the bank rather than on a shelf where it could be stolen.

The Dior doctor bag’s skin is called peau de porc (pig skin) truly lovely
I have an extensive bag collection but I don’t worry about them- my real money is in real investments( stocks, real estate). What I worry about and treasure are my children, husband, family, pets- things that are irreplaceable.I love and enjoy my bags but they are just bags.

So when my i was pregnant my husband was overseas and there was a severe storm in our area with tornado warning, gosh our stairs was steep so there i was pushing boxes of my bags and expensive doll collection , i was like so scared cause i also had 2 dogs , and i’m like if things turn downhill i have to save my dogs since then i said i’ll stop buying bags but i lied lol

I think the way people "respond" to danger and trauma is so interesting. In your case it seems like you're like "no you're not gonna hurt me, I'll go ahead and do it myself" which is quite a way to go. Like the idea it would hurt you so badly to lose it so you'll just sell it yourself, that's a lot. And how many other ppl are now buying security systems and building moats after what happened to Tamara? For me, I don't sell and I have not bought anything I'm not prepared to lose. I'd rather keep my life than a handbag, personally. If I woke up and insects or raccoons or something destroyed all the bags, oh well 😭But this is also why i don't buy Hermes anymore. Too much to lose!

Hi, Romina! My father used to have a safety box for his collection of very special items. The box was installed in a separate room and was bullet and fireproof and was so heavy there is no thief could possibly carry it away. He was the one who knew the code. It sounds a little dramatic now but it worked and he never worried. Since it was many years ago, I am sure there are more convenient ways of protection to make your items safe inside your apartment. Maybe it is worth some deeper research and investment? And on a slightly different note, I have 2 kids and worry about their safety all.the.time. From small things like fingers caught in a door to major dangers like paedophiles and child killers. Sometimes can't sleep thinking how dangerous the entire existence is! (lol) There are always things we worry about. Do what you must! And rely on it. Good luck and lots of love!

Hey! Thanks for the informative video! Unfortunately, I’m not sure if I’m familiar with the particular youtuber. Was she the person who was robbed? I am sorry to hear about your fear, however I do believe that reducing a collection regularly is a good idea. There is really no point in my opinion of having items that never get used or that don’t have a special memory or an emotional collection. Btw I totally understand why folks want to reduce the amount of monogram print items. I personally try to have max 1-2 items in each LV print. I highly vouch for my Hermes Kelly and Birkin bags. From them I always get enjoyable usage. They’re also really easy to sell and get most of the money back. I hope that you’ll have a great week!

Like you I also got to thinking after seeing what happened to Tamara, I have a very small collection and nothing anywhere close to her valuable Birkins but I do worry about breakins in general after it happened to a family member and because it’s not uncommon where I live. I think everyone should have a security system! Even worse than losing your things I think would be the unease that would always be there after someone came into your personal space uninvited :( I felt really bad when people blamed her because anyone can be targeted and a determined thief can find some way. I’d be more nervous carrying one hugely expensive piece like the Himalayan, if that got stolen on the street that would be tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars gone all at once if it’s just one really expensive item versus having that spread out over several items. Of course at the end of the day you should buy what makes you happy and wear what you have! I would love to have a Birkin one day and I know I’ll be a bit nervous about it being such an expensive bag but I’ll also want to wear it as much as I can! Nothing wrong with selling items that don’t work for your wardrobe but it should hopefully come from a practical place instead one of fear.

I will put all my money in jewelry or an amazing watch If I was you, something you can really carry everywhere. Because let's be honest, are you really going to carry an Hermes or Himalayan bag everywhere ? I don't think so. let's say you going abroad and you stay at an hotel and you wanna go to the beach do you think you will take this bag with you at the beach ? No way ... I think you should go for something like a small piece of jewelry or a really pretty watch something that will never leave your body...
But at the end, it is your choice of course. I am only giving my point of view.

The gas station up the road has been robbed thousands of times, and they do not keep more than $60 of cash. If people are willing to risk their lives for $60, they’ll be others willing to do it for even less. If we lived in fear, we’d never leave our homes! Sometimes, terrible things happen to good people. We learn, get back up, and find the humor in life again. You could trip and your bag could fly into the street and a coyote could steal it 😩🤣 literally anything can happen!!!

Yes I do. But I got finger print security dungeon locked room for my beautiful bags. So many of them are mainly Hermes and Chanel and Himalayan Birkin. I don't publicise them like influencers. Very private

I don't think It's a good idea to buy only one really expancive bag...they can still rob you, this way Is Just gonna be easier, because It's Just One thing, if you want to do a luxury investement buy Diamonds or Gold (not jewelry). I think that investing in One very expancive thing instead of many expancive (but not as much as an Himalayan Birkin) It's way Better, not everyone has a budget for an Himalayan Birkin, and as very expancive houses etc It can take a long time to resell...but this Is Just my opinion, I do have insurance on my properties and I never spend a lot of money on bags ect as much as I love them I think It's very risky, a scratch and It's ruined.
